In case of a nuclear attack, people used to say, bend over, put your head between your legs and kiss your backside goodbye.

"Maybe it's time to consider that kiss" says Jim Gearhart in the latest installment of the Jim Gearhart Show podcast, available here, on iTunes and Google Play.

Jim was aghast to read the accounts from women’s rights activists Ayaan Hirsi Ali and Asra Nomani — both of whom rail against the impact Islamist extremism has on women — when they spoke to a Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.

Only a week earlier, Democratic Senator Kamala Harris of California was the subject of headlines — when Republican colleagues repeatedly interrupted her as she tried to question Jeff Sessions. But Ali and Nomani wrote in the New York Times the same level of disrespect when Harris and three other female, liberal senators refused to ask them a single question on political Islam during a hearing last month.

Sen. Claire McCaskill had indeed questioned the premise of the hearing, according to the column:

“We should not focus on religion,” she said, adding that she was “worried” that the hearing, organized by Senator Ron Johnson, a Republican from Wisconsin, would “underline that.”

"They all claim to be steadfast warriors against any oppression of women. And yet these four senators treated these extraordinary women sitting before them with icy silence and a rather disgusting disrespect," Jim says.

That's not the only story Jim's got lined up. Check out the podcast to hear the rest. Email Jim at Jim@NJ1015.com.
