Every day I spend a few hours reading and learning so I can better serve our community. As I write this, we are in Day 432 of 15 days to stop the spread. It's maddening considering that the rest of the country is open, unmasked and two-thirds of the country have not taken the COVID vax. Thankfully people are rising up in NJ.

A great show of strength on Thursday helped crush the effort of the governor to have his emergency powers made permanent and on Friday, parents, students and elected officials, plus one of the top contenders for the GOP nomination for governor, Phil Rizzo, showed their frustration and anger about forcing experimental drugs on kids. One of the important things that came out of the victory on Thursday is the fact that Democrats were willing to fight back against their own leadership. One voice of courage who has been standing up for families and regular people throughout his career is Jamel Holley. He's running for the state Senate and could use your help.

NJ towns that actually cut property taxes in 2020

New Jersey property taxes went up by $158 for the average homeowner last year, making the average residential property tax bill $9,111. Here are the municipalities that saw their average tax bill decrease.
