According to this article, teachers in schools in the United Kingdom have started a new trend of banning kids from being best friends to avoid them being upset by the fallout if the friendship should end.

Kids are being encouraged to play in groups rather than just with one other classmate. The purpose is to save the child the disappointment of ever having to "break up" or leave their best friend. What will ever happen to the term BFF (Best Friends Forever) if schools allow this practice to take place?

The only thing we can say about this is that it may be time to run for the hills because if this is what schools are now worried about with our children, we're all in trouble.
