The Philadelphia Eagles have traded cornerback Asante Samuel to the Atlanta Falcons for a 7th round draft choice.

Samuel has agreed to a 3 year $18.5 million dollar contract according to  Albert Breer of the NFL Network. The deal constitutes a pay cut for Samuel, who was slated to earn $21.3 million dollars over the next 2 years in Philadelphia.

A 4 time Pro Bowler, Samuel has 45 career interceptions with 5 touchdowns. He has won 2 Super Bowls with the New England Patriots.

Is this a good move for the Eagles? Is a draft choice a better option to get them back on track rather than a proven player? How much will the Eagles defense miss Assante Samuel?
