Woodbridge Cops Get Lots of Help in Burglary Shooting
Two alleged burglars picked a bad time to break in to an apartment in Woodbridge, N.J. and then shoot a man who walked in on them.
Woodbridge police say a joint exercise involving New Jersey State Police and Homeland Security personnel was under way nearby Friday.
As a result, a SWAT team, Homeland Security officers, a helicopter and a state police canine unit all joined in the search for the suspects.
Two men from Newark were under arrest by the afternoon. A police dog traced the scent of one suspect to a garbage bin, where he was apprehended.
Police say the wounded man's injuries were not life-threatening.
