Christie sends daughter to Notre Dame University
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and his wife have packed up their daughter, Sarah, and her belongings and headed for South Bend, Indiana.
They're helping the 18-year-old settle in as a freshman at the University of Notre Dame. During an appearance in Chicago, Christie joked recently, “Like it or not, you’re going to see a lot more of me at Midway and O’Hare to make the drive to South Bend" according to NJ.com.
The governor is close friends with Notre Dame men's basketball coach Mike Brey. Several months after Superstorm Sandy, he presented Christie with a $10,000 donation to the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund raised in an auction by the university's athletic department. Brey coached Christie when he played basketball for the University of Delaware.
The Christie's oldest child, 20-year-old Andrew, will begin his third year at Princeton University.
The couple has two other children: 14-year-old Patrick and 10-year-old Bridget.
