Shark week in New Jersey!

Five guys from Jersey (and one from PA.) celebrated the beginning of Shark Week by landing a 926 lb. Mako shark in the Hudson Canyon way off the coast of New Jersey over the weekend. They weighed the giant 12 foot beast at Hoffman's Marina in Manasquan on Saturday. That's real shark excitement!

The hype surrounding over-rated Olympian stoner Michael Phelps this past weekend on the Discovery Channel was predictable nonsense. Yeah the guy swims really well and really fast. No, he can't out swim a great white shark. We were led to believe he was going to swim against the shark somehow. I was hoping for a close up encounter between the two, but it was just a simulation in separate staged venues. Pity. That would have finally been worth my time watching Michael Phelps.
