The #BlanketProject is a great local charity for the holidays
This is the time of year when we get to see the best in our fellow humans!! Holiday time brings out the giver in all of us. To that end, I like to plug some very worthy charities that are easy for you to participate in this time of year and that are so meaningful to those less fortunate!
The folks from Stat Medical Alert in Ocean Township are helping to put together an amazing project to help the homeless. It’s called the Blanket Project, known on Twitter with the hashtag #blanketproject.
The program collects new blankets to distribute to the homeless shelter called Jersey Shore Rescue Mission. Think about times during sub zero weather when you were warm and cozy by the fire or under your covers. Now think of how much you take a warm blanket for granted. The blanket project does not.
They consider the luxury of a new blanket and how some people literally cannot afford one. It’s an easy way for you to help someone who’s really suffering during the cold winter months. The shelter is located on Memorial Drive in Asbury Park.
Please drop new blankets off at the Jersey Shore Rescue Mission at 701 Memorial Drive, Asbury Park now Through January 2nd, or for pick-up information, go to Stat Medical Alert, and have a warm and healthy holiday season!
