May 30th, 2004 - Madonna was found guilty in a lawsuit for duplicating content from French photographer Guy Burton, which she used for her 'Hollywood' music video. She was forced to pay nearly 500,000.

May 31st, 1968 - Working on what will become The White album, Yoko Ono attends her first session with The Beatles. Adding overdubs of bass and vocals on ‘Revolution’, and the final six minutes of the song evolving into chaotic jamming with John Lennon repeatedly shouting “alright” and Yoko speaking random phrases.

June 1st, 1985 - Bruce Springsteen kicks off the European leg of his Born in the USA world tour in Dublin, Ireland. This would be his longest and most successful tour to date.

June 2nd, 1984 - Wham! had their first No.1 with ‘Wake Me Up Before You Go Go.’ Written and produced by George Michael. The song was born from a note which Andrew Ridgeley, the other half of Wham!, left for his parents reading “Wake me up up before you go.” The typo on the note inspired the duo to double up the “go” in the song.

June 3rd, 1970 - The Kinks, Ray Davies made a 6,000 mile round trip from New York to London to record the word “cherry” in a song. Davies had to change the word ‘Coca- Cola’ to ‘Cherry Cola’ on the bands forthcoming single ‘Lola’ to qualify for airplay on BBC.

June 4th, 1975 - The Rolling Stones became the first rock band to receive royalties from the sale of their records in Russia.

June 5th, 1971 - Grand Funk Railroad smash the record previously held by The Beatles when they sell out their upcoming concert at Shea Stadium in just 72 hours.
