3 New Jersey Arcades Ranked Among The Best In The US

It can’t just be me… entering an arcade immediately brings out my inner child. The lights, the sounds, the variety of games to play, it all combines to form a sort of mental sugar rush.

It’s possible I feel this way because New Jersey is home to some of the best arcades in all of America, according to a new study.

The site SIXT analyzed over 200 locations, looking at factors like arcade size, number of games, search volume, food options, VR or themed attractions, and unlimited play passes to identify where the best arcades are in the country.

Move over, other states, three New Jersey arcades made the top five — that’s how serious we are about our video games. Here are the spots in the Garden State that stood out above the rest:

Lucky Snake Arcade

Known for being vibrant and high energy atmosphere, Lucky Snake combines a large game floor (with over 800 games) and a full kitchen. Sixt describes it as “a lively spot where nostalgia meets modern entertainment in a visually striking setting.”

Lucky Snake is in Showboat Resort, located at 801 Boardwalk in Atlantic City, NJ.

Silverball Museum

Located right on the Asbury Park boardwalk, Silverball is the perfect spot to take a break from your beach day to cool down and play some of your favorite games.

Silverball features hundreds of classic pinball machines and vintage arcade games for your enjoyment.

Personally, I’m a fan of the Wizard of Oz themed pinball machine, even though I am one of those terrible pinball players who just hits the buttons aggressively without much strategy. Skill-level aside, it’s a fun time.

Activate Games

With a nostalgic blend of physical challenges and interactive digital gameplay, Activate Games creates a game-show-like experience.

It goes beyond a traditional arcade, offering an all-you-can-play format that feels more like stepping inside a real-life video game.

Activate Games can be found on Level 1 (Space A156) in the American Dream Mall at 1 American Dream Way, East Rutherford, NJ.
