Butler police pull man from burning garage
BUTLER — After the Butler Police Department was called the scene of a garage fire, two officers worked together to save a man who had collapsed inside.
According to the police, when Ptl. Bryan Gordon and Sgt. Colleen Pascale arrived at the scene, they were met by 26-year-old Alison Ryan. The woman told the officers that her 53-year-old husband John was still in the garage, which was filled with a heavy black smoke at the time.
The two officers were able to work together to get the man out just before the garage caught fire, police said. They treated the two people before the Tri-Boro First Aid Squad and Butler Fire Department responded to the scene as well.
The couple were taken to Chilton Memorial Hospital for further smoke inhalation treatment.
The Butler Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire, and two dogs were taken by animal control to be cared for while the couple was receiving treatment.
The Butler Fire Inspector was called to scene and according to the police the incident is still under investigation.
