STATEN ISLAND — A Sayreville woman was given two doses of Narcan after she was found unconscious in a car with her crying infant son on Saturday night.

Katelyn Cox, 24 was found parked in the parking lot of a shopping center on Arthur Kill Road with her 3-month-old son crying in the back seat around 8 p.m., according to the New York Daily News. Police took both to Staten Island University Hospital, where Cox admitted she had used heroin, according to the report.

The child was turned over to New York's Administration for Children's Services.

Cox was charged with operating a motor vehicle impaired and acting in a manner injurious to a child, among other charges, according to the report.
