The Boss made his way to the nation's capital recently to perform a private show for Barack Obama, his family, and members of his staff at the White House. I have always wondered what it would take to have Bruce Springsteen perform for me and a group of my friends and family. Now I know. All I need to do is serve two terms as leader of the free world.

According to the Bruce Springsteen fan site Backstreets.com, Springsteen was accompanied only by his wife and bandmate Patti Scialfa, and the setlist was crafted to be highly thematic. You can read the Backstreets writer's full account of the private show here.

The setlist for Bruce Springsteen's private White House performance:

1. "Working on the Highway"
2. "Growin' Up"
3. "My Hometown"
4. "My Father's House"
5. "The Wish"
6. "Thunder Road"
7. "The Promised Land"
8. "Born in the U.S.A."
9. "Devils & Dust"
10. "Tougher Than the Rest" (with Patti Scialfa)
11. "If I Should Fall Behind" (with Patti Scialfa)
12. "The Ghost of Tom Joad"
13. "Long Walk Home"
14. "Dancing in the Dark"
15. "Land of Hope and Dreams"

That's fifteen songs of career-spanning material, from the coming of age tales of 1973's "Growin' Up" to the emotional and politically charged "Long Walk Home" from his 2007 album Magic.
