The days could be numbered for a once-popular South Jersey diner.

The Maple Shade Zoning Board is scheduled to consider a proposal on Jan. 11 that would demolish the New Golden Dawn Diner on Route 38 to make room for a parking lot for Elite Acura, according to a CourierPostOnline.com report.

The diner, which closed its doors in 2013 after a fire, was once a popular restaurant in the town, and some former patrons had hoped it would reopen, according to the report.

The car dealership took over the land that was once home to the Crossroads Motel.
