The recent release of Taylor Swift's album, "The Life of a Showgirl," has ignited conversations across social media and the airwaves. Among the tracks, the song "Wood" has drawn significant attention due to its explicit lyrics focusing on her intimate relationship with NFL superstar Travis Kelce. This provocative turn in Swift's artistry has elicited mixed reactions from fans and critics alike, highlighting the ongoing conflict between an artist's evolution and public perception.

While many listeners have defended Swift, asserting that her growth as an artist allows for more mature themes, others have expressed disappointment at the explicit content that deviates from her earlier, more innocent persona. This discourse raises an intriguing intersection of parenting and music, with parents grappling with how to address such themes with younger audiences.

For those unacquainted with the song, "Wood" takes a bold step into territory that some feel is uncharacteristic of Swift, known for her storytelling prowess and heartfelt lyrics about love and heartbreak. Critics argue that this song, in particular, strays too far into the realm of explicitness without the nuanced emotional depth her fans have come to love. The explicit imagery and candid references have left some fans feeling that she might be compromising her artistic integrity.

Listeners have taken to various platforms to share their thoughts, with some suggesting that Swift’s provocative lyrics could alienate her younger audience. The challenge for parents becomes how to explain such content to their children, especially when the artist has previously been seen as a role model. Parenting in the realm of celebrity culture can be a tricky endeavor, especially as standards and expectations shift over time.

Furthermore, Swift’s move into explicit territory echoes a broader trend in the music industry, where many artists are pushing boundaries in ways that provoke thought and often shock listeners. The question arises whether this shift represents a natural evolution of an artist's craft or if it risks alienating dedicated fans who appreciated her earlier work.

Ultimately, the conversation surrounding Taylor Swift's "Wood" highlights a complex layering of artistry, expectation, and the implications of explicit content in music. As fans and listeners continue to navigate their responses to this evolution, it becomes clear that Swift's impact on the music world remains significant, regardless of the controversies surrounding her latest album.

Lovers and critics alike will undoubtedly continue to analyze and discuss her work, ensuring that Swift's place in the cultural conversation is more than just a passing moment. Whether one views her evolution as positive or negative, it undeniably invites a dialogue about the nature of music, generational shifts in content expectations, and the relationships artists have with their audience.

This is the story of the one. As a custodial supervisor at a high school, he knows that during cold and flu season, germs spread fast. It's why he partners with Granger to stay fully stocked on the products and supplies he needs. From tissues to disinfectants to floor scrubbers. All so that he can help students, staff, and teachers stay healthy and focused. Call 1800 Granger. Click granger.com or just stop by. Granger, for the ones who get it done. New Jersey chime time is 10:09. Good morning, New Jersey. I'm Judy Franco. We call this the Judy and EJ show. You know why? Cuz I'm here. I'm Judy. Over there is EJ. Good morning. He's thrilled to be here. I can tell from I think you and I are the only two thrilled to be here this morning, by the way. Yes. And good morning, Kyle. Everybody else wants to kill himself today. Well, here's the thing. You know, years ago, back in the 90s, we were at Wonderland, uh, the big ferris wheel at Wonderland, and we were at the very top, and my little son, who in his little youthful 2-year-old, three-year-old voice at the top of the ferris wheel said, "I'm a little scared, Judy. I'm a little scared today." You know why? That's so cute. People are so angry. So, cuz the Phillies, well, the Phillies lost. The Eagles lost. Um, hold on, I'm not done yet. The Giants lost, the Jets lost, the Yankees lost, and even the Buffalo Bills lost. Okay, not everybody is cranky. Not my problem. Um, but here's what I do need to discuss with you. Yeah, I may have exacerbated the problem. So, I just want to admit it here and then we'll move on. Okay. Saturday night, I happen to be flipping through the TV and because I am on the border of the two TV markets, New York and Philadelphia, this station is not either one. I've heard that. I don't know if you know that. Okay. We're not New York. We're not Philadelphia. But because I live on the cusp of the two media markets, occasionally I will get a Philadelphia sports update. And I thought it would be interesting when I saw that one of the teams was losing just to see if Kyle was doing his part. You know, I thought about Kyle before the game started and I sat in the Kyle position. Clearly, it did not work. Okay. Not only did it not work, but there's more than the position. You had to be squinting. I did squint. You did? Okay. I did. I This is what I did. I sat angled myself, right? Um, I squinted and turned tilted my head. Did I leave something out? So, for those of you who don't know, everybody has a sports superstition. Kyle's has to do with some insane way he sits. Insane way he leans. Dumb chair he s whatever stupid thing it is he believes in. And part of it is he has to turn his head and squint a certain way. So I like the wise ass that I am texted him when I saw they were behind and I said, "Are you squinting?" Not to my surprise at all. Did not receive an answer to my text. He couldn't sit. He couldn't see it. He was squinting. He was too busy squinting. So, oh no, I saw it. So, Saturday night passed, Sunday pass, and I thought maybe about 3:00 yesterday, I'd be like I was going to reach out and say like, "Are you okay?" Cuz maybe you're just dead or maybe you just like didn't feel like answering my wise ass text. It could have been one of those two things. And occasionally I think of Kyle as like a nephew or like my son, you know? So, I'm always like worried about him. At about 3:00 I was like, "Should I see if he's dead or maybe should I just assume he didn't like my text?" And I went for the ladder. Am I am I guessing correctly, Kyle? Yeah, it was smart to not double tax cuz I would have ignored you again. So anyway, it was a bad weekend for every sports fan in our region, man. But the good news is and Penn State lost too. Penn State lost. But the good news is, even though Penn State lost too, is we all get together on a Monday morning and feel a unity in New Jersey. And do you know why that is? Because we're all well, we're all doing important things that might even seem mundane, but because New Jersey is so important to the universe at large, we really know that everything we're doing is like the butterfly effect. like you know that whatever you're doing is causing a ripple that eventually is going to turn things around somewhere hopefully for the better. Not always, right? But and and what I'm trying to say is we're all united and that's why we ask this question every Monday morning. Oh man, little loose. Little loose. Well, he did that to piss me off because I asked him No, I'm just doing a million things over here. I apologize. Yeah, I know. That's okay. You know, I Kyle is like the problem fixer for everything that happens here at the radio station. The funny thing is and it happens during our show, which you know, kind of frustrates me a bit. I know. He should just be focused on us. I know. And I I often say, imagine if this happened during a different show because we're so flexible. You know, Dennis and I were the same way. Like, whatever. Do we got to do Kyle? Like, fix it. We could have people in here powdering our private parts and we just go on doing the show. You know what I mean, right? Like it's insane. Like K, we could have we could have the devil dancing all over the board and and threatening to blow the place up and we just keep doing the show. That's how we are. We're professionals. You got to keep going. Got to keep going. So, we want to ask where you are, what you're doing. Um and the reason that we do this is we know how important New Jersey is. I mean, you will find so many stories, so many news stories that happen in Shanghai, that happen in Taiwan, that happen in, you know, Kentucky. And somehow, some way, inevitably, you trace it back to New Jersey. There are roots in New Jersey. We don't know why that is. Maybe just the Lord just blessed us with some kind of big influence all over the rest of the world, and we appreciate it. That's why we can do this. You will never see Nebraska 1015. Never. No. It can only be done here. There's always a Jersey angle, Judy. No matter what you do, if you keep digging and digging and digging, there will be a Jersey angle, right? But wouldn't you love one day for Kyle just to like take a week off? Like, let's say, god forbid, we don't want him to get sick, but let's say Kyle decides like, you know what? Uh, I'm going away and something goes wrong here and let's see what happens. You know, it would be a cluster. Is freaking everything. be a cluster Frank. Oh no, Frank's not here anymore. Yeah, it would be a cluster something. Yeah. Anyway, um always here to prove how integral New Jersey is to the universe at large. We have Brian the cheese guy who's going to explain the important thing that he is doing. And as you guys know, the man is the cheese guy. So, need I say no more about his importance here? Hi, Bri. Bonjouro everybody. Hey bonjou everybody. Number 33 on that little box. I always remember that. You don't have to play it. Yeah. So talk to me. You know we say that to each other at our sales meetings. Okay. That's a little strange. I think guys from from here like cuz we heard it on the show. The guy from Philly. We like hey m Jordan everybody. That's beautiful. It's beautiful. But now people in Wisconsin are saying that and that came from 1015. Look at you. Look at us. There you go. It's amazing. And I love when you call here, um, Brian, because you're always doing something that like we could all think is like stupid or mundane, but it's always something important. I have a cold a cool actually thought of EJ this morning. I have a cooler full of cheese. I have a couple pieces of nice proolone in there. BJ, if you're interested, I could swing by and drop one off to you. Oh, please do, sir. It would be great to see you. You I was here the day that it was Dennis's last day, and you were here here with the uh what was it? Provo. Was that provolone? No, I brought the mozzarell freshly made. But we didn't have a chance to chat that day, but it would be great to chat today. You were uh you were in the corner. That's me in the corner. Stop pretending like you want to chat with him when all you want is cheese. All right, let's be hon. By the way, Aldi stepped up their cheese game. They speak of Aldi, they have the cabb seriously sharp which is pretty good for Aldi cheese. I just have to say one thing about supermarkets and I it's funny because I wrote a post about this today. I should actually send it to Thomas to put up. Sorry, Thomas. Um, enough I just saw like another Aldi is coming to you know at some point it is going to reach the point of diminishing returns. You can't have a supermarket in every corner. It's, you know, listen, commerce is great, competition is great, but at some point they're all going to start killing each other. And that's what is not going to be drugstores. Look at drugstores. Now look at Starbucks. They're closing a bunch of RAID's done. Survival of the fittest, Judy. That's what it is. And and that's what happens. And you put a CVS across the street from Wraid and it seems like CVS always wins. I don't know. Listen, we're a small state. Yes. Okay. We're densely populated. We got a lot of people who want a lot of different things, lot of drugs. But really, you But you But you really, it's ridiculous. You can't have an Aldi on every single corner. It's insane. And then another LE because Aldi open. Le's got to do two. And then Stop and Shop is going to be like, "Fine, we said we were done, but we're going to open two more now." And then the Whole Foods goes, "Oh, well, there's not a Whole Foods for another 15 minutes driving this way. Okay, we got to put another Whole Foods. And then the the gourmet one, the what's the the the the healthy one needs another one. It's ridiculous. All Trader Joe's Trader Joe's milk. But then there's another one. Green salad green ger sprouts. Green grosser greens means I don't know what they It's How many sprouts do you need? How many freaking organic things do you need? It's insane. Listen, I don't want to sound like I'm complaining, but you're going to shoot yourselves in the foot, you supermarket people. Mark my words, half of these guys will be out of business in 5 years. Anyway, Brian, I love you for calling. See you in the best, guys. See you, Brian. Thanks for calling. It's not good. All right, all that aside, Judy, yes. Brian's bringing cheese. That's all we care about. What What really matters? 1 8002831015 is our phone number. Where are you now? What are you doing? What task do you believe is mundane? We'll show you how it is so important to the to the cosmos that you'll never think of yourself as doing a mundane task ever again. We turn chicken s into chicken salad. That's what we do here. 10:20. Your phone calls coming up next. Let's take a quick look at New Jersey. Fat candidates to hire can be like, well, deal. We hope you had a great weekend in spite of what every single regional professional team did or didn't do this weekend. 1800 283101.5. It's where are you now on the Judy EJ show. Hey, did you know HMart is a Korean supermarket chain specializes in Asian foods? I had no idea. HMart. Yeah, cuz I was talking about um you know all the the expansion all the supermarkets. So many supermarkets blah blah blah. Yeah. And so I was doing the research on it and they're like, "Oh, HMart is, you know, opening in at Cherry Hill." I'm like, "What the hell is HMart?" I Google it. HMart Edison, HMart, New York City, HMart Ridgefield, HMart, um, Cherry Hill. And I'm going, "What the hell is this? It's a It's an Asian food store. Pamis." Oh, it's all over the place. What a cool thing. I wish they had it near me. So, if I wanted to do stir fry, that would be the place to go and get the supplies. Yeah. Yeah. Japanese. What's the H stand for? Uh Hiroshima. I have no idea. Probably not Hiroshima. Oh boy. Um how how Hatachi? I don't know. Some Japanese word. Actually, it's Korean though. I don't know. Anyway, somebody will tell us. They should call it K. If it's Korean, it should be K. Like K-pop. It would be uh Yeah, they should. They they should call it Kmart because that's available. Give them a give them That's right. That's right. Something else is available now. What did we just hear? Rightid's closed. Right. Now all of them. All right. 1 800. Well, write aid was I'm sorry. Let's all let's be real. Was rightaid not the most ghetto store in the world. So, I did have two COVID shots and and there was at one point there it was hard to get the COVID shots, but the the I went to the most ghetto the only one I could find was like the most ghetto one in like Southwest Philly and it was scary, but I got it. Then I was so sick afterwards I said I'm never doing this again. My son used to work at Wraid and then the shot by the shot was scarier than the um the effects of the shot were scarier than the neighborhood. Oh, because I think Wraid is scarier than any side effect. What exactly was Wraid? Was it CVS? Was it a Walgreens? Isn't Is that similar to CVS though? Kind of. It's always been Wraid, but it was sort of No, I know, but like what is it compared to? I would say a cheap CVS. Yeah, it was like it's the difference between Walmart and Target. You go to Target, it's bright, it's beautiful. The shelves are 10 feet below the ceiling, so there's light penetrating the place. You go to Walmart, you're like in prison. You know what I mean? Bright, like seven of the lights were out. The shelves were falling over. One cashier who hated their life. Yeah. All the uh all the You know, you're right. That was my son, by the way. And all of the customers have like corn chip toenails and facial raisins. You know what I mean? Like they were just wrong. All of them were just wrong. Like they were people but they were wrong. And then Walgreens took him over and I really saw the transformation cuz my son worked there when it was right aid and then Walgreens came in and now he's like working in this bright like clean prettier place you know so I you know I bought stock in Walgreens and then I lost all of those. You like Walgreens over CVS? No I don't. CVS is nicer. Yeah. Walgreens I still think is the poor man CVS. However, nothing was as bad as and now I can say it now that they're out of business. Let's be honest, right? It was horrible. It was horrible. Although, in different areas, things must have been different because I used to complain about Kmart, how I thought that was the most ghetto store in the world. And Dennis would be like, "Are you kidding me? My Kmart is bright, beautiful, there's always people to help you." And I'm like, "Kmart? I'm armed when I walk in there." Well, Kmart was did okay for a while. Then they had a decline and then you know like before people die you know they have a little like a little they come back a little bit and then they and then they just fall off the face of the earth. They come before the uh storm. I noticed that with my parents like they oh they're going to get better. Oh no they're not. Oh great. Now you got to bring your parents into it. I can't make fun of it. Well you can. I mean it's been 30 years. It's a cute death. It's a cute death. It's a cute death though. That's true. I I believe EJ's parents both cute death. Same with my parents. Stop. But I have a question. Seriously. Yes. What do they call There's like um there's a name for it. It's like uh Oh, they have that last burst of I can't remember what it's called. Right. There's like this moment of clarity that comes back. Yeah. And then you know, Yeah. Anyway, that's what happened with Kmart. Yeah. Agreed. It was not a cute death either. Well, it was slow. It got slow and painful at that point. And and you know how slow and painful it is? The one near me, nobody even took it over. Like normally like there's a big, we had a big Toys R Us, it closed, Amazon Fresh, boom. Right. Then you get like a big movie theater, boom, another ladle. You know this Kmart, which is in like a great location, went out. Nobody wants to go in there. That's how gross it was. You'll never see anything in there. It's been like 10 years. What is it? It's nothing there at all. It's just an empty shell. Yeah. Ours became a Lowe's. Yeah. Can you believe? Nothing. No. Anyway, um you should open it and put a roller rink in there. Every single place that's empty like that, I'm like, "We need a roller." I say the same thing. Somebody needs to put a roller rink. Okay. 1 8002831015 is our phone number. Uh where are you now? What are you doing? Um we mean you're on the highway. You're doing your work. You're dropping stuff off. You're delivering. You're working in a store. Why are you calling us if you work in a store? Um, you're home ironing. You're on your way to a dentist appointment. Where are you now? Your phone calls next. 10:31. Family farm is open for the fall. This is the story of the one. As a custodial supervisor at a high school, he knows that during cold and flu season, germs spread fast. It's the Judy and EJ show on New Jersey 101.5, you know, Judy, years ago when we would do uh perceptual research studies about the radio station, there's the number one and two thing that would come up. One was not New York, not Philadelphia. Number two, where are you now? So, the uh Oh, no. I'm lying. Why' you say that? I don't. You made me so You got me so excited. The only reason I told you right away is that you're really was so sincere and you were like, "That was so cruel." I guess that was kind of mean. I thought you thought I was joking. I don't think you anymore. I wasn't joking, Judy. Somebody JJ wrote in and said that Kmart is empty and haunted. He knows what I'm talking about. Judy and EJ listening to the best station 101.5. Um, who's that? That is Jojo and Longbridge. Oh, Mr. 420 NJ, great name. Yeah. Says, "My old Kmart in Berlin is still empty and everything that was connected to it in the plaza also has clothes." I'm telling you, Kmart has the cooties. It started with the Radio Shack. That's what the K stands for, Judy. So true. started with the Radio Shack and then they fell over like dominoes. The last place there was a dollar store, but even that has closed. Um, yeah, Kmart, you do not want to be where a Kmart was. You never hear about dollar stores closing. You ever drive into rural areas and you're you're in the middle of nowhere. There's beautiful mountains and streams and corn fields. Yeah. And a Dollar General right in the middle of nowhere. Dollar General has no shame. Dollar General will open up in the middle of like the chemotherapy ward in the cancer hospital. You know what I mean? No sh I I I'm like, what are you doing here? It's it's in the Catskills. We go to our friends. They have a beautiful home in the mountains and like there's just vistas like as far as the eye can see and beautiful roads with nothing ahead and the landscape is endless and it's gorgeous. And then there's a Donald Dollar General. Well, you know what? It's not unlike it's, you know, like the little roach traps that you might put in the corner. Yes. And then it's like well you don't see them but then somehow they end up finding the place and then in these rural areas there's no people but they end up they're like they're like the Dollar General is like the roach traps of people. They it they are. And especially cuz like you might have a beautiful home but if you've got roaches you've got to put that roach trap down. It's the same thing as Dollar General. Like it's so unsightly but it needs to be there for some reason. And and it brings them in. And the Yeah. And it's the They brought a bear in up at that one in North Jersey a couple of weeks ago. They have no shame. No shame. It's ridiculous. And you know what's scary about Dollar General? No, it's not a dollar store. Well, you can't get anything for a dollar. Exactly. Well, no, wait. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Family Dollar was never a dollar store. Family Dollar is Yeah. a discount store. It was never a dollar store. Dollar General was a dollar store in what in the days of dollar stores, right? Yeah, I get that. I get them mixed up, but one of them was never a I think it's Family Dollar, but anyway, Dollar General, I thought it was Family Dollar I saw up in the Cathkills. Well, there are Family Dollars and they're generally I think in the strip shopping center, but the the Dollar Generals are like standalone and they're in the middle of a cornfield. ridic like you know the opening scene of the sound of music where Maria's like twirling around in the Alps there's like a dollar general down the hill a little bit there's a dollar general down there they just pop up I saw one south of Maze Landing going down toward Strath like what's this doing here with a dollar and there's like a big line of people like going in there because there's nothing else in the apps but the freaking Dollar General where do You get uh what do you call it? Those logs that you put in a fireplace, the starter logs. Yeah. Starter log. Yeah. Up there. So, you're assuming people up in the mountains cut trees, but not everybody does. If you want the starter log, you need a Dollar General. Where else are they selling that? Well, I will tell you up where our cabin is, you have to travel at least an hour or two to go to any uh supermarket or grocery store or or or department store or whatever. You have to drive so so far. I I think if I ever like, you know, croaked, they'd have to bring a helicopter in and take me away. So it's we're so remote, so far away. Don't you ever feel though, like that is scary to me. Like if I can't know that I can get back to civilization in a certain amount of time. I feel very close. We have zero cell service and the landline's not working. We're like on our own there. Totally off the grid. I couldn't do that. But there's a Dollar General 20 minutes away. Oh, is there really? Yeah, honestly, there is. Hysterical. I love that. So, if you guys need anything, you got Dollar General. Yeah, I'm going up this weekend. I I'll pick you up something from the Dollar General. I want to know I want to go to this like I don't want to stay at this place cuz it sounds so creepy. It's It's clean. No, no, it's not about the clean. It's about the the um Oh, the remoteness of it. Yeah. Yeah. Like I just read a book about people homesteading in Alaska and I'm talking about the part of Alaska like you could barely get to and they're like, "Oh, it's so lovely. you know, you have to take a boat just to get like toilet paper. And I'm like, do me a favor. I can't. I'm not that. I'm not that. I I'm I'm the person who EJ, I want to pick up my phone and never have to leave my house and have people deliver crap to me. I know this guy that he actually drove up I forget the name of the road, but it's a road that goes through the center of Alaska to the very top north of the Arctic Circle. He actually drove there to a town called Dead Horse, Alaska. What's up there? People love it, though. You know what? I think there's like refineries up that way. So, so here's the thing. In this book that I was just reading, there it's a novel, but they really do explain this beautifully. They go up there because they want to just homestead. And they don't want a homestead on the mainland. They want a homestead where they're literally away from any civilization whatsoever. Like, you got to take a plane to even get to a boat to get off of. I mean, it's insane. I would be worried if I lived in it. So, we go to the cabin for weekends, maybe a week here and there, but I could never live up there. I I because in the middle of winter, you know the movie The Shining, how it it it snows. I never saw The Shining. You never saw The Shining. I'm a girl. Don't go see The Shining. I've seen it either. So, you know how it all snows in, right? And then and Jack slowly loses it and goes crazy. I think if I lived in a place like that, I would go crazy like Jack and Okay. Would I like The Shining or is it a horror? I always thought it was a horror movie. It is a horror movie. Yeah. It's a good movie though. People I'm not just saying that. But it's like it's so like 1980. Um and you've been skiing before and you've been to mountaintop resorts and whatnot. Yeah. And these places are beautiful wherever they shot The Shining at Colorado maybe. Uh but it's like I mean it's in the middle of nowhere. You can't really get there through a vehicle in the winter time. You'd have to take a tractor up there. Yeah. Um, and did you guys ever see um, Misery? No. Is that the one with Kathy B? Hobbles James Khan. Yeah, I did see that. Yeah. Okay. Kyle, put that on your list this weekend. You will never You will never ever want to stay at a mountain resort, snow resort ever again. Well, I saw The Shining when I was like 11 years old and I was at my buddy's house and his dad was watching it and we're 11 years old. We want to watch the movie with him. He explained to us, "Do not watch this. You shouldn't. You're going to have nightmares. We're like, of course, we're going to do it. Why not? I had I had nightmares for like a week. Oh, he was right. Oh, yeah. It was bad. I should have not have done it. Oh, horrified. So, little Kyle with the nightmare. Horrified guy. I got to say this, by the way. I I love how where have you now? Where are you now has evolved into a stream of consciousness hour. I love it. But you know what? I mean, if it's interesting to people, great. You know, at one point with the Dollar General, I get it. Some people are like, "Okay, move on." Did somebody say that? Yeah, move on. All right. But I don't care because, you know, I I there's something that I've learned on this show and that is I have a pretty good sense for when something is entertaining most people. If not not, you know, nobody's going to be 100% entertaining. Right. Right. But if you're if you're entertaining to a good part of the audience and you have a sense of that, you can go on and on. I'm entertained. So this guy, you know, listen, he's a nice guy. He listens all the time. He's falling asleep. You know that's that's on him. That's on you. We'll wake you up when the Dollar General joke is over. EJ, I don't care. That was the best observation in the world. The roach observation. Uh the Yeah, the Dollar General observation. The other thing is somebody wrote to me, fun fact, Judy, The Sound of Music was filmed at the Trap Family Lodge in Vermont. Are you kidding? It wasn't shot in Switzerland. I'm so depressed about that. Yeah. That there really could have been a Dollar General. All right, we got to take a quick break. We'll be back with weather and traffic and your phone calls next. I got to ask you how your New Jersey. Let me ask you guys this during the Where Are You Now. If you weren't here in the studio talking on the radio, where would you be? Kyle, where would you be? That's a good question. On the golf course, for sure. For sure. I'd be on the beach. I think today's going to be a beach day. Another 80 plus degree day today. Not October weather. Yeah, true. I can't believe I would be I guess I'd be on the beach. But like, you know what? My friends who have backyard pools didn't never close their pools cuz they like take a they're like, you know, saw what was going on. They're like, "Oh, we'll wait another week. We'll wait another week." My husband closed the pool September 1st. Did I tell you this? I know. And if your kids were there, they would have said like they were in the pool when they saw the uh the backyard guy coming to shut Oh, when they saw the pool guy coming to close the pool, we were away. Yeah. You know what they would have said? Yeah, I know what they would have said. What would they have said? No, you may not. They would have yelled at him just like that. No, you may not. But they weren't there to tell him that. And therefore, the pool got closed. They came back. There were regrets. My friends pools are still open right now. It's October. You have to back time the closing of the pool to the leaves falling. I think you need to have him down. No, cuz Martway, he has the ultimate defense. Yeah, you want to pay for it. Like, okay, fine. I have a buddy that his pool's still open. He doesn't heat it or anything. And the but the water's down to 66 now. That's a little too Okay. Well, nobody's going in there. No, but it's still open. Well, like I could put the heater on one night just to like swim the next day in the fall if it's not that cold out. But like he It closes it. Who does that? You know, they they ch I think for a lot of the areas in New Jersey, they've changed our our climate name to subtropical. So, I think we're called like subtropical in this area now. So, you should leave it open till like October 15th. I know you want to pay for it. Okay. No, I saw that there's parts of New Jersey where it's considered they changed the designation of the name of the climate to subtropical in many of our areas. How could that be? It's a little warmer now. I have flowers that are like still totally bloom like it's the middle of July. It's awesome. Oh my god, I have a thousand tomatoes. And I won't do the mums. I hate mums. Why? I just don't like them because they represent the the end of the growing season and that winter's coming. No mums at our house ever. And we have a lot of flowers. No mums. Yeah, mums are like the Grinch of of flowers. They're like, "F off." The minute you look at a a mum, it's like saying that. I agree with you. They make me angry. Okay. I don't go that far, but I mean I could see right now you're getting I really hate moms. You kind of have issue face from this. He does. He does have issue face from it. I see it. Full full issue face. One thing about EJ and Kyle, you can back me up on this. When he even talks about like being ang like he was angry 40 years ago and he was like, "Some kid stole my roller skates when I was 10. You'll his face will get red. He'll be like issue face all over again. It's scary. I used to have issue face. I had I was uh not I didn't have a good poker face when I was a boss. You always knew when there was something wrong. Oh god, he was rid Kyle. That was the best boss to have. He would tell you every secret. Like, dude, who's getting fired this week? Everybody go down the list. Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom. He could not keep it in. I can't hold a secret. It's bad. It was great. Anyway, you know, we kind of have to break now. Well, that's good, Judy, because you know, we have there's always another hour though after the break and there's Jen's news and then there's traffic and weather and all that kind of stuff. But then there's always another topic and we understand you had another real bad night of sleep. I did and like I'm not going to whine about it, but I I think I'm just going to start to look for some I don't know, sympathy and maybe some ideas and then I'm going to give you some statistics cuz a lot of us are in the same boat. New Jersey is one of the worst sleep states in the whole country. You know where you got that? I know where you got that statistic. nj115.com. Oh, I thought you pulled it out of your ass. One of those. Your phone calls coming up next. 10:56. Stay with us. It's a very exciting year for New Jersey. Chime time is 11:09. Good morning, New Jersey. I'm Judy Franco. So excited to be here with you. This is the Judy and EJ show. the EJ part of the program right over there. Say hi, EJ. Hi, Judy. Hi, Kyle. Hello, special listener. We like to call him EJ, but you know, it's really Eric Johnson. It's just that we are chock full of way too many Erics here. And ironically, you were one of the first Erics. You should be able to keep your name, but they won't let you. Well, no. No. When I got here in 99, there were two other Erics. And so, they started calling me EJ back then. So, it started with this place and then there's already like, you know, there's Eric Scott and Eric Pototts now. So, I can't be Eric. I have to be EJ. All right. Which is okay cuz even high school people called me EJ. So, that's good. They did. Yeah. Okay. So, we didn't we didn't make it up. But listen, I got to say I Oh, by the way, you know what my dad called me? What? He didn't call me Eric. He called me earachche cuz I talk too much. Oh, that's so cute. That is, by the way, that is adorable. Yeah. Um, okay. So, here's what's going on. I have complained about this before. I don't know really what it has to do with, but all I can tell you is I am not sleeping well. Okay? It's not stress. It's not hormones. It's not the TV on all night. I mean, because I was the best sleeper in the entire world, right? And I don't know, over the past like few years, I just I'm not sleeping well anymore. And I wake up, I would say every 3 hours. I go back to sleep, but I wake up every 3 hours. I don't go to the bathroom. I don't eat. I don't look at my phone. Well, last night I looked at my phone. But I mean, I just roll over and like look at the clock and then I got to go sleep again, right? There are people like my husband survives on 3 or 4 hours of sleep his whole life. He's just never slept well. He might have uh somehow messed with his circadian rhythm due to um unprescribed medications that he may have taken uh at some point in his life and permanently messed with his body clock. But I have a feeling that he just never would have been a good sleeper anyway. Some people are just good sleepers and I was. I could sleep through fireworks. I could sleep through blasting loud music. You know, you'd have a party in the neighborhood and the next day people would be like, "What was that? Can you believe that band played until 100 pm? I was calling the police." And I'm like, "What?" Like the people that comment on the next door and ring. Yeah, exactly. They they they always comment on the the bangs, the loud noises, and and the smells. Yeah, exactly. Oh, that is the wor that is the funniest app on earth. But anyway, I I was one of those. And now I don't wake up from noises. I don't I'm still a very heavy sleeper, but I wake up for some reason every 3 or 4 hours. So, people in New Jersey do not sleep well. It's known. And whether it's the fact that we are always on the run, we're harried, we're a densely populated state, we're more stressed, we're more emotional, whatever it is, we're not from the sleepers. And I have a feeling it's like EJ, I bet if you're going to take it from a geographical perspective, purely from a geographical perspective, probably those fly over Midwestern states, they probably sleep very well. You know why? Cuz there's nothing else to do there. I will tell you when I go to that cabin 3 and a half hours away, middle of nowhere, I do sleep better when I'm up there and there's there's you don't even hear airplanes flying over. It's so remote. It's so quiet. You don't bring that like contraption with you up there. I bring the CPAP up there. Why don't you do that thing? Oh, the Aspire or whatever they call it. Yeah. Yeah. I'm afraid that with anything that they implant in me or any kind of surgery involved with any of that, it's my voice up, you know? I know. I would be afraid also of that, but it just seems like the the that mask like I remember seeing Biden like Joe Biden would come out to make a speech, still have the marks. Well, you know, the masks are better now. I used to wear one that had like a support on your forehead and it went over your whole nose. The new one just goes right under my nose and it I sleep much better now with this new mask than I did before. And look, I have my Fitbit app out right now. It says I got an 83 last night. 83 is a good sleep score. See, I want to get it just to see if it works, but I don't want to go through the process of like having to test. But do you snore? No, but I clearly wake up every three hours from something. Maybe I stop uh breathing. You know, I think it might have something to do with, you know, you know, you have so many birthdays in a row and something happens with like your chronologic stuff. You know, I don't want to say you're getting older, but No, I know. But as you get older, I think your sleep is affected by that. I've noticed how to fix that. I I go to bed really early now, like 9:30, quarter to 10. I wear the CPAP. I'm usually up by 5:30, six o'clock and this seems to be working well for me, this pattern. Okay, but here's the thing, EJ. We're talking to people now who are of every age and they still have problems sleeping. I had a friend in high school who was an insomniac. It was so sad. He was one of the most creative, brilliant, talented people I knew. In fact, he's a famous design. You know, Isaac Misrai, you've heard of him. He had a big hit in the 70s called Chef. No, no, no. Another Isaac. Okay. Isaac Mai was a very big He's a huge huge designer. But anyway, he uh from like 8th grade I knew him and he could never sleep. And I was always like that's so weird. Like I thought insomnia was for like adults but like my whole life that I know him he couldn't sleep. 14, 15, 16, 17. And I I know I have certain friends who like do not sleep well. So, I want to talk to people because they say New Jersey is a state that does not sleep well. Do you not sleep well? And if you do not, what do you do about it? 1 8002831015. Does anything help in the whole wide world? Kyle, are you a good sleeper? For the most part, it doesn't take me a whole lot of time to fall asleep, but I'm the person who never wants to go to sleep. You know, it's infrequent where there will be the time at 10:30 and I'm tired and I say, "Let me just go to sleep." I'm usually the fighter. I try to stay up till 11:30 dreading the next day. Oh, really? Oh, yeah. It's bad. I've got that. Do you like being with us? No, it's just I I don't know. I don't like admitting the day is over. It's very uh It's a very weird thing. I used to be that way. I was too. Yeah, I used to be that way, too. And I think I did it. I liked having the house to myself, like after the kids, my wife went to bed, and you just have the house to yourself. I like that, too. Yeah. That's so funny though because I remember that feeling at your age just being like, "No, it's not over." Yeah, until it's over. And I know that the later I go to bed, the worse I'll feel in the morning. I'll wake up with a headache if I don't get enough sleep. Uh or just tired or, you know, I woke up at the wrong time during my sleep cycle and I'm screwed for the rest of the day. That night before though, it never really registers with me. I'm like, "Nah, I'll beat it this time. I'll go to bed at midnight, but I'll be fine in the morning." And every time I'm wrong. I know. I know. I know. I think I was the same way as you were then, but right now I'm not even sure if it has to do with it. It could. And by the way, EJ, somebody wrote in and said, "I have inspire. It was a nightmare. Had to go back to CPAP." Good enough. I'd love to hear more about that. But um anyway, um is is CPAP only for old people? That's the other thing. Cuz if we're going to do an hour on CPAP, Well, no. I'm going to kill myself. My daughter is 32 and she just got one. Oh, really? No. And my son should get one, too. He's 34. He snores so loud, more more loudly than my daughter does. But she just got it and she's getting used to it. And 32 years old, she's on it. I was going to say, cuz then I hope that I stop breathing in my sleep tonight if we're going to talk to all old people. I'll shoot myself. Henry is in Red Bank. I really want to talk to him because he's got the CPAP and just like you, EJ, he says it really helps. But I want to talk to you people because I do have a feeling. Hang on. Henry's not old. No, he's not. But Henry, I do No, I want to talk to Henry. Shut up. But I also want to talk to people have sleep problems when they're younger because I want to know like what do what do people do? like not everybody h needs a CPAP, you know, and I've taken so many drugs, not prescription ones, but I've taken so many like, you know, the the sleepies and the nighties and the eedron PM, the PM, and the And then you wake up the next day with a hangover from it. There's gummies. I know, but the gummies give me a hangover, too. Anyway, I can't do gummies because I have a you know, I have a gun license. All right, your phone call is coming up next. 1119. Here's New Jersey Fast. Invincible. Just a couple times more. I say go to sleep early. Get a Fitbit and be aware of your sleep score. If you wake up at 3:00 in the morning, don't look at your phone. Any tips on how to get better sleep? 1800 283101.5. So, that's one of the mistakes I know we make because I told you we project the time onto the ceiling. Yeah. So, like you can't escape it. I don't know why they say don't look at the time. That makes you stressed out, I guess. And that makes it more difficult to sleep. But I mean, routinely I'll go to sleep and then I wake up and I look at the ceiling. I'm like, "Please God, let it let it be morning." Morning or at least close to morning like a decent time. Like I could get up at at 4:45, no problem. And I look, it's like 11:37 and I'm like, "No." My wife also woke up around 3 3:15 this morning and she just listens to books on tape and sometimes just those voices will lull her back to sleep again. Those voices do put you to sleep. But I hear those voices and it's distracting for me. So, I'll let you I'll let you know what the book is. All right. Great. 1 8002831015 is our number. Henry has a CPAP and he sleeps great. Henry, I have a million questions. How old were you when you got it? What were your symptoms? And do you have that big fat one that goes over your whole face or just a teeny little one? I you Well, I got it about almost 10 years ago, so about 45. Um, I did have the mask where it's like the oxygen mask and I couldn't sleep with that. That was too uncomfortable. I do have the two that go right out to the nose. The thing is is I got a sleep apa test and that was important because I found out that I gasp for air 40 times an hour where you know I mean you're not getting good sleep. Can you do that test at home or do you have to go somewhere to do it? That's why I won't do it. I had a test at home. How do you do that? I I got to do that cuz I'm dying to know how many times a a night I wake up. Well, recently I had a friend go to the doctor. Yeah. And he did a different He's got a a ring on his finger and they hacked it up to an app. So, there's other ways to do it. You ever see that thing, EJ? I see commercials for it sometimes. It's called like I don't know what it's called. Something stupid. But, um yeah, it sounds unbelievable. It like really really takes it watches your sleep and it really I gotta do that. Well, your thing does too though. Your Fitbit does that, right? It tells you if you're really sleeping, EJ. Yeah. Like it gives you a score, but then it also shows you your your benchmarks, too. Like it really divides sleep into like awake. I had like I was awake 37 minutes last night. I my REM was like 23% of my sleep. My light was 56% and my deep was 12%. And it seems like it's within all the benchmarks. Yeah. Aren't you supposed to deep sleep for Judy? That's good. Well, no. I mean I mean the benchmark I mean I'm looking at it and and it seems the biggest benchmark is light. Um and then then REM and then deep. All right. Well, I've got a lot of people who give me so um ideas. I somebody told me magnesium take it before you sleep. I did and the next day my head was spinning. So I guess some people aren't sensitive to that. I certainly was. Um do in Bridgewater says if I lay awake for more than an hour, I get up, I have a half a glass of milk, then I go back to bed and go right to sleep. That's fine. I don't lay awake. I go right back to sleep. But I wake up three times at night. I don't want that. Help me. 1 8002831015. Now, I want to make I really do want to know who in New Jersey is not sleeping. They say that New Jersey has really really poor sleep uh statistics. I believe it's true. And I also believe that because of our lifestyle, because of how crowded it is here, because we're always running and doing whatever, we're not sleeping well. We're not taking care of ourselves. So, of course, in Kansas, you sleep well. There's nothing else to do here. We have more to do, more stress. It's the the cost of living. It's your mind is so awake and aware and I mean it should be when you're driving and you're competing with all these other and then we have to be more comp. I think here in New Jersey in all aspects of our life, we have to be more competitive all the way around. So, you're just naturally more more revved up. You're I agree. And um somebody wrote here and it's it's a good point. Um, Aderal maybe, you know, people prescribe Ader atall so everybody's on Aderal, but I can't believe how many apphat and by the way, you know, we have that wonderful feature on our app where you can text in if you can't call. We love phone calls, but phone number is 1 8002831015. I can't even believe it. People going, I've never been able to sleep since I was a little kid, and still today I have a hard time sleeping. imagine you're a little kid and you can't sleep. Like to me that's torture. And maybe just because I was always such a good sleeper that I took it for granted. Um this guy's really in trouble or woman woman. She says I have sleep apnnea. Wake up gasping for air. Just recently tried the CPAP. Couldn't do it. Tried for two weeks three different masks. Now I'm going to try a mouth guard. I will not get inspired. I can't I I so I've been on my CPAP since the early 2000s and I there was times I just didn't wear it because it was so difficult. The thing that made all the difference in the world is the more modern masks. So, and I said and I tell my daughter this too because she's having difficulty. Stick with it. Just stick with it. You know, it'll get better. You get used to it. Yeah. All right. Your phone call's coming up. Gary says he sleeps amazing and he's going to tell you why. And I bet it's not going to be that surprising, but Gary, we're all dying to know. Your phone call's coming up right now. New Jersey at 1.5. It's 11:30. All right, Scott. And if you're truly Look, you are the man, Kyle. Thank you, buddy. 1800. You know what? It's This Halloween season is so much fun. It's beautiful. Oh, God. It's spooktacular. I had a friend who uh wrote copy at a radio station I wor my first professional radio job and she was brilliant. She was so so talented and Halloween would roll around and she'd cry because people would want this in their copy. It's spooktacular. It's spooktacular. It's beautiful with savings so big. It's scary. All right, let's go to uh we're talking about sleep. People have a tough time sleeping and what do they do? Oh, it's called Aura Ring, by the way. O U R A Ring. I don't know how it helps your sleep, but at least it monitors your sleep, right? So, 1-800 2831015. Why are we having such a tough time sleeping in New Jersey? Um, Gary is in Colt's neck. He says he sleeps amazingly, and here is the reason why. Gary, tell us. Well, first of all, did you guys have a good weekend? At least hopefully you did, right? It's beautiful weather. Beautiful. So, yes. Sports aside, sports aside, it was a great weekend. Oh, I know. It's a disaster. The Giants, the Jets, the Yankees. It's just the New York media beats you up. Imagine that. You're in East Rutherford and you're still called the New York Jets and the New York Giants. That's a problem. But anyway, how do you not have a retractable dome? I want to know. But that's beside the point. So, listen. If you hang out with me all day, I guarantee you the way I talk to people, my landscaping business, you will be tired. Your brain will actually be so tired of listening to me, you will sleep so amazingly, okay? And that's what it's really all about. You got to tire out your brain. Our brains have so much going on in it throughout the day with social media this that listen you have to get into that REM that rapid eye movement. I sleep down five six hours. God forbid you could put a gun next to my head if somebody was robbing me. God forbid I wouldn't even hear it. That's how good I sleep. So yeah, hang out with So you're saying it's from working hard? Yes. You have to tire out your brain, man. There's just so much. It's different than when we were young kids, right? But in this new generation now, I'll be 58 soon. Your brain, you have to the social media, whether you're with a Trump fan or the Biden side or the left, the right. There's just too much going on in society, man. We have to just And I don't even smoke weed and do I don't even drink. Once in a while, I'll drink a little port wine is okay, but you'll sleep. Unbelievable. Hang out with me. Come to the grind. coach, EJ, I want to treat you. I never mention I don't want nothing out of it. I'll treat you guys. Come by. You know, you know what I want to do one day, Judy? Um I want to take a ride over to the Mammoth County uh studios. The Mammoth County, what do you call it? The uh the um department, the Shore Bureau, whatever, wherever it is. I want to go there and do a show from there one day. And then I will I will tie Yes. I want to work with you in your room. And then uh then I'll meet Gary for coffee. Okay. Yeah, that would make sense. Listen, invite invite me. I would love to come. I listen, I got to meet Judy and Dennis at the Americana Diner and Judy was she was I never I never seen her and you know when I met her, she looked she looked exactly the way I envisioned her and then I saw her sisters there. They were all happy. It's beautiful. Yeah. Thank God. Thank you so much. That's so nice, Gary. But the problem is why I can't invite you is I don't know if you know what the Mammoth County Bureau is. I don't know to be honest with you. Is that is that like the police department? No, it's my house. Well, listen, if you ever want to go to Longbridge once in a while, I go to the Old Mill. I get myself a beautiful hot dog. I make them burn it on the grill with a burger and the onion rings are to die for. Let me know. He's amazing. Thank you so much, Gary. I really do want to have a have a Mammoth County Day with Judy very very soon before before it gets cold. We really need to do that. We really need to do that. And also, I I'm I'm a qualified landscaper, too. I do all my own landscaping. Uh Gary, you should see our house. We've got uh the flowers look great still. We haven't put mums out because we don't have to. The summer flowers still look great. You know, I mow the lawn uh feed it and all that. So, I love doing all my own yard work. Pansies. Out the pansies. My wife loves pansies and they we keep them all winter long. Do pansies. They come up beautiful in the spring and then when you pull them out when the annuals are ready to go, right, you have at least some color as long as you don't get to snow. But yeah, but my number let me know. You know, I tell you what they don't eat. We have Lantana. We have Lantana all over the yard and they look so good this year. But but there is no true um deer resistant flower anymore. Well, they don't really like they listen. Honestly, if you give them impatience, they're like candy. You You'll see that they were bibs on. No, but I gave them maragolds. People said maragolds, they won't touch them. They're fuzzy. They hurt. They They destroyed them. They destroyed Russian Russian shades. Anything purple, the deer don't typically eat. So, stick with some flowers that are purple. Uh Vinka vine is great if you want to do a little bit of ground cover. You know, I'm in cold snack and let me tell you, there's not many things that they don't eat, but we have stuff still out there that they don't eat. But if they start eating boxwood, then we're done as a They never eat boxes right now. They're practically up to the boxwood. But Gary, thank you so much for your advice. Love hearing from Eugina is in Lumberton. She did the magnesium foot spray. Don't even tell me. It doesn't work on me. What do you do? So I first I was not sleeping because I was working. Then I decided not to work anymore. So see if that worked. Well, that didn't work either. So I started um I figured, well, somebody told me about using earplugs. So I thought, all right, so let me try the earplugs. And they did help a little bit, but not enough. And then I heard about the foot spray and I thought, it's probably a lot of crap, but let me try it. And I have to tell you, it made such a huge difference. I slept the very first night. I can't believe it. It was unbelievable. And no, honestly, and it what happens is when um when that solution goes through your feet or something, the nerves in your feet, it absorbs real quickly. But I can't take magnesium like um you know, like a a pill or anything because it really does affect me in other ways. Me, too. So, I'm not really supposed to. Yeah. So, well, no, I'm not supposed to be for medical reasons, but they it interferes with the medicine I'm taking. But regardless, I tried the foot spray and he said, you know, that's fine. You can use that. So, I did and I got I've got to tell you it really made a difference. The one thing that the caller before that said he sleeps great for five to six hours. Well, I've got news for you. In order to really do well, you have to sleep at least seven hours. That's what the guidelines are. And that's frustrating because I mean, I'm sleeping a lot better. Not quite seven hours. Who sleeps seven hours? Give me a break. No, no, no, no, no. I said not quite seven hours. I wake up very early in the morning, but I I wake up early because my my eyes just open, not for any other reason. It's not because I'm thinking or caring about anything. But the combination of the two have really changed my life because I was waking up with bags under my eyes. Okay, I'm going to try I I I I'm not going to do the spray because it didn't work for me, but I have a magnesium cream that's supposed to do the same thing. Yeah. So, I'm going to try it. Yeah. Gina, I love you. We'll try it. Good luck to you. Thanks for calling. New Jersey won a 1.5. Now Anthony, who cannot do anything unless he does it well cuz he just does everything well, is obviously going to tell us how to sleep well, too. He's a true Renaissance man. He really is. It's unbelievable. All right, but we got to keep him on hold a minute because we got to take a quick break. Weather, traffic, your phone call next. It's the Judy and EJ show. We'll see you in a sec. Friends, it's Judy Franco. You're new.com. So, here's how I know everything's good in my life. I do get up once or not twice a night to go to the bathroom, but I fall back to sleep right away. Some nights I don't, but last night I did, Judy, and I got like an 82 sleep score last night. That's beautiful. Isn't that beautiful? Are you jealous? I'm a little jealous. I am. I don't know too many people who get an 85 sleep score. Yeah, I was in the 80s all weekend long. So, uh I feel good about that. You're like the temperature. I'm trying to offer some Don't look at the phone in the middle of the night. Um, go to bed a little earlier. And uh, what else? Where CPAP if you need to wear a CPAP? All right, let's go to Anthony in Delaware. Who? Uh, let me tell you something. Let me tell you something. What is a sleep score? If you have a Fitbit that you wear on your wrist that you can clock your exercise with, it also measures your u I guess your blood flow and whatnot, whatever it does, it it it you wear it around your arm and it picks up on your body's rhythm in the course of the night. So, we want to know your sleep score, Anthony, compared to In other words, stuff black people don't do. Um, well, I I I would argue and say fit black people probably do do it. Are you fit? Anony's I I have to say one thing in Anony's math. He's uh I've seen Anthony. He He He's pretty freaking fit. Okay. I'm okay for my age. He's the fittest. You don't take an afternoon nap. Are you kidding me? No. No. I I could never take a afternoon nap. Then I would never sleep in a Also, I have too much to do. I need that afternoon power nap. Okay, wait a minute. First of all, a power nap is like 30 minutes tops, right? Right. So then, but then when you wake up, you're like groggy. No, no, no, no. That power nap is so I'm 58 and um yeah, I need that power nap. It's essential. But at night, yeah, I take a oxide. Yes. Not glycinate. No, it's oxide. Okay. All right. Every different kind of magnesium. People have told me. Kimberly, thank you so much. Got another idea. All right. Uh guys, unfortunately we do have to take a little bit of a break, but we'll be back with more uh weather, traffic, the news, and EJ, Judy, and EJ, and also Kyle chiming in too cuz we're really loving it. Might get a appearance by Ronnie. We'll see coming up after this. Judy Franco here. It's Mon New Jersey time. Time is 12:09. Hello, kids. It's the Judy and EJ show. My name is Judy Franco. Across from me is the lovely and talented EJ aka Eric Johnson. Across from me is Kyle Forcini. He'll be happy to know, EJ, that I recovered most of the electronics on my desk uh after spilling my weekly coffee spill. What did you spill it on exactly? Um let me see. A couple of lamp switches. Uh charging cords. Uh, but no actual radio broadcasting gear. Oh, radio stuff. No. Oh, good. Because we can hear you loud and clearly. We've had some incidents here over the years where someone has spilled coffee or soda into the control boards and it's shut this room down. We had to move into a spare room for like a month. Also, we all knew who it was. Well, we suspect who it might. Was it ever admitted who did it? No. Oh, but we all know who did it because once you spill it, it seeps into the equipment and then it has to fester for a few days. Well, let me tell you how we knew. Okay. There was enough tea in the board, right, for four small immigrant families. So, you're saying it was it was big tea? It was a humongous gallon of tea. That's all I got to tell you. All right. But we're not having that problem. We're not having that problem today. We're okay with your most recent spill. I keep my coffee on the left side because the microphone cannot be spilled on. It's hanging. Yeah. And the only other thing would be that comrax and that's on the right. All right. So, so far I've only destroyed like my iPads, my computer, stuff like that. Oh, Judy, can I remind the folks of something? Please do. EJ. Coming up in a few minutes on our Atwork payday, it's a chance to win $1,000. However, this Thursday, October 9th, yes, it's it's going to be even more. A special $10,000 Thursday. $10,000 Thursday. Yep. October 9th and 16th, your shot to win 10 $10,000 with the Outward payday. That's unbelievable. Please make a note of it. Make a note of it. Abs freakingutely. So, uh, EJ. Mhm. It's coming to that time of year, you guys. Um, it's funny because I just saw that Kylie is about to write a post. I probably shouldn't spoil it, but I'm going to say it anyway. Go right ahead. She won't mind. One in, and this is actually I'm promoting her post, so you can look out for it. She's about She's going to write this. One in five Americans are skipping Halloween. One in five. Let me see how many people I can see in here right now. One, two, three, four, five, six. There's seven. And I know of two people among this group that hate Halloween. Really? Two out of seven are skipping h Are you skipping Halloween? No, I'm skipping Halloween. I too, Judy, am skipping Halloween because I don't like it. And what about the boy across from you? I think he's going to celebrate it. Well, it depends on what you mean by skipping. Is skipping as in like not dressing up or skipping like no candy, don't come near me. And I'm going to put a do not knock on my door sign so I have trick-or-treaters. Here's the thing. No trick-or-treaters ever ever come to me. I live on a very very secluded road. Nobody can ever find me. Thank God. Um but I just you know how like some blocks are like trick-or- treat blocks and some blocks are not. If my block was a trick block, I would certainly have candy. But but it's not. So that only adds to my joy on this holiday when I can just completely shut it out because it's so stupid now. Well, wait a minute. So you said yes or no, Kyle. I would say I'm skipping. I'm not dressing up or going out for it. I will have candy cuz now living in the apartment that I live in, I I don't know if that's going to be a place people do it. Like I'm not sure, but I would rather have it. What's the saying? You'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. That's true. Well, like many things in my home, I'm in a divided household. Uh, so, um, she loves Halloween and she does. Yeah. She likes Halloween a lot. She likes when the kids come by and the neighbors and they have beers and they share them and there's all this. But the thing and maybe that the social part of it is okay. I don't like the decorations. I because it's death. All the decorations are death. Cornstalks death. Pumpkins, rotting fruit, death. DJ, do you know that people I mean, not do you know, I know you know this, but you know what the most sickening thing is? People put gravestones with their kids' names on them. That is pretty. On their front lawn. Oh, that's horrible. There's a guy down my street and this cause causes PTSD cuz this horrible thing happened to my wife. They have a small car flipped over in their front yard with it looks like the bodies that came out of the car and two giant skeletons. It's horrible. It's gross. Yeah, you shouldn't do that. That's awful. Who wants to see giant skeletons in a in a car accident in your front yard and showing all the carnage? Well, I think somebody does want to see that. And Halloween is just so clunky. Like I used to go to Halloween parties, but then you have to put the costumes on and the costumes get hot after a while and you have to wear them and it's like I don't do that anymore. 20, 30 years ago, I'd go to Halloween parties, but they just make me angry. I just feel angry about it. You sound angry. A little bit of issue face there. I'm I'm seeing that. Kyle, do you notice the issue face? It's fully on his face right now. It's amazing. And yet, you weren't hurt. Nobody did anything to you on Halloween. I'm thinking about past Halloween parties and wearing masks that are made of plastic that make you can't see out of them and you're sweating and then and then you have to wear all these clunky hot clothes. This I hate being hot. It's horrible. But you know what? It's funny because when you walk into the ski lodge right after you've taken a run, a nice run and it's it's you had a beautiful run and you can't, you know, everything was stunning and you're shussing down the slopes and the snow is just like right behind you, you know, and you're just it's beautiful and then you go into the ski lodge and now you're shvitzing up a storm cuz you're in all of that bulky stuff. ruined the beautiful and now your sweater starts to smell cuz it's wool and whatever. I got to tell you, Halloween is the ski gear of holidays. Yes, it is. It is ski gear. It's like gh you get sweaty, smells, sweats. And not only that, but it ruins all the rest of the holidays. Like you just came out of like all these beautiful like the summer solstice, you came out of spring holidays, you know, right? Easter's so bright and the, you know, all of these beautiful holidays. It's like coming down a ski slope and then you walk in in your freaking wool sweater and your down things and you're shvitzing. That is how I feel on Halloween. I don't do it anymore. I'm done. I'm Oh, Halloween. I'm over you. 1 8002831015. And you know what makes me more sick than the clothes and the masks and the that all the candy? Adults who get into it? Oh, like go, "Oh, I'm going as a sexy kitten this year, my friend." And I She's a porn star and I'm a sexy kitten. Okay, you're 60 years old. You look like an a-hole. Yeah. When did Halloween become a porn holiday? I don't know. But it's always the women are always like, you know, I, you know, you dress like a [ __ ] every day of your life, but you always look dumb doing it, but you can't admit it to yourself. So, here's a night where you're allowed to walk around and look like a porn star, right? You know what I mean? Yeah. And nobody's going to think you look like an idiot, but you still do. They No, this is my costume. It's It makes me sick. Grown women dressing like sexy kittens and porn stars. Stop it. 1 8002831015. So, are you with EJ and me? EJ, I wish you would disagree cuz it makes for such better radio, but what are you going to do? You know, Judy, I love Halloween. I love when people get together around the fire and they have tea and hot chocolate and cocoa and they make s'mores. Another thing I hate. Um, by the way, they don't do that on Halloween. They make s'mores. People make s'mores. They go in the backyard and they gather around the fire and then they drink their pumpkin beers and they have their pumpkin latte and uh this is worse than I thought. And then there's always that extra candy in the house and you can't not eat it. I know. You can't not eat it. And it's there. And you and we're lucky if we get a kid or two. We're unlucky if we get a kid or two, actually. I know. And then I used to live I moved finally, but I used to live in one of those areas, a college town, right? And we would get like college kids and I'd be like, "Dude, not giving you my" And I used to buy those fulls size because we didn't get a lot of kids, right? So I'd have like a fullsize candy bar and I'd be like, "I'm not giving you this." Judy, it would be fun to disagree with you about this, but here is my truth. I am a Halloween hater. You are. I know. And so am I. Do you guys hate us for this opinion, or are you with us? There are two kinds of people in the world. those who love Halloween and they can't wait and those like EJ and me who really can't wait for it to be over. 1 8002831015 is our phone number. Your phone call is coming up next and also our app chat is wide open for your comments. Uh and either way we will not judge you unless you're dressing as a sexy kitten. Uh your phone calls next 12:18. Here's New Jersey Fast. I think we should give a $100 gift. Thanks Kyle. Are you a Halloween lover or a Halloween hater? 1800283101.5 Halloween spending expected to hit a record 13.1 billion this year on costumes and candy and decorations yet one in five say they're going to skip it this year. What say you? 1800 283101.5. All right, let's go to uh Oh no. Oh, I thought we had a phone call up here. Anyway, I have a couple things I want to read from the app chat. says, "Bag of donuts. Halloween sucks. We're taught We are taught as kids not to take candy from strangers and here we are knocking slash begging for candy." Yeah. I mean, I don't know. That thing doesn't really bother me cuz like it's cute. The kids put on a costume or whatever. Um but I just I don't know. I think it's the adults. You know what I mean? It's kind of creepy, too. I I I I'll share a story after we go to our call, but when my brother and I went trick-or-treating, we had a really creepy thing happen. I'll tell you about it. All right. Well, let's go to Robin in PA. Robin's a darn Halloween hater. Hi, Rob. I am I despise Halloween. I love Christmas, but I I hate all that blood and guts and it's just it's it's not for kids anymore. It's too gory. I I agree with you about that. They want to put like the scariest thing they could possibly put. And is that is that the point? Like, can I tell you something? When we were younger, we dressed as ghosts. I'm not even joking. Sometimes we put an actual sheet over our heads. I'm not even joking. And put two eyes. Why? That was ghosts, right? You don't anymore. You You're not allowed that. Oh, no. No. They'll think you're KKK if you do that now. But KKK have point. They got the point. You don't have the point. You're okay. Oh, okay. Okay. No point. Um, I heard what you said about that car flipped over and the bodies hanging out. Yes. Like half a mile down the road from my house, they have a car, an old junker upside down in their front yard and it looks like a car accident had just happened. And And looming over it, too. Have you ever seen these really giant skeletons people put in their front yards? Yep. It's trashy. Trashy. Whiskey tango, baby. Yeah. I'm an EMS provider and and I would just be appalled to see a a car upside down with bodies hanging out. I mean, we deal with that, you know, I won't say on a daily basis, but we deal with that. I don't want to have to see it fake. I mean, I deal with it and it upsets me when I I shouldn't say it upsets me, but it's like something we have to do, but I just don't want to see that. You know, that would be the only positive I would say to live in a neighborhood that had an HOA because it keeps all that stuff away. I you know I live in a kind of a semi-royal neighborhood and there's you know it's a free-for-all. It's the wild wild west in a in a neighborhood in the semi-royal neighborhoods of New Jersey. But um yeah, that would keep that away, wouldn't it? Yeah. All right. Thank you so much, Robin. I appreciate the call. I don't like the HOAs, though. Okay. So, let's say nobody really does, but okay. Let's say can't do the ghost thing anymore. Fine. Go buy a mask that looks like I don't know, Lady Gaga. Okay. Now you're a little mini Lady Gaga. You go, you ring bells, there's a little pumpkin, jacko'lantern. We used to be great at those. And you put a little candle in there, whatever. Maybe there's some kind of like spiderweb on the front door. Now you got serial killers. You got everybody's bleeding. There's all kinds of horrible images that people have to deal with, body parts coming out of them. You got fallopian tubes hanging out of people's tubes analous. It's ridiculous. And there's all and they like that. Yeah. They love that. I don't you know the the gorier the better. Horrible. So when I was a kid, my brother and I would go trick-or-treating together. Um and we went to this one house and there were these older older people sitting on their porch. It was a screened in porch and they were clearly I mean even at our young age we knew they were drinking because it smelled like booze. lose each other and they were so drunk and they said, "Well, we remember we're not going to give you anything till you do a trick for us." A trick? Yeah. Well, it's trickor treat, isn't it? Said, "Well, what kind of trick?" So, I looked at my brother. I said, "Well, okay. Let's dance." Here we are in our, you know, little Halloween costumes and I think I was dressed like Yogi Bear or something like that. And we're just like doing and they only came, they gave us nickels and dimes and that was it. So, they were they were they were drunk. They They made us do a dance and they gave us nickels and dimes. And you had a dance. To be fair, they didn't make you dance. You chose to dance. Well, of all the tricks you could have done. I have no idea. I could I could have walked away, but we had like, you know, we just jump up and down. A little dancy dance. Oh god. For nickels and dimes. Those people were so drunk. I guess though, I guess if you're drunk though, you could look at Halloween and the people that come to your house or stoned maybe in a more entertaining kind of way. Um, versus being sober, right? 100%. Maybe I should try that. Maybe then I would like Halloween. Maybe you should add your martini. Take it from the Friday routine and add it to the Halloween routine. This was a three martini weekend, Judy. We had three Friday night. You're going to need five for Halloween. I'll tell you that. All right. 1 80028310115. I feel bad cuz Mackenzie's on the line. He's a Halloween hater. If you can do this in under 30 seconds, McKenzie, you can come on the air with us. Hello, darling. Can I just wait for a while? Come back and when you when you come back to me, I'll wait for the pause. Now, Mackenzie's telling us how to run the show. All right. All righty. I have a problem with this. This is a problem cuz I as much as I like McKenzie, he can't be telling us how to run our show. That's very true. Very true. Well, that's okay. Yeah, you can wait. See, we're nice people, right, Judy? Yes, absolutely. So, we'll let him wait. But I don't like it. Um, all right. Hold on. Should I go to the news? Yeah. All right. It's 12:30. Jeff Deinsky, you want a roof that doesn't leak? Are you a Halloween hater or lover? 1800 283101.5. I have this feeling McKenzie's watching me. Mackenzie's in Rawway. You're on New Jersey 101.5. McKenzie, how are you? I'm doing well. How is Ronnie? We've been talking about Ronnie all day. How is Ronnie doing? He's doing well. I've been talking to him. Why? Well, you got to put You have Ronnie call in. We want to talk with Ronnie. Ronnie's very shy apparently, EJ. That's the problem. He Okay, I'm not supposed to say this, but he said he wants to surprise He's he's going to surprise us one day. Yeah. I don't know what when his timing is, but I'm still talking to him, though. Oh, okay. But but all is good. All is well with Ronnie, right? Yeah. All is well with Ronnie. So, McKenzie, you're a Halloween hater like me and Judy and Kyle. Yes, I am. Why? Because Halloween is something very different for my people and I. So, yeah. Is it like a smorggasborg or like a uh a buffet? Let's just say uh in the United States Halloween is the cartoon version, but in Haiti Halloween is something different. It's celebration of the dead. And let's just say there ceremonies and stuff. The thing is Haiti is mostly Christians, but the the minority that are part of voodoo that practice it, they get on TV and they get all and they get all the press. And when people go visit Haiti, that's what that's who they give the oppressed to. And the Christians are scared to kick him out because they're scared of becoming of looking like they're intolerant. Right. Right. Right. Um, do you remember do you remember that joke I told you how to start the joke on Friday? Wait, wait, wait, wait. What was it again? M. Oh, yes. Yes. Yes. Mar lash. Well, u in Haitian cre it's marla. Okay. How do you say cat in how do you say cat in in Haitian cre? But you know what I'm saying? You said shla. Okay. Because I remember in French it's shhat. Okay. So, when you go out on Halloween, um do you when people you go trick-or-treating, do you hope for like some dogs in your bag for a snack? Uh I have to say I uh I put uh the the meat of a buick in there. Buick. You know what buick is? No. What is that? Donkey. Donkey. Donkey. Okay. All right. So, cuz we thought that the Haitians were just eating the dogs and eating the cats, but now we know they're also eating the donkeys. Listen, send Ronnie our best. We adore him and a happy Halloween to you and him. And I hope you I And don't mon too many chats. Okay. I try not to. Love you. Thanks, R McKenzie. Oh, I almost called him Ronnie. Oh my god, that was a case of Just so everyone knows, Ronnie is Mackenzie's close friend/ imaginary best friend. We're not sure if Ronnie's real or not, but Ronnie is there in spirit. You know, the more I get to know McKenzie, the more I'm not exactly sure if it's safe to have him on the airwaves. He might be one of those, you know, disturbed people. And some of his words are questionable. Yeah. You don't know. We don't know what we're saying. No, Shad. I know from friends. Shad is cat. It sounds like the past tense of something that you What do you want me to do? I didn't make up the language. I don't think we should allow it on the radio. Hold on a minute. Hey Siri, how do you say cat in French? Just going to say in French cat is sha. See, it's not sh, it's sha. Look how you spell it. It's spelled it went away. C H A T. Okay. So, it's more like chat. Well, the T is silent in French. All right. So, it's sha now that I know. 1800 281. Can we get that sound effect? Uh, do people even know what that is? Kyle, when I say the more you know, do you know what that is? Not a clue. No. That was a PSA on the Saturday morning cartoons, I think, back in the 80s and 90s. Um, it was an NBC thing. And what it would do is they'd be like, "Hey, did you know, you know, when people get hurt because you bully them, they tend to have PTSD when they're older and it was always like some sort of like morality lesson." And then it would go and it says, "The more you know, the more you know, right?" Like that. So, I just taught you something, Kyle. Yeah, I never heard of that. Oh my god. And it had this sound which you really should look it up on YouTube. Well, we tried this on Friday. Remember the the flag song you were trying to get us to find? And that was false. So, this could also be a lie. Fake news. You're losing your trustworthiness in the last couple of days. I'm really really upset because I really don't know. Hold on a second. I You could say anything. I sang you the entire song. Okay. Hats off. Hats off. Along the street there comes the glare of bugles. The wrestle of drums. A flash of lightning beneath the sky. Hats off. Hats off. The flag is passing by. Then you get a piccolo. Can I make that up? No. It still doesn't hold the candle to grand flag though. So I It makes me feel awkward. It I'm going to tell HR. What about it makes you feel awful? I don't know. I just when you sing it, I just don't feel comfortable. I kind of agree, but it's more so because I'm like I don't really know how to react. It's like, oh, cute song, but also it's patriotic and sing anything else. It's worse than those people that made me do a trick when I was a kid for Halloween. You guys are so mean. Well, first, okay, listen, then don't say I'm fake cuz then I have to sing it to prove it. All right, we never said you were fake. Excuse me. He said that that song is fake news. All right. I just said I had never heard it and then when I looked it up on the YouTube, it was nowhere to be found. Fine. But okay, but I don't care. It was real to you, Judy. And that's okay. All right. Shut up. Okay. You're like my sisters telling me that a cat did not come into the car when I was little when my mother ran into the doctor for something. And they're like, "You dreamed it." And I'm like, "No, a cat came into the car." Okay, fine. Anyway, the other thing is maybe you know what? Now that I'm saying it out loud, it probably didn't happen. Why would a cat just like come into the car? Maybe it was hungry. I think I You know what? I was little. I probably like fell asleep and like just dreamed it. Oh my god, this is like you guys. This is horrible. I feel like I'm in therapy. Like I'm in that past life regress regressive therapy. And I'm, you know, when people like go to a therapist and like they realize things about their past that just come up out of the blue. Yes. I think I just did that. I think the cat never came into the car. Now you're going to tell me I also didn't put like a cardboard disc into a pay phone and it made a call cuz they also said that isn't true. A cardboard like it would look like money and it would act like money and you can make a call off of that. I never heard of that before either. No, no, it was in the change thing. Somebody tried to use this cardboard disc to put in to make a call, right? To take the place of it would pull the machine and making it think it was money. It did? Oh, it did? Okay. All right. Okay. I never heard it. And Kyle, please look for the the more you know song. Thank you. All right. 12:44. We'll be back with more more more of my life coming back to meet me to haunt me after this. It's Judy and EJ. How are you? Is sell one. Thank you, Kyle. Well, we were joking about the old NBC public service program, The More You Know. We're talking about Halloween this hour, whether you love it or hate it. So, Kyle, I wanted to show you how this the more you know thing that we tried to describe to you how it worked. So, you have the sound ready to go. I want to read this quick Halloween public service announcement. You ready? And when I point to you, play the sound. It's okay. Slow down in residential neighborhoods. Watch for trick-or-treaters crossing between the cars in unexpected places. drive sober and without distractions. The more you know. Anyway, that's all it was. It was just a little sound that they would play after public service announcements on TV. Now, I know I've heard it. It was a little obnoxious, too. like it was always some condescending message, but like because it was like NBC and they're this like big network, you know, and they would have some TV star on there who, you know, was like a soap star, we were supposed to be listening to that and learning from it. And then because they added that little, right, it would be so profound and so important and bring it up to 2025, it has turned into a meme for those of a certain age. Yeah, there you go. Exactly. So now, I don't know if you've ever heard anybody actually say, Kyle, the more you know, that's what they're referring to. I mean, I've heard that phrase. Yeah, that's I just didn't know that that was from something on what was it NBC you said? Yeah. Yeah. And it was so obnoxious cuz they tell you stuff like you knew. You know what I mean? Yeah. And you knew already. You knew already. And they're trying to tell you more about it, but you know already. Then they're like, "Be nice to people." Like that's basically what it was. It was insulting. If you're nice to people, they'll be nice back. Oh, thank you, NBC. Cuz I wouldn't have freaking know that, known that, unless Brian Gumble told me. And by the way, he's Kyle probably doesn't even know who that is. That's a blast from the past. He is Greg Gumble's brother, right? Yes. Older brother was a Today Show host back in the 90s, right? Yeah. Anyway, 1 800283101.5. Any ab chats you can share with us, Judy? Yes, I want to. Here we go. First of all, this is surprising and very pleasant news for me. Ray and Delan says, "I asked my kids, sixth grade and second grade, Deleno Township. They say the pledge to the flag every day. Does not surprise me in South Jersey." I'm so happy to hear it. But South Jersey is like a different country. And EJ being from there can attest to this. There was a succession movement like back in the 70s. They say South Jersey wanted to succeed from because it was felt that most of the tax dollars that everybody was paying all over the state, the majority of that money was going to Central and North Jersey. That's right. And it probably was and it probably still is. Um, and you know, it's it's a whole different lifestyle. You act differently, you vote differently. It's it's different. Um, and then Kristen Riverside said so freaking accurately, "Wow, it only took a couple of weeks for Judy to completely lose her mind without D." Judy, I'd like to apologize to you and to Kyle and to the audience. I I I'm sorry that I'm not measuring up. And Oh, no, no, no. It's not that you're not measuring up. It's that I was at a boiling point with my psyche, okay? And uh it was bound to come out any day. And now that some of this past life therapy is happening on the air, I mean, I think it's good. I mean, I need to know that the cat didn't come into my car when my mother ran into the doctor to get our files and that I never put a cardboard disc in the phone and it actually worked. Like, now that I'm thinking of these things that I've been fighting with my family for about for years, they're right. They never happened. They never happened. That's good that you had that realization. I got to tell you, didn't I just tell you guys the story that my brother-in-law took a Razor scooter home from Manhattan over the Brooklyn Bridge? Cuz the bridges were closed on 911. On 911? Oh, yeah. You I'm retelling me about that. Yeah. Okay. Somebody told me this story. I did not make it up. My sister goes, "Which one of my brothers and your brothers-in-law did that?" I'm like, "Your husband." Unfortunately, he passed away, so I can't even ask him, right? So I'm like, "I promise you he told me that." She's like, "I called every single person in his family. I called all my kids. They said he never did it." I'm like, "Okay, well, they're lying." But if you say it enough with repetition and confidence, it's true. It's true. It is true. The more you know, don't don't let him. Uh, very good, Kyle. Thank you for playing along. All right, we got more coming up on Judy and EJ. Hopefully I will take some of my psychiatric meds before that happens. Stay with us. Asking people how is New Jersey time is 108. Judy Franco here for the Judy and EJ program across from me is the full of cheese EJ. You got more cheese than you ever dreamed of. Kyle Forscini also I think got cheesed up. He did get cheese. Yes. You guys are Brian. Brian the cheese guy just stopped by and I I did meet him on Dennis's last day. Uh but he came back and he Now what cheese do you have there, Kyle? I believe this is provolone. Provolone? Yes. He might have been offended that I thought he sound he had a fat voice. Did you think that he was offended by that, guys? No, I He left pretty quickly though. Yeah, I mean second we talked about his fat voice, he was out. Did you notice that he doesn't have a fat voice? Brian is the man. He brought uh it's Grande Proone and Grande Aiago for me. So, I'll be uh cracking that open pretty soon. Just don't mention the brand. He gets, you know. Oh, I just did. You did? Did I? I don't think you did. Oh, okay. I didn't. Did you? Anyway, it was nice of Brian to stop by and I feel like I'm a full-fledged member of the staff now. I feel like that I've arrived here at New Jersey 101.5 now that I've been acknowledged. And see, that's what they say today. I've been seen. I've been seen by Brian the Cheese Guy. You really have. I mean, that's like one of the rights of passage. The other one is when you lose that card that lets you in the building, so you have to bang on the window. That's when you're really an employee here. You have to bang on the window and like pray somebody comes in the door, right? Has that happened to you? I I got to say when I was uh trying out with you in April, from April through like June or July, and I didn't wasn't a full fullfledged member of the staff yet, and I had a like text Jill Myra to let me in. I felt so homeless out there and I was like a a senior executive here for almost 20 years and then I come back and I had could you please let me in? It's the worst feel. I mean but it happens to us when you know we don't have that stupid card too because there's no receptionist. There's nobody. Well, so you just bang like a homeless person. I'm official now. I have a fob and I have cheese. You have a fob or you have a card? It's a fob. It's a It's a key fob to let me in the building. I don't have a key fob. Mine's like a credit card. What do you have? I I have the card, too. How did EJ get that? Maybe they're upping their game. I mean, I've had this key swipe for almost four years now. Me, too. But I want a FOB. What do we have to do to get a FOB? That sounds like high tech. Well, you could have you could be a past program director that helped the station make $300 million over 20 years. So, I don't know. Maybe maybe that's why. Is that what it is? I did the math once, you know, cuz I once heard that I also contributed to the station's revenue, and I still didn't get one. I got a FOB and cheese. Yeah, I have to work hard. So, we're going to talk about Taylor Swift this hour, I believe, aren't we? Because we should probably done should have done it Friday because that's the day your album came out, the the life of a showgirl. Um I know, but I just I mean I I do think it's something that we have to talk about because every state right now is going Are we Swifties or are we not swifties? How many Swifties are in this? Like again, I'm going to have to talk about the flyover seeds. You know that they're the biggest Swifties because again, they've got nothing else. They got no other music. They got no other hobbies. They got nobody else in their lives. Uh no diversity whatsoever. It's like that's all they have is Taylor Swift. So, God love them. You know, they should be obsessed with Taylor Swift. We have other things to do here to listen to. Yes. You know what I mean? We got Bad Bunny. What the hell do we need her for? He was on Saturday Night Live, by the way. That guy, Bad. And I have no idea. I mean, I've heard Bad Bunny before. I'm not really familiar with his music. I know he doesn't perform in the continental United States. uh maybe Puerto Rico, but um yeah, he was on Saturday Night Live and half of his uh his monologue was in Spanish. I felt so left out. Like you did before you had the key fob. Exactly. Bad Bunny. It made me feel key fobless. Okay. So, we got questions for you. Um there are two kinds of people in life. Well, that actually I shouldn't say that cuz I love Taylor Swift. I do this album so far what I've heard him I'm really not impressed with like wow Taylor you can also be sexy and racy you like we couldn't figure that out you didn't like the song wood no I mean come on it was so over the top the lyrics in that song it's clearly about one thing it's so dumb that opens my thigh we get it we get it I was actually surprised that she went that far with it cuz I mean I've been doing this long enough that we playing her music when she was a kid, 16, 17, 18 years old, you know what I mean? And now obviously she's almost 35 and very adult and probably wanting to get married and have kids, all that kind of stuff. But it just it's just it's hard for me to think about her in that way. And the song made me go oo ew ew a little bit, you know? So did I. Okay. Now and now I need to know because people accused us before because we said something about we don't like Halloween. Um, that do you got do you want to yell at kids to get off your lawn, complain about loud music, lament about cursive writing while you're at it? Blah blah blah. Well, cursive writing I've hated since I was three. I I'm glad cursive writing is a thing that's gone away. I hate cursive writing. And she she also said, this is Susie. I love her. She said, I will not be a sexy nurse. But I actually said a sexy kitten. I forgot about the sexy nurse. Um, but she's saying that we're like the old men in our underwear going get off my lawn. So, are we now the same type of person by saying this about I hated Halloween when I was 28. No. Shh. Relax. Stop with the issue face. Are we now get off my lawn by saying, "Can you believe how far Taylor's gone with?" Well, listen, I like other songs on that album like the titles they on PST on Friday morning. They were playing all these Taylor Swift songs because that's what they do. And and some of the songs are well written. They're produced well. And I do like her music. But that one particular song that she's singing about her boyfriend's male part, I thought that was a little too much. I I agree with you. You know, it's funny because when you hear uh what's her name? I'm not even going to say it because I I can't stand saying it on the air, but there's a song a few years ago that was a huge hit and and and uh every time I heard it, I would hear it out in public and you guys may know what I was talking about. One of the crudest songs ever that was a hit. And uh I remember thinking we've actually sunk to a new low and I could not believe that it could be you know what I'm talking about right song. Yeah. I didn't even want to I I don't even like to give it anyway Cardi B. And I'm like okay she's officially gone as far as you can go and that's how she what she wanted to do. So it's like in a way I just feel like is that really what ta not that Taylor song is that crude but I just feel like is that really the the the direction you want to take? Like it's so dumb. Anyway, I'm not a Swifty because Swifties are people who love her. They're fans. They're driven. They go see her in concert. But I do like her and I appreciate her music. I just don't like this song. So there are two people there are two kinds of people in the world. people who like her and people who do not like her. You think that's true? Yeah, I think so. I mean, I like her. I like her music. I might not like that one song. I might have been uncomfortable if I was with my teenage daughter in a at a movie theater where they're playing her music or whatever. And you're listening to it as a family and she's singing this one particular. It just seemed odd to see knowing what's on that album to see moms and daughters listening to that. I know. And then also because the daughters now she has eight-year-old fans, right? Like it's weird. Anyway, and there's no double meaning in that one song. What? There's no double meaning there whatsoever. No, no, it says it straight out. Yeah. Um, okay. 1 8002. There was no double meaning to the other one either. Just you used initial. Well, yeah. Yeah. All right. I'm talking about the Cardi B song. Anyway, 1 8002831015 is our phone number. So, um, first of all, I don't believe that that song or any song on this album will change anybody's opinion about Taylor Swift. If you love her, you're still going to love her. If you appreciate her music, you're still going to. I can't, you know, like my husband loves her because she's gorgeous and she he absolutely has every right to love. Any man should love her. I think she's gorgeous, too. and and there are photos associated with this new album where she looks amazing and she looks great and sexy and attractive and all that, you know, she's stunning. Um, so she didn't have to do that. I think that's my issue. Like, and you know, I'm no shrinking violet, guys. You know, I know you're blooming as crude as the rest of You're a blooming blooming violet. Oh, but I just think, you know, I don't know. She I I don't understand what the point was, but anyway, is that a love song? Like, that's the love song. I sound old. I know. I don't care. So, anyway, um we're taking a poll just the same way we did with Springsteen the other day because that movie came out. Yeah. We're now taking a Taylor Swift poll in New Jersey. Are you yay or nay on Taylor? 1 8002831015. A lot of people changed EJ when she became a scop for the government. A lot of people changed when she got involved with Kelsey. A lot of people changed when she got involved with politics at all when she mentioned anything. So there are people who probably really really love her um but had but changed because of politics or whatever. And then there are people who just love her for the music and period and a subject. Um 1 8002831015 is our phone number. I I really am a Taylor Swift fan. I can say that. So put me on the list of fan EJ. You a fan, but you know it takes a lot to shock me. That song did shock me. Kyle fan. Okay. What about that song? What's your thoughts on that song? Yeah, I never listened to it. Okay. I have not listened to the new Taylor album. Don't like her that much to to go and listen to her new stuff, but the stuff that I do know by her fan. extremely talented, beautiful. It's hard to have all of those things at once. 1 8002831015 is our phone number. Uh we're doing the Taylor poll. Give us a call. 119. Here's New Jersey Fast. And so does your well-being. Free. Yes, it is. 1800 283101.5. We're talking about your girl Taylor Swift. Her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, came out Friday. 2.7 million copies sold in the US on its first day of release. That was back on Friday, October 3rd. This is the highest single day sale for an album since uh 1991. So, it's selling quite well. She's got big fans out there, of course. And I love Taylor Swift and her music's great, but that just that one song seems to bother me. And I am not trashing Taylor Swift. Like, I it it didn't occur to me, EJ, that now we're going to be Why do you if I can say I love her. I told you she's like the most talented woman in the business today. She is absolutely beautiful. She's got a perfect life. God bless her. Now I know all about Travis Kelce's penis. Thank you so much, Taylor. And that made me feel uncomfortable and I do like Travis and I do like Taylor, but now I think about them a little differently. I have an image in my head that I don't want. Okay, so this is what Kristen says. She goes, "I love Taylor Swift. Not sure why any song should be shocking when most rap songs, Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, etc. have far worse. Taylor Swift, you don't expect that from them. We don't expect it from Taylor, right? Taylor very often covers up her words and their meanings and they very often have to be deciphered. That is very true, Kristen. That's why I thought you could keep on doing that instead of going, "Whoa, look at my husband's penis." You know what I mean? It just um I don't want to think about his penis. I'm sorry. Many rappers just said what they want and there is no judgment. First of all, it's not true that there's no judgment. People judge them all the time. And I will, and speaking of judging, and I'm glad you brought up Cardi B because she probably didn't hear that. I said before, not only did I judge that song, and I'm not going to even give the initials. You all know what I'm talking about. And if you don't, go Google it. But if I was walking down the boardwalk, all right, with my kids who are the age of to be Cardi B fans, I was uncomfortable and they were uncomfortable. Mhm. You know, so and don't tell me she didn't do it just to make people uncomfortable. So that was the difference between Taylor Swift. No offense, Cardi B sounds like a million other people. I think Card I think that Taylor Swift is unique. So, I don't think she needed to do that. That's all I'm saying. I agree. And Taylor singing about that that kind of content, her her boyfriend's D or whatever you want to call it. You You don't expect that from her. It would be like Judy Franco taking a liberal viewpoint. Yeah, that's right. It's offputting. It's offputting 100%. I agree. And also, here's the difference, too. Millions of redblooded American men have looked at Taylor and imagined what it would be like to do some of the stuff she's talking about in that song. Okay. Right. I'm not going to say the same about Cardi B or Nicki Minaj. They don't have the body of work she has. They haven't been around as long as she has. Um, and as far as I'm concerned, that song especially proves that I'm saying Taylor Taylor's song now makes it look like she wants people to look at her like that. Well, we already did, dumbbell. Well, we already knew that she had a boyfriend. We know you had sex. Oh, you had 40 boyfriends. We get it. You have a vagina. Congratulations. We're very happy for you. Your husband has a penis. Great. It's going to work out beautifully for you guys. Other people would say that she's always written about her life in that moment, whether it was a high school romance or sex with her fiance. I mean, she's always written about what was happening in her life at that time. So, I guess we should I never heard sex her about any of the other Well, no, no, no, no. I mean, she would sing about like romance in a, you know, hey, he's wearing my ring kind of thing or whatever it might be. You know what I mean? the innocence of of romance in high school and and maybe breakups and bad boyfriends and all these things that people that hate on her and all that stuff. And this is not hate at all. This is just surprise that she would go that far with the song. Yeah. Yeah. I don't hate her, but I I it's I'm not listening to it. Nicole is in PA. She's got a comment for us, right? She Oh, she's not ready yet. She's being proud. She's green. Yeah. All right. So, we'll give her a minute. Um, a lot of people on our app chat chiming in now. I still love her. No problem. Um, Fran Woodbury Heights says, "Why are you not taking calls? Stop talking about his penis. Who cares?" Well, that's what the song's about. And that's sort of our topic this hour. And her and whether you love or hate Taylor, just let us know. We'll put on as many calls that come in. Um, Cat in Union. I like her. I guess she wants everyone to know she's a 35-year-old woman with the wood song. Yeah, we get it. We know. Um, okay. So, we're going to hear from Jennifer in a minute. She is I I really want to hear this opinion, but I think we have to wait, don't we? For Nicole and Jennifer, we have news. You guys hang on a second cuz they're going to kill me if I don't go to the news. And they are nasty nasty people in that room. Jen's very fiery. Very fiery. Oh, you don't know. Yeah, it's a nightmare. All right. All right. Wrap it up. Let's go. See that? Come on. 130. invincible just a couple times. I do like the songs I've heard on the Taylor Swift album, The Life of a Showgirl. It's selling bonkers. She's breaking her own records. Might be one or two songs on there, especially one called Wood that has questionable lyrics, but you know, I mean, when it came out, I first heard it for the first time Friday, I was super surprised that she put a song out like that. So, are you a Taylor Swift fan? Uh, are you a Swifty? Or maybe you're not. 18003 to do with the song. I'm sorry, EJ. Okay. Does it have to do with the song so much as just in general? We're trying to get a handsle on what people think about Taylor because supposedly I don't have the statistics in front of me, but I think you do, EJ. Like, what are the We are one of the most mid on Taylor Swift states in the country. We don't care. Yeah. She's not in the top 10 of uh of like uh across the country. She's really not. And the funny thing is she has roots here. She's vacationed in Stone Harbor. When she was a really little kid, she would perform at 76ers games, won the national anthem. She's from um Burks County, Pennsylvania. So, there is sort of like a regional local thing with her. But u we did see stats today where Jersey is not in the top 10 of states that really ador Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift. All right, let's go to uh Jennifer in Hunteran and tell us about Hi, Jen. You're a big uh Swifty. Uh, you know, I'm a later in life Swifty fan because I had teenage daughters um that were fans. Yep. Yeah. So, I I actually, you know, I always would hear songs here or there and be like, "Oh, I like that one." Um, but when she came out with the Easer, my daughter and her friends went and that kind of reintroduced Taylor to me um and whatnot. So, I'm I'm not like a lifelong Swifty or anything. Uh, but I definitely have thoughts on wood. Um, okay. So, here's the thing. If if you look at Taylor Swift, which which I actually have a lot in the last couple of years, and you look at her body of work, she has a huge range as a lyricist. She is funny and cheeky and witty and does these light-hearted songs that are just all about fun. She has these ballads that are heartbreaking and gut-wrenching and everything in between. Um, and I actually saw an interview with her once where she talked about in high school that writing music became interesting to her when she thought about syllables and different sounds and how you could work them together. So, this this girl was an artist and Absolutely. Yeah. So, for me, when I I heard the main line um about wood that everyone was talking about, and I went, "Oh gosh, I've got to hear this. I've got to hear this whole song." If you listen to the whole song, it's genius. She's talking about superstitions. She's talking about flowers and pulling the petals off the flower. You love me, you love me not. She's talking about pennies. She's talking about, you know, this is a love story that she knows she doesn't have to play into those superstitions anymore. she doesn't have to knock on wood anymore to hope that it's going to work. So, there's a whole buildup of a story and because she is masterful because she is 35 and she has well established herself and can kind of do what she wants in a way, she throws the zinger in there about the redwood and where she's at in life right now. And why not? And then there's the whole line about the love and the thighs and what are you talking about? She says it's not just the redwood. It's not just the redwood line. Yep. There's a magic wand. Girls, I don't need to catch the bouquet to know a hard rock is on the way. Come on. A hard rock. That's a ring. That's a ring. And that's what I'm talking about. She is brilliant with the way she sucks us in with that. She's using metaphors and plays on words in all these different ways. And yes, is it a bit racy? Is it a bit cheeky? Absolutely. But guys, she's been around a long time. She's 35. She's doing her thing. And right now, at this particular point in her life, after a lot of dating and different things, she's found a love that is making her happy. So, go for it. Now, as far as sitting in a movie theater with eight-year-old daughters and all of this stuff, a friend and I were just talking about movie Greece and how all of the lyrics in Greece went over our heads till we were about 40 years old. Okay. And what's going to happen? Seriously. Seriously, seriously. Agreed. I had the same exact experience with Greece. But when somebody says, I can give a bunch of different um explanations for some of the Greece songs, but I can't imagine what I would say to my 9-year-old daughter who asks, "What does it mean when she says, "His love was the key to open my thighs." You know what? That's up to each individual parent and how they want to approach that. Okay. Okay, Jennifer, I can't wait to hear this. Wait, no, no, no, come up with a good one. Tell me what you would say. What would I say to my kid? Well, we had a pretty um open household as far as faith, religion, really controversial topics at our dinner table, the death penalty, and I'm talking my kids had a range of five years between them. So these conversations started when my oldest was 11 and my youngest was six. And in many ways he was the the beneficiary most of all because there were certain conversations that started with him very young. And so you know what I would probably depending on the age or whatnot I might say you know that's kind of about something that moms and dads or people in relationships might do. I would just say something like that, like don't make it a huge deal. And I'm guessing that you're gonna get a 50-50 shot if a nine-year-old is actually going to hear that line word for word and actually ask about it. Now, if your 12-year-old does, they do. And you're going to be a lot better to talk to them about it than to try and brush it under the rust. How old are your kids now? My kids are 21, 19, and 16, and they're normal. Uh, no. No kid is normal. No kid is normal. You guys aren't normal. I'm not normal. They are my kids. Jennifer, are you I just want to say one thing. If my kid asks me, "What does that mean?" And she says it more than once, by the way, that line. Yep. Um, I would seriously kill myself. Like, my kids in this day and age would not be listening to that. Well, and that's the thing, too. We all as parents have a choice at a certain point because we're working against some tough odds in school and with phones and all of that, right? No, absolutely. And you know what? You're working against these odds when your kids go to church youth group just as much as when they're at the high school football game. Let's not like try and pretend that you can protect them and certain you can't protect them from everything. But I certainly would not take my kid now to a Taylor Swift concert because all good then more for me and my 47year-old friends, right? Like all good. But I and here's the deal, guys. I homeschooled my kids for 10 years, right? I'm I'm a real, you know, we had great conversations. We were open. We talked about things. And are my kids normal? No, they're not. I'm not normal. None of us are. We're all flawed human beings. But at the end of the day, my kids know they can come to me with anything and they know the door is always open to our home and everyone around them. Listen, listen, it's a different parenting style. Um, I don't believe in talking to kids about sex at 8 years old. I just don't. But God talking about you're not talking It's not necessarily talking about sex. Really? What else does my the key that opens my thighs mean? She needs a bikini wax. thing is when my it's the same thing as when my six-year-old asked, you know, when she was six and wanted to know about where babies came or had questions about her body versus boys and girls, right? Boys and girls are different. Sometimes at that time, we framed it in the context of marriage. You know, this is something moms and dads are. Okay. So, Jennifer, listen. You sound beautiful. You sound lovely. And I'm sure you brought up beautiful kids. This this song is and so did I. I have four kids. I have 12 grandkids. I want to tell you something. I never once had to say to a kid or a grandkid to explain to them what does it mean when you say when she says his his love it has the key to open my thighs. It's it's nauseating. It's nauseating. And as open as beautiful as lovely as it is and sex between a mommy and a daddy blah blah blah. What she's singing is not beautiful. It's smut. Yeah. Sorry. As much as we like Taylor Swift. Here's the problem, guys. A lot of marriages end because people aren't comfortable talking about this stuff. And husbands and wives, my kids will be comfortable with comfortable at not at 8. But I'm sorry, I have to they don't need to be at eight. This is I think you're making it and I I get this. I used to work in radio. You have to go on your show and make things a bigger deal to get No, I'm not making it a bigger deal, Jennifer. I'm a Listen, I'm not making it a bigger deal. I think a lot of what you're saying may have worked for you. It is not at all the way I would ever bring up my kids. And I'm sure you did a beautiful job. You and I have completely opposite philosophies. That's all. Yep. Yep. And that is all good. Beautiful. We agree to disagree. It's all good. Jennifer, thanks for calling New Jersey 101.5. Got to take a break now. Weather, traffic, and your call next. And now Judy and EJ show, New Jersey 101.5 talking about the new Taylor Swift album that came out on Friday. Uh specifically the song Wood, which has been the uh the popular topic of conversation this hour. Nicole, I think she's a bit disappointed by Hey Nicole, thanks for checking in New Jersey 101.5. Hi, thank you so much. I am so glad someone besides me is talking about this. Um, so this is the first album out of all of them that I had to rewind this song and another one called um, Father Figure because I said to myself, "Wait, did I just hear that right, what she just said?" And I couldn't believe it. And what I heard was correct. And it was, to use your words from earlier, it was crude. And I was so sad about that because that's just not her. Yeah. We didn't expect that from her, right? And then when I was the same way and I've been around Taylor, well, not around her, but around her music her whole career and in radio a long time, heard lots of songs. I didn't expect that song from that artist. That's what it was. I didn't expect it at this point in her career. I feel like she didn't need to at this point in her career. Right. And then the other caller made me think though that maybe maybe her thinking was at this point in my career, who cares? Let me just do whatever. But either way, I I just I'm saddened by it. And then this is the song that everyone is going to associate with her husband to be. And she has written beautiful ballads about so many other people, guys and non-romantic people. But this is going to be the song, the Travis Penis song. Yes. Yes. Travis Penis song. Nicole, so much. Yes. I am thrilled that you called today. Thank you so much. And Jennifer, please feel free to call back anytime, even though I vehemently disagree with you. You sound like a lovely person. I need a nap. 156. We all need a nap. I'm full of cheese. A little break. I'm so full of cheese right now. Thank you, boys. I've had such a great day with you. Great show. I'll see you in again and I'm going to be off for a couple days, but Daminsky and more are next. So, enjoy the rest of this gorgeous day. Thank you.
