A 51-year-old Newark woman suffered injuries after being attacked by a pit bull on a city street Saturday, according to reports.

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose told NJ Advance Media that the woman was bitten outside her Leslie Street home by a dog belonging to a neighbor. She suffered several injuries including a possible broken arm and was hospitalized, the story states.

Charges have not yet been filed and the case is under investigation, according to NJ Advance Media.

The incident is the second reported pit bull attack the state has seen in recent weeks. On March 25, an 11-month-old girl was mauled by a dog believed to be a pit bull in Nutley. The attack happened when the girl’s mother was taking the infant for a walk. The child suffered injuries requiring her to receive 70 stitches and undergo plastic surgery.
