Powerball jackpot grows to $435 million

TRENTON — The Powerball jackpot has gone without a winner for a 19th drawing in a row, and is growing to an annuity value of $435 million for the next drawing.

No one matched the five numbers, and Powerball, drawn for Wednesday night: 5, 21, 57, 66, and 69, with a Powerball of 13 and a Power Play of 3.

One winning ticket in New Jersey matched four numbers and the Powerball, good for a $50,000 prize, which could be tripled if the ticket holder added the Power Play.

The next jackpot, which is Saturday night at 10:59 p.m., will have a cash value of $273.1 million. If the winner chooses to take the annuity jackpot, it would be the seventh-largest jackpot won in Powerball history.

The odds of winning the jackpot are 1-in-292 million.

New Jersey Lottery spokeswoman Judith Drucker said that since the last Powerball jackpot was won on April 1, New Jersey players won more than $6.259 million, not counting last night's drawing, including 18 $50,000 prize winners. Two New Jersey players, on May 6 and May 10, won $1 million prizes by matching five numbers without the powerball.

The new annuity value of the jackpot exceeds the $429 million won by New Jersey's last Powerball jackpot winners, the Smith family of Trenton, who won $429 million last May.
