Can it get any worse for the New York Giants? After benching number one draft choice Eli Apple — who had been horrendous for part of Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Chargers — Defensive back Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie went into work Wednesday morning...and then decided to leave the team.

ESPN's Adam Shefter reported that Cromartie's departure stems from an outburst on the sidelines during last Sunday's Giants loss to the San Diego Chargers and he will not be gone for long.

The Giants are already depleted when it comes to wide receivers with the losses of Odell Beckham Jr., Brandon Marshall and Sterling Shepherd.

The 0-5 Giants play the Broncos Sunday night in Denver.
