Christie opens music hall, invokes his love of the ‘Boss’
Gov. Chris Christie connected his love for Bruce Springsteen to the importance of arts education as he marked the opening of a university music hall.
Christie said Thursday that music and the "Boss" have been a huge part of his life at an event to mark the opening of a new music hall at the Westminster Choir College in Princeton.
Christie has seen Springsteen in concert more than 100 times and most recently was captured air-drumming and singing in a series of videos posted to social media from a Brooklyn concert.
He says music is "another path to happiness" and that it's important to highlight music education, not just science and engineering.
The Marion Buckelew Cullen Center at Rider University's Westminster Choir College opened thanks to $4.2 million from a higher education bonding act.
