When we've talked about this on the air, several people gave the same tip. You have at least another 10 miles after what your gas gauge is telling you. Cutting it close when you have 20 minutes before you go on the air for a live radio show is not the time to test this theory. It used to be you had no real idea how many miles you were from your destination, but now with GPS you get the exact mileage. It can keep the ride to work in the morning pretty interesting.
