As gunshots rang out near Dickinson High School in Jersey City — leaving one 18-year-old student injured and another eventually facing charges — screaming students ran from the building Tuesday.
The running students are seen in a video obtained by the Jersey Journal and first published Thursday on NJ.com. As described by the Jersey Journal, students gather around the corner of the school, seeming to know a fight is about to start. But when a gunman opens fire — with the first of at least seven shots — chaos breaks out.
Jefferson Sencion has been charged with weapons offenses related and with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, among other charges. Police have said the victim was shot on nearby Chestnut avenue Tuesday at around 2 p.m. after a dispute in the Palisade Avenue School.
