Helping to make sense of healthcare with facts

Congressman Chris Smith joined me in studio today to clear up some of the #FakeNews being spread about the dissolution of Obamacare.

The most important takeaway is that 20 million people are not losing health insurance. nearly 15 million of the figure being spread around to stir up fear and loathing for the new Administration are eligible for Medicaid. He was clear that the real conversation needs to be about the implementation of the replacement program which will allow for greater access and lower costs for health insurance.

Remember the average premium went up 25% according to Smith under the Affordable Care Act and many media outlets leave out the incredibly high deductibles that low income workers simply can't afford. Some are as high as $5,000 according to the Congressman.
