NEWARK — A Bergen County woman has been charged with distributing methamphetamine from a hotel room.
Garfield woman accused of running meth operation from Fairfield hotel
According to court documents in the federal case, law enforcement began investigating Brittany Malsch, 38, of Garfield, for her role in distributing meth from a hotel room in Fairfield, Essex County.

After confirming that Malsch was living in the hotel room, law enforcement found multiple bags of suspected crystal meth, as well as drug paraphernalia, including packaging materials. They also confiscated more than $1,700 in cash.
Search warrant uncovers suspected crystal meth and cash
Malsch was charged by complaint with possession with intent to distribute over 50 grams of methamphetamine.
She had her initial appearance in federal court, where the judge ordered Malsch to be held in jail.
Federal meth charge carries mandatory prison sentence
Malsch faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and up to a $10 million fine.
