Bail Raised For Man Accused in Jersey City Attack
Bail has been raised to $500,000 for a New Jersey man accused of beating his ex-girlfriend and pushing her out of a third-floor window with their infant son in her arms.
A judge approved the increase Wednesday as 19-year-old Frederico Bruno was arraigned on attempted murder charges.
Those counts stem from the alleged attack on his ex-girlfriend and another woman, who were repeatedly stabbed during the attack early Friday in Jersey City. But Bruno's expected to face upgraded charges following the death of his 3-month-old son on Tuesday.
The Jersey Journal reported that Bruno blurted out "it's a lie" as the judge read the complaint against him. But Bruno's public defender cut him off and advised him to remain silent.
The child's mother remains in a medically induced coma.
