New Jerseyans who weathered a pretty torrential downpour Tuesday afternoon were rewarded with an amazing sight - a rainbow appeared just as the showers came to an end.

The NJ 101.5 staff rushed outside to take pictures, as New Jersey residents throughout the area took to social media to share their pics.

The rainbow followed a strong line of thunderstorms that's dumping some much-needed rain across the Garden State, according to Townsquare Meteorologist Dan Zarrow. The storms are predicted to continue through part of the evening.

The National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for most of the state until 9 p.m. Some storms could see 70 mph winds and 1-inch hail.
