13-year-old boy riding bike dies after car crash in Central Jersey

FRANKLIN (Somerset) — A 13-year-old boy who was hit while riding his bicycle on Monday has died from his injuries.

Franklin police said Andrew Russoniello, of the Somerset section of this township, was turning left from Amwell Road onto Elizabeth Road when he was hit around 5:30 p.m. by a 2013 Nissan Versa driven by Robert Terracciano, 23, of Red Bank.

Russoniello was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick were he died around 11 p.m., according to police. No charges have been filed against Terracciano, who police said was not injured in the crash.

The intersection is not far from Colonial Park.
