A Virginia man turned on his cell phone’s audio record feature so he wouldn’t miss any pre-colonoscopy instructions and inadvertently left it on during the procedure. When he listened to it on the way home, he was shocked at what the physicians said about him.

They openly mocked him and his manhood, falsified a medical condition just to be mean and talked about how they would like to punch him and/or avoid him. It was all on tape, so the physicians really had no defense; the jury awarded the man $100,000 for defamation ($50,000 each for saying he had syphillis and tuberculosis), $200,000 for medical malpractice, and $200,000 punitive damages.
