BRICK — An Ocean County doctor, his daughter and her 2-year-old girl died in a plane crash in upstate New York on Monday night.
A Piper Aerostar was reported down during takeoff from Adirondack Regional Airport in Harrietstown around 10:35 p.m, according to New York State Police. The plane was about 100 feet off the ground when it crashed.
Search crews located the wreckage of the plane near the airport. It was destroyed by the impact and fire.

Pilot founded Jasper Spine Institute of Brick
The pilot was identified as Dr. Gabriele P. Jasper, 70, of Toms River. His daughter Gabriella M. Hillgrube, 33, and granddaughter Guiliana M. Hillgrube, 2, of the Forked River section of Lacey, were passengers. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.
Dr. Jasper is the founder of the Jasper Spine Institute of Brick.
A preliminary investigation by the FAA has determined the crash was accidental, according to MyNBC5-WPTZ TV.
