Where to get free, cheap hot dogs in NJ for National Hot Dog Day

Welcome to National Hot Dog Day. While it may not be an "official" holiday, pretty much any day during which you can get free or cheap food is a good enough reason to celebrate.

In honor of this totally made-up holiday, lots of eateries in New Jersey are offering free hot dogs or discounts throughout the day. So whether you're a frankfurter purist, a mustard-only proponent, or you go against the grain and use ketchup, here is a list of places where you can enjoy free or cheap hot dogs Wednesday.

• Burger King — Throughout July, BK is offering hot dogs for 79 cents each.
• Love's Travel Stop — Get a free hot dog Wednesday when you show a special barcode, which can be sound on Love's official Facebook, Twitter or Instagram pages.
• Sonic — Throughout the day, hot dogs and chili-cheese Coneys are $1 at participating locations.
• Philly Pretzel Factory — Pretzel dog, anyone? Get a hot dog wrapped in a soft pretzel for $1 at participating locations.
