What bugs Dennis about New Jersey? — The strange bugs!
One of the few things I'm looking forward to in the coming colder weather of winter is... NO MORE BUGS!
I read a story on NJ.com Monday about stink bugs in New Jersey and how to spot them and get rid of them. We are among about 6 states in the mid-Atlantic region that is severely affected by stink bugs.
There were no stink bugs when I was a kid. There were ticks, but they were in the middle of the woods and there was no Lyme Disease. I never heard of a "cave cricket" until I was accosted by one in my basement a few years ago. Have you seen one of these things? Terrifying!
It seems every year there is a new bug in our area that I've never seen before, and I spend a lot of time outdoors! This morning I went out to my car and found a stowaway on the wheel well.
What the hell is that?
I think he was upside down and it might be a praying mantis. You can't kill them but you can drive away and hope he gets the hint!
