Woman seriously hurt in Neptune brawl

(AP) — A woman was shot and seriously wounded when a brawl broke out at a hall in central New Jersey.

Monmouth County prosecutors say the large fight at the Veterans of Foreign Wars hall in Neptune Township was reported shortly before 12:30 a.m. Saturday. But it's not clear what sparked the brawl or how many combatants may have been involved.

The 20-year-old shooting victim was hospitalized in critical condition. But further details on the Neptune woman's injuries were not disclosed and her name has not been released.

It wasn't immediately clear how many shots were fired during the brawl and how many shooters may have been involved.
