Motorcycle crash slows afternoon commute on Route 287
EDISON — The investigation into a motorcycle crash on Route 287 will have an effect on Monday's afternoon commute.
The serious crash between a car and motorcycle around 2:20 p.m. temporarily closed the southbound lanes near Exit 3 for New Durham Road in Edison, according to State Police spokesman Alejandro Goez. The left lane remains blocked at the crash scene as the Fatal Accident and Crime Scene Investigation Units conduct an investigation.
Traffic remained heavy southbound with a multi-mile rubbernecking delay heading northbound.
Goez said the driver of the motorcycle was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He did not know the circumstances that led to the crash.
