If you're looking for the best sandwich in New Jersey look no further that the White House Sub Shop in Atlantic City. "The Italian" has been voted "best Sandwich in New Jersey" by the Daily Meal, which is a national website known for their rankings of food and drink.

Not long ago, I took the family there and spoke to Tony, who's been making subs at White House Subs for over 40 years. He revealed what makes the Garden State's "best sandwich" so great.

"All the meats are imported and the produce is fresh daily, and because of the turnover nothing really lasts very long," he said. But it all starts with the bread. "Our bread is delivered multiple times a day many times hot out of the oven."

What I like about the sub is the way they put the meat outside and the produce inside so it doesn't fall all over. Among the many famous Jersey celebrities who have enjoyed the Italian sub was Whitney Houston, who's picture is one of the many that adorns the walls at White House Subs, which first opened in 1946.

Tony quotes the old saying, "success breeds stability, stability breeds success."
