3 Shot, 1 Fatally in Newark Restaurant

Police say three people have been shot, one of them fatally, inside a Newark restaurant.

A spokeswoman for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office says the shooter entered a restaurant called L.C.'s Place near Westside Park in Newark around 10 a.m. Thursday and began firing a weapon.

Names of the victims have not been released, but police say the man who was shot and killed was in his 40's. The two other shooting victims were transported to local hospitals. Police are describing them as a man in his 40's, who is in critical condition, and an 81-year-old woman, who was working in the restaurant. She is in stable condition.

No arrests have been made.

The prosecutor's office says more details will be released as the investigation continues.
