Bruce Springsteen has released “Meet Me in the City,” a previously unheard track from his upcoming four-CD, three-DVD box set The Ties That Bind: The River Collection.

“Meet Me in the City” is a rollicking, up-tempo rocker, with heavy doses of organ and plenty of guitar twang, reminiscent of the late '70s and early '80s era of the E Street Band, that will be highlighted in the upcoming release.

The new track is one of 52 songs set to be included in the box set, which will also contain four hours of previously unseen archival and live performance footage. A 148-page coffee table book with 200 rare photos is also part of the set.

This isn’t the first time The Boss has gone back to previously unreleased material. In 2010, he received commercial and critical acclaim for The Promise, a double album of previously unreleased music from the Darkness on the Edge of Town sessions which also included a documentary of the album’s creation as part of a box set.

He celebrated the 30th anniversary of the release of Born to Run in 2005 with a box set that included a concert DVD from Springsteen’s legendary 1975 Hammersmith Odeon performance in London.

The Ties That Bind: The River Collection will be available on Dec. 4 on Columbia Records.
