Flu shot opinions spark lively debate on health and safety
The importance of flu shots has long been a topic of debate, particularly in light of varying opinions shaped by personal experiences and widely circulating information. Many individuals express skepticism toward vaccines, influenced by perceived negative side effects or doubts about their efficacy. Others, however, emphasize the critical role of flu shots, especially for at-risk populations, pointing to personal health histories such as type 1 diabetes or a history of cancer as compelling reasons to get vaccinated.
The conversation around flu shots often sees individuals weighing their decisions against anecdotal evidence and scientific recommendations. For instance, while some people have reported adverse reactions linked to vaccines, many others find that the benefits far outweigh the risks, particularly in terms of public health. As the flu season approaches, the frequency of discussions regarding vaccination becomes even more pronounced.
Asserting a need for healthy practices, some experts recommend individuals receive their flu shots as early as September or October. The standard narrative is that flu vaccines can reduce the likelihood of severe illness, hospitalization, and flu-related complications. However, significant skepticism remains in the community regarding the timing and effectiveness of these vaccines.
For many, the prospect of receiving a flu shot is fraught with uncertainty, leading to a range of potential responses. Questions arise: How long does the protection provided by a flu shot last? Will the vaccine be effective against the strains circulating that season? These lingering questions drive some individuals to forgo flu shots altogether.
Additionally, some patients have had experiences that shape their views on vaccinations. For example, individuals who have previously suffered adverse effects from vaccines or those who know of someone who has can find themselves hesitant to receive the shot. Conversations within families may also reflect a mixed bag of views on flu vaccines, leading to decisions driven by a combination of personal beliefs, health considerations, and even peer pressure.
For those in favor of receiving flu shots, reminders about their role in safeguarding health are critical. Health officials advocate for vaccination as not merely a personal choice but as a collective responsibility aimed at protecting vulnerable populations. Ensuring herd immunity can help alleviate the strain on health care systems and safeguard those unable to receive vaccines for medical reasons.
Ultimately, the ongoing debate illustrates the diverse perspectives that individuals hold regarding flu shots, grounded in personal narratives, health experiences, and broader social influences. As flu season approaches, the conversation about vaccination remains not just relevant but necessary for public health awareness and individual decision-making.

Screams New Jersey. Super nerdy about it. I literally like this is I Jeff, I swear on Jurassic Park, this is 100% true. I do wake up and like already have this in my head. Wade, could I if I may, Wade? Like I picked the pieces, but Wade Wiser put it together. Yes. And I know that's a name people don't know because you know what? Like much entertainment and we, as you know, are the lowest wrong on the entertainment ladder in radio, but Wade But Wade was like uh the magician that like actually put it together. I picked him, but he like put it together. Yes. He's our production wizard. I just love that. And like I keep thinking like take this out, take that out, make this short, but it's like oh my god. I don't know. It's such like it's like a love letter to New Jersey. I just love that. I don't know. It's like weird how often I wake up with this already in my head. Which part? From the beginning or like in the middle? Um usually it's uh cuz down the shore everything's all right. Nice. Nice. That's a bad thing to wake up to. Spend their weekends on the Jersey Shore. Yeah. See, that's the one part I would like to throw over because I know you love it. I know. I know. That's not It is a two-person show here. All right. So, anyway, speaking of that, we are Daminsky and more. I'm Jeff Deinsky. I'm Kylie Moore. And I'm trying to figure out what impression I'm going to have you read the cash code. Oh, come on. Are we said we would do it for the $10,000? All right. All right. If we're doing it, I've got one for you later cuz I know I'm I've been intending to do the first one, but I got to come up with a second one for you for the uh five o'clock. So, yeah, you've only got about six minutes to come up with this, give or take. Well, I have one of yours that I like, but I don't know if it's a default. You know, you know, I'm writing it down. Whatever. Uh, and what she's talking about is the at work payday. Now, normally it's $1,000. Today, very special day. The second time we're doing this, it goes all the way to $10,000. So, please be a be along for the ride with us for your own good. Every time we hit one of these, it's going to happen in about 6 minutes. Again, roughly around 3:20. About 420. 420. Blaze it. And around 520. Uh, 420 would be one of yours. Is there a good cylinder that you have? That's nice, man. Well, yeah, but I can't see right away. I want to say, have me do it as Afro Man. I'll sing it. I was going to give out the code, but then I got high. But now you can cuz I'm giving it to you. I'm not ruling it out. I think that I think it's very fun. All right. Anyway, but the codes are coming up. It can mean $10,000. Do not go anywhere, please. And we have a lot of things to uh get to today. Um our phone number is 1 800 283101.5. Now, I hope people don't think I'm too much of a dork for talking about this, but I like Bruce Springsteen, but Jenner Sillo loves Bruce Springsteen. I am not the level of fan that she is, but there's been this thing that's out, and she did this um really cool piece on it that you can read about on nj1015.com. Um, somebody had picked eight landmarks that that are Bruce Springsteen must visit landmarks because of the movie coming out, Deliver Me from Nowhere. And of course, Jeremy Allen White, the actor playing the boss that is coming out um what, next Friday, October 24th, uh, in theaters. I want to see that. I don't think it's going to be that Friday, but maybe the Friday after. But she did a write up on this. And she didn't just include the eight, but she added a few of her own in, which I know you're going to appreciate because one of her own picks, and I can't believe they didn't pick this themselves. She pointed out they never mentioned Jersey Freeze and he huge fan of Jersey Freeze and you yourself almost met him at Jersey Freeze. You missed him by like literally 2 minutes. Jen, I know you're not listening, but good call. Right. Yeah. And and another one that she added in of her own. So, really, honestly, it's like 10 must visit Bruce Springsteen sites. Um, another one she added in is Roberto's, which is uh Oh, in Fieldboro. Right. Right. Right. Right. The Right. Roberto's Freehold Grill. And uh Yeah. And another place I've gone to. Yeah. And the bosses Right. It it used to be under a different name. It changed hands, you know, a few years ago. Yeah. I don't remember. I just know that I went there after my SATs. Oh, no. So, it's been longstanding then. Yeah. Yeah. And The Boss has been there a number of times. Um, but this is a fun read. If you are even a mild Bruce Springsteen fan, it's a very, very fun read. And she has like this almost encyclopedic knowledge about Springsteen. And so she really puts a lot of herself into this, not just the places to go to, but facts that the original article never even had. And um like, okay, here's one, the very first one. 39 and a half Institute Street Freehold. Goofy goofy half number for a street address, right? Mhm. But Springsteen lived in that house in 1958 and that would have put him around 9 years old. He was that little. And um and she even like describes it a white wooden house, porch in the front, big sycamor tree in the yard. And and the point is if you're really a Springsteen fan, and I'm actually considering doing this, this is where I turn into a dork. I'm considering taking this list and on the weekend going to every single place. Oh, that'd be cool. Now, you don't go inside obviously, but I mean, just like park, check it out. Like this is where he was when he was a little kid, you know, and uh another one of course is E Street itself. This is the street where they actually had uh rehearsed on uh when you know and that is how the East Street band got their name. That is East Street in Belmar. Uh, there's 10th Avenue in Belmore, made famous by 10th Avenue freeze out. There's The Stone Pony. There's Convention Hall. There's even Madam Marie with, you know, the fortune teller. She's she's passed away now, but there's a whole write up about that. And I kind of want to do that. I kind of want to do that as a road trip. The only problem is a lot of these are in a in in the central Jersey area, but there's one all the way up and I think it's Hoboken. It's a place that it's not even there. It's like a different place now, but it's the place where it appeared in one of his music videos, but I feel like I wouldn't be pure if I didn't actually go to that as well. So, I'm considering doing that as a road trip. And what I'm getting at is I want to ask, what was the coolest road trip you ever went on? Was it all the way cross country? Was it just like a day trip? Certain spots in New Jersey? Uh certain things that you saw, certain things that happened? Whatever made it the coolest? What was the absolute coolest road trip that you ever had? 1 800283101.5. Here's a look at Fast Traffic. A millions jackpot is rising fast. And that's their life. Good times and noodle salad. Just no one in this car. All right, it is 2:25. Our phone number is 1800. I just wanted to see how far you would go. That was it. Just had to get it out of my system. I had to work out of Nicholson. I'm not saying I do a good one. Uh, all right. So, um, we will do another code next hour and then Kylie is on the hot seat and I know exactly what I'm going to make you do and I'm not telling you ahead of time. All right, but yeah, today's code is $10,000. So, we're just having a little fun with it. So, um, again, Jenner Solo has this article up. You could check it out for yourself. I haven't even read through all of them. Uh, but it's um somebody had posted like like like eight landmark Bruce Springsteen must visits, but she even added to it. Uh, I feel like hers are like much more astute than some of them that were already on the list. And I'm thinking this would be cool to make a road trip. Like I got nothing going on this weekend. And I'm thinking maybe just get in the car and go to every one of these 10 cuz it's 10 with with one she added. and just I don't know take some pictures like one of them is Stone Pony have a beer there. One of them is Roberto's in Freehold have a burger there just like go to all of them. You know what you got to do? What's that? Take a picture in front of each of these locations and have your arm out like this as if you're putting your arm around someone and then Photoshop Bruce into all of them. That would be very dorky but funny. And then I'm not good at photoshopping though, but it would be funny. And a few of them do the arm and around and then like a point with your other hand like look who it is. Hey. And the same pose in every picture. Hey, bring like a change of shirts just so so it seems like to make it seem like it's been 10 different days. I keep running into this guy. I think he's stalking me. He's obsessed with the station. That would be very funny if I knew how to really do a good photo shot that I know. Get our get our digital guy Sergio on it. We'll figure it out. All right. So, um, but I'm just curious though, what is the coolest road trip you were ever on? Even if it's a short one or a really long one. Maybe it was because of places you stopped at. Maybe it's because of something that happened along the way. You know, you had a series of one night stands in Nevada. Hey, whatever. You know, that's between you and your God. 1 800 283101.5. Nate and Madawan, you're on New Jersey 101.5. Good afternoon, Kylie and Jeff. How you doing? Hey, we're good. What's going on? All right, before I get to the road trip, Kylie, I agree with you on the multiple alarms because I do the same thing. That came up a couple. Yep, that came up a couple days ago. But dude, you could be getting better sleep if you just woke up once. Yeah, but it's a gradual buildup to it. So, all right. I'm not gonna We're not going to convince each other. Nate, Nate, I appreciate you. All right. So, I actually did two road trips. Uh last year, my friends and I, we did the entire Northeast. And then last week, we just got back from doing the entire Northwest. Which was pretty cool. Which one was better? Which one was more fun? Honestly, the Northwest because we did a threemile hike on the base of Mount Reneer. No kidding. Nice. Nice. It was a lot of fun. A lot of fun. Did anything crazy happen? Like did you pick up hitchhikers along the way and you thought you were going to get killed or you know? No, fun stuff like that. Nothing crazy. Um we we ate uh we just enjoyed ourselves. We drove around. Then we went down into Oregon. Uh we drove through a rainforest which was really cool. And after that we turned around. We came back. We did the Space Needle and it was a lot of fun. Oh. Okay. They have a rainforest in Oregon. Yeah. I didn't know they had one. It's It's pretty big, too. You can actually um you drive through it and you can walk through it. And it's it's huge. And it's like a legitimate rainforest. Yeah, it's a it's an actual rainforest. I feel stupid not knowing this. I'm also stunned. You're not alone. Yeah, but you didn't know it either until you went out there. No, I had no idea. And all the trees are covered with moss. Um like I said, you could walk through it. How many guys went? I know it was you and your friends. It was me, um, me, my best friend, my friend's friend from college, and then my brother-in-law. Okay. So, that's a good number. So, four of you. And you traded off driving and everything. And at night, did you go to bars, get stinking drunk, have fun? Yeah, we got we got a little drunk every so often. Yeah. I mean, safely. Yeah. I'm not saying, you know, irresponsibly. And real quick, Nate, because we're up against the news, but when you go on road trips like this, do you make a point to not go to chain restaurants like a McDonald's or something like that and make a point to, you know, check out the local venues? Oh, yeah. We don't do chain restaurants. Yeah, cuz it's so homogenized, right? Right. Yeah. Get that local flavor. Yeah. No, I love that for you. Yeah. Thank you so much. Yeah. Thank you for calling New Jersey 101.5. All right. What is a really, really cool uh road trip that you took for whatever reason? 1 800 283101.5. The detective, I've solved many mysteries. All right, real quick before we get back to the road trip stories. I'm getting intimidated about giving next hour's at work payday cash code. You're getting intimidated by what do you mean? Oh, just in general or you're saying you're getting like you are getting praise on the app from your Jack Nicholson impression and and I don't know what impression you're going to make me do. You know why I think I am? Cuz I don't do a great Nicholson. I think it's just because I started sounding like I let myself be Nicholson getting annoyed with you. I think I think that added to it. I think that added to the illusion. I don't know. Paul's saying that you do a pretty damn good Jeff Nicholson impression. Lol. It was funny. And then Jeremy says, "Jeff just sounded like either Jack Nicholson doing an impression of Ronald Reagan or Ronald Reagan doing an impression of Jack Nicholson. Well, well, yeah. And I don't know what impression you're going to make me do when we give away the next cash code at around like 3:20. So, wait a second. I feel like I have a lot to live up to. Hold on. Hold on. Reagan Nicholson, hold on. Nancy, I'm home. Wendy, I'm home. All right. Yeah, they're very close, actually. What do you think of that? All right, Jeremy, you might have unlocked something. All right. 1 800283101.5. What is a cool road trip that you once took and what made it so cool? Calling in from Monroe. Ruben, you're on New Jersey 101.5. Hey guys, good afternoon. You guys are hysterical. You should take this whole routine on the road. You could make some extra bucks. Make some extra bucks. Speaking of road trips, um Oh, speaking of road trips, 1979, long time ago, a buddy and I uh right after college, we were in between jobs. We had a couple of bucks. We left from Brooklyn. We were away for 3 months. We bought a used van. We fixed it up. Uh we drove all around the country. We did 11,000 miles. Um all of the great Wow. Did you count the states? Yeah, we probably did about 35 states. We did the whole We did the co We didn't do the Northwest like the guy earlier did. We stopped as far as San Francisco and then we headed north. We broke down on the Bonnieville saw flats. We had to be towed. There were no um there were no cell phones of course. So we had a walkie-talkie. Um we discovered this place that's become very famous, but back in 1979, this place called Red Rocks, uh we had never heard of it. We discovered it. We fell upon it when we were hiking. And there was this band that you might have heard of that. We found out that someone called the Almond Brothers. We got to see the Yeah, that was pretty cool. We got up. We got pulled over by a state trooper in Las Vegas and had Coke 45s pointed at us. Why? Why? Why? Don't just blow past that. Why did you have guns leveled at you? There was um we were driving a blue out of van and two guys, you know, kind of big, kind of hairy beards, New Yorkers that there was a apparently a holdup, an armed robbery, and it was by a blue van out of state. So they pulled us over and we got out of it and they warned they said uh please leave them um parked because every time you drive someone's going to pull you over and the next trooper might not be as agreeable as the one that pulled us over. So we left the van parked and um we we were fine. We we like how long? Like a few hours a day or two? Like what? No, no, no. They didn't take Oh, thankfully they didn't take us in because if they had checked the van, um my mail would be at Utah Nevada. But I mean, how long did you just like not drive it? I'm saying Oh. Oh. Oh. A couple of days probably, you know, we're on a budget. You know, we were we were doing um Motel 6. You know, we had a million times. Yeah. We had a bed in the van. So, here's two, you know, heterosexual guys sharing a bed in the back of the van. We had a We had a big uh six You like that one, huh? It's just funny. It was It's the way you phrased it. Yeah. We had a big uh we had a six-man tent. So, we we did that. We we sponged off of friends and relatives around the country. Um Oh my god. We had a shotgun pointed at us. Wait a minute. Shotgun. Wait, wait. How did you get a shotgun pointed at you? How how about you? We were We were We were staying in a campground. You know, KOA was very popular back then. So, we were staying at a campground and you know, we're two 24 year old guys. We we met a family that had two teenage daughters. yada yada yada yada. Um so no no no no no no. Please tell me. No no no. We didn't we didn't we didn't we jumped the fence. No wait a minute. Teenage daughters 18 or like 16 boys. Um yes. Oh, he's not going to say. Okay. Okay. Carry on. We jumped We jumped the fence to go swimming in the pool like at 11:00 at night. And you know it said no admittance after dark, but we were in the water just we weren't doing anything. weren't even drinking, weren't doing anything. And all of a sudden, a pickup truck barreling up the the little ramp to the pool. And the owner jumps out with a shotgun and, you know, says, "If you've uh if you've broken into my swimming pool at night, what's to say? You're not going to break into my house." So, he uh he thought we were married and we were going back to our camper with them. But we went back to our tent. They went back to their family camper. We got up the next morning and we didn't even take the tent down. We just threw everything in the in the back of the van and we got out of there. That was in Houston. So, uh, the West Coast wasn't very favor friendly to us. Like Vegas, YouTube, but I love the stories, man. I love the stories. Like, honestly, talk to Netflix. You can get at least three seasons out of this three month trip. Yeah. Just when stuff goes wrong and the drama, that that's what makes the memories. I I loved every part of this phone call. Reuben, thank you so much for calling New Jersey 101.5. We don't have too much time left anyway, but um we will take your calls coming up after we take the break, but super fast. Uh a trip across country, me and a buddy. Uh we're out in a bar. This is the one where he was like missing all night. And I still don't know to this day where the hell he was, but um it's like 1:00 in the morning. I was doing all the driving cuz he can't drive a stick shift. So I'm doing the entire drive. So I'm tired. It's 1:00 a.m. And I'm like, "Come on, dude. Let's go back to the the motel." He wouldn't go. He wanted to close the joint. I'm like, "Dude, I can't. I got nothing left in the tank. And he was like, "I'll get home somehow." It was like a mile down the road. He's like, "I'll walk. I'll be fine." I was like, "Are you absolutely sure?" He's like, "Yes." I go to the motel. I wake up like 4 in the morning. He's not there. 7:00 in the morning, he's not there. It's finally time to check out. This is before cell phones. I have no idea what happened to this guy. We're in the middle of like I think it was like the panhandle of Texas. No idea what happened to him. And I don't want to start calling the cops, but I think I'm about to, you know. So, how'd you find him? Well, I have I finally had to check out of the motel, and I'm just sitting there on the road in my truck hoping that he shows up. And sure enough, he comes wandering down the road. Did he look disheveled? Completely disheveled. And I was like, what happened? It's like, you don't want to know. He never told me. Never told me where he was all night, but I think he got in a fight and stuff. That is startling. Oh, yeah. never would tell me. I can't believe you didn't get it out of him. I never did. And it was like the half the country's left and I never got it out of him. I have no idea what what the hell he did. Wow. I I don't think he knew. I think he blacked out. I think he got in a bar fight, blacked out, probably woke up in a ditch. That's what I think happened. Good gravy. Oh, yeah. All right. Anyway, coolest road trip you ever went on. 1800 283 101.5 Filter Radio and the guru of the Lincoln Tunnel to exit 15X in Heightstown. 33 is closed again today between 571 and Route 33 for the Netflix movie shoot. It's as Kylie's been saying, it's an at work payday, but on steroids today only. 10,000 bucks. So, you got to have that code. We're going to be doing another one roughly about half an hour from now. And then you have your final chances for the 10,000 in the 4:00 and then again in the 5:00. Enter every single time. It's different codes every time. The more you enter, it greatly increases your chances. And that's totally allowed to uh enter more than once every day. You can enter every single hour all day long. That would be the the best way. And as I always like to point out, you have until midnight to enter these codes. So if you're on the road now or, you know, at 3:20, 4:20 and you're like, "Oh, no, but I can't I have to drive safely." Yeah. Just remember that the code was XYZ. And then enter it later. Yeah. Yeah. Like like like you hear 3:00's code, even if 4:00's code has already been uh read, you can still enter 3:00's code. We want you to win money, right? We're trying to help. Please. All right. So, our phone number is 1 800 283101.5. We're talking about road trips. What's the coolest road trip you've been on? Richie in Hillsboro. You're on New Jersey 101.5. Hey guys, how are you doing? Um, first off, before I go on my road trip story, um, with the Bruce Springsteen thing, when I was 16, I got to actually play the Stone Pony. And that was one of the coolest things. Oh, nice. That I ever got to do. I was actually very sick. I was actually very sick that day. And my parents were trying to tell me, "Oh, you don't have to do it." And I was like, "Oh, hell no." Yeah. Yeah. I'm not giving up that opportunity. Right. They did not understand the history or maybe they didn't appreciate the history of Stone Pony. Yeah. But uh that's awesome. Do you still play out or No. Uh every now and then I I do more standup now. Um Oh, very cool. You know. Yeah. Uh but uh but yeah, so in 2016 um me my aunt moved out to uh Portland, Oregon and uh we she took a plane out with her son and uh me and my dad took um her car and a U-Haul with all her stuff and we went from central Jersey all the way out to Seattle. Wow. Cross country. That's sweet. What were your favorite spots? Uh like we stopped in Chicago for like three hours so he could nap. He wouldn't let anyone else drive. Oh. Oh boy. And we we got to the uh you know we got to see Crazy Horse uh near which is kind of near Mount Rushmore. We also saw saw Mount Rushmore, but Crazy Horse is a even bigger like mountain thing. Mhm. Uh out there and uh it like all those spots were crazy. I got to see the Space Needle too. Mhm. And then, you know, we made it down to Portland and uh where she moved uh you know, I got to shoot some guns with uh like AR-15s and stuff at a range. Uh and it was just an awesome trip. Like, but did anybody point a shotgun at you as you sneaked into a pool with an underage girl? No. We're not pitting stories against each other. All right. All right. No, but the fir when we did get to Seattle, the first thing we saw was a homeless guy and he was asking for money immediately as we got out of the car. Oh jeez. Welcome. Welcome to Seattle. What do you got on you? Yeah, really. Yeah. Hey Richard, we appreciate your story. We're going to have Rick's news in under five minutes on New Jersey 101.5. Don't go anywhere. George at Rocky's have the Jack Daniels in multiple bottles. It's the Dinsky and War Show. I'm Kylie Moore and I'm Jeff Daminsky. Uh phone number is 1800 283101.5. No, I'm often It's funny. People who work together are often in sync with that. But no, this does feel like a Thursday to me. Interesting. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. Maybe cuz I was working on Friday's game already this morning. So like maybe that kind of cemented Yeah, that'll do it. Yeah, cuz I cuz I was thinking we would do Name Five tomorrow. Cool. So I got that all ready to go. So maybe that's why it's not feeling the Although I'll tell you what, after several days of dreary weather with the clouds and the rain and everything, it was so sunny today. It's been so sunny that Right. like it feels weatherwise like a fun Friday. But no, I still feel like it's Thursday. It is nice weather. And I just want to get Yeah. Right. Another hour of giving props to Jenner Sillo. You know how at the end of the newscast the news anchors will tease the weather coming up? Yeah. She went full um Chandler Bing. What' she do? Could the skies be any bluer? Nice. I didn't catch that earlier. It got a chuckle. It got a chuckle out of the old K dog. Very nice. Very nice. That's cool. All right, so uh listen, we do have our end of the week game. Uh wait, what am I saying? That's tomorrow. Oh my god, you just put me in Friday mode. You dope. You dope. You dope. You just made it happen. You manifested it. Yes, I meant to say it is a $10,000 cash code at work payday today. That's what I was trying to say. Tomorrow is our end of the week game. But yeah, for today, uh that at work payday, it goes from 1,000 all the way to $10,000. You have another opportunity for that code coming up about 78ish minutes from now. Uh and another chance in the 4:00 and the 5:00 as well. So, don't go anywhere. All right. So, um I this this is not up yet. I think it'll be up tomorrow, but I wrote it already. Um there's yet another diner that closed down, and this has been happening more and more in New Jersey. Now, I'm not saying that they're on the brink of extinction, but I am wondering, are we kind of like at the beginning phase of them going away? Because the latest one, you might laugh, it's called the Towns Square Diner. We're owned by a company called Town Square. Yeah. It's the Town Square Diner and it's in Morris County. It had been around for nearly 40 years. This goes back to like the Reagan administration. That's how long they've been around. And um and they survived COVID. They got through that and uh they're finally shutting the whole thing down. And you know, who knows what's going to happen there, but it's not going to be a diner. And um and they put, you know, like a very touching note on the door. The owner said, you know, thank you to the past customers uh for, you know, making them a part of their daily routine and their celebrations, their traditions, their lives, all of that. And I was looking back because I had written about this before. Some of the things I wrote about before like um the Pen Queen uh diner in Pensan had gone away. The Marlton Diner uh went away, the Cherry Hill Diner closed uh back in 2023. Just this year alone, just this year, the Collingswood Diner shut down. The Americana Diner in West Orange closed. the roadside diner in wall shut down. And it's not just me saying it. This has been an increasing thing. I'm not saying that there aren't still hundreds, but it feels different now. And what I want to know at 1800283 101.5 is, and this sounds like this sounds sacriiggious to even say it in a state like New Jersey, but has the luster worn off on going to a diner? I shudder to even put this on the air. I know. I know. Are people not that into diners anymore? And what I read about because I've I've had a bit of a fascination with this. And what I have read is demographically older people are still going, but they're aging out. The customer base that go to diners, it's an aging base and it's not being replaced by younger people as much. Younger people are tending. I'm not saying no young people are going. There aren't still college kids who are getting drunk and going there at 2 a.m. Apparently, they're going to places like Applebee's because they're s because this is what I read. They're going more and more. They're they're shunning diners and they're going more and more to chain places. And diners aren't that. Diners are usually mom and pop, familyun, and they're not going as often. And there's hardly any 24-hour diners left. That's very rare to find a 24-hour diner. And um and even if even if they're not 24 hours, the business isn't going late into the night. Like late night dining among younger people is not even a thing. And for the younger people who are going to diners, what I what what I was reading today in doing research for writing this article, younger people are also and let's face it, we're so expensive here. And more and more younger people are forced to still live in the home that they grew up in and they don't want to be there, you know, but but that's the economic reality. And so when they do go out, they're often only like splitting an app and they're not spending a lot of money. And so what I'm getting at is even if they will go, like even for the younger people who will go to a diner, they're not spending as much as they would have. And so that's also hurting the diners. Like not only are they losing the younger customers, but they're also when they are getting them, they're not spending nearly as much. So it's not helping a lot. This can't be a dying art. I know. And and in what I wrote, it'll be up tomorrow, I believe, on nj1015.com. But it's like I'm kind of comparing it in my mind to drive-in movie theaters. I'm sure when they started to go, I'm sure everybody was saying like, "Okay, well that one went and that one closed down and this other one closed down, but it's such a fun uh novelty kind of thing and a cool way to see a movie." They're certainly not all going to close. And look what happened. All but one closed. There's only the Deli Drive-In left. And we were like the drive-in theater capital at one point. Wow. So yeah, I really I really do wonder is this model of restaurant a diner is it kind of going away? So what we want to know I mean not only that are you and it's probably hard to get an honest answer because like because of nostalgia, no one's going to want to admit that they're tired of going to a diner. You don't want to admit that. You don't want to say that out loud. You know that's like picking a favorite child. like nobody wants to do it. But I'm going to ask it anyway. Do you think people are getting tired of diners? And do you think that they're maybe going to go extinct eventually in New Jersey? And if there's an old one that you remember that you missed that went away, absolutely. You could call it in 1800 283 101.5 319. Here's fast traffic. Whatever your vision for holiday dec No, you were just getting too excited cuz you were remembering the time that we went to Larita. Oh, those pumpkin cannons, man. The pumpkin cannons. The the views. I mean, it's just it's a gorgeous facility. I cannot speak highly enough of it. They even they even Well, we went when uh there was like, you know, like one of those food truck festivals, which was fantastic. But they even have stuff for kids there. So, you could go to a you know, you could go to a a winery and not feel guilty about it cuz the kids are also having fun. There's like literally playgrounds there and more than one and Oh, it's it's very cool. It's huge. Like the time that I went with my friends Chrissy and Kyle, they could not get over like every maybe like 5 10 minutes they'd be like, "There's more." Yep. But wait, there's more going. Yeah. Oh, yeah. It's nice. It's huge. It's gorgeous. We love Lorita. It is very, very nice. All right. So, our phone number is 1800 283101.5. Uh I don't have the story up yet. I I worked on it today. It's going to be up tomorrow on the website, but it's about yet another New Jersey diner that's been around for almost 40 years. And it also is closing down. It's the Town Square Diner in Morris County in Wharton. And are you thinking that maybe this is the beginning of the end for diners? Do you think that it could actually be possible that diners just like drive-in movie theaters are going to end up disappearing like 20 years from now? And if you have an old diner that you want to give a shout out to, it's not around anymore, but it was one of your favorites, feel free to do that. 1800283101.5. Can I pitch something to you? Yeah. Dinosaurs. What? Diner. Dinosaurs. Your reaction was correct. Yeah. I was like, "What?" No, now I know what you're saying, right? Like, they're going extinct, right? They're going extinct. Dinosaurs. That's got to be in a headline somewhere. Yeah. Just I'm going to let that one sink in with you. Get Get back to me after news, Traffic, and Weather. Let me know what you think. Dinosaurs. Suzanne and Pine Peach, you're on New Jersey 101.5. That's actually fantastic. That was a great joke. There you go. Um, so I I honestly All right. So I'm 54, right? So I'm kind of like in the middle of, you know, people that are definitely going to diners and like this younger group, like you're saying, maybe not going to diners anymore. Right. Right. Right. Right. I'm right there with you. I honestly Yeah. I honestly feel like any diners that are going out of business, I I believe it's because the quality of their food has become worse because there are plenty of Oh, absolutely. Literally. Like there are plenty of diners out there that are still thriving and giving good food. Like there's one in Tom's River, I'm not going to mention a name, that closed probably about four or five months ago. I can tell you from the times that I've been there, from even when I was a child, cuz mind you, this is, you know, like 18 years old, it's been there that long, the food used to be great. Within the past four or five years, the food has steadily declined. And like the last couple times we had gone, it was like gross, you know, like like saturated with oil or whatever. I wonder why that would be. So I I don't know, but honestly, there are still plenty of diners that I feel like are still giving good food and that's why they're still open. I don't Well, I mean, hey, it's a theory. it it's a theory, but uh I I just feel I mean from everything I've read, I just feel like it's shifts in demographic desires and I think the pandemic and all those closures absolutely hurt them as well. Um they got to be playing within even tighter profit margins because their food is not high price. Otherwise, it wouldn't really be considered a diner. People would reject that, you know, if it were does not make a diner a diner, right? Yeah. Yeah. You don't expect like, you know, a $48 entree at a diner, you know. Suzanne, thank you for calling New Jersey 101.5. Johnny in North Jersey. You're on New Jersey 101.5. How you doing, guys? Hey, Kylie. I'll never let you forget about looking for the crabs under the boardwalk. [Laughter] I'm just going to [Laughter] under the boardwalk. Kylie's looking for crabs. Under the boardwalk. All right. All right, Johnny. What did you want to say about this? Uh, that town square is on Route 15 in Wharton. It survived the pandemic. What put it out of business was the sink hose on Route 80. Yes, it's very near there. You are right. It is very near there. Right. Every day there would be bumper to bumper traffic in front of the place, but when people in traffic like that, they don't want to get out. No. And you're right. And it's been there 38 years. I know. I know. In fact, it's so close to the it well to where the sinkholes were. It was so close to that. Uh one of the times when Governor Murphy went out there to, you know, have his photo up, uh he actually stopped into that diner. Uh so yeah, I mean, you're I'm ju I'm just saying you're 100% right. That's how close to that and that could not have helped either. I think you're totally right. Johnny, we are up against news. Thank you for calling New Jersey 101.5 and the rosy memories. All right. So, uh, when it comes to a New Jersey diner, I mean, it would be sad. I would think most people would feel like it would be sad if they ended up going away the way, uh, the drive-in movie theaters went away. All but one is left of those. Do you think that could happen to the New Jersey diner model of restaurants? And what's an old one that went away that you still miss? 1800283 101.5. Old prices are at an all-time high. New Jersey 101.5 at Jeff and Kylie. Yes, it's a $10,000 at work payday today. Uh we got two more codes coming up. One at about 420, one at about 520. Don't go anywhere. So, in the meantime, uh this is about an article that I'm working on. It's going to be up on the website tomorrow, but it's about yet another New Jersey diner. This one's in Morris County that has uh bit in the dust. And we uh we want to know, do you think that people are getting tired of diners? Is it only older people that are going to diners? Do you think they're going to disappear? And what is an what is a diner that's no longer around? That was one of your fave uh favorites. 1800283101.5. Teddy and Colonia, you're on New Jersey 101.5. Hey guys, good afternoon. Hi Teddy. Um, one is Jeff's favorite, the Galaxy in Rawway. And the other diner was one in Jersey City, where I grew up, called Al's Diner. That was like the old style stainless steel diner that you see every now and then. And I'm sorry, Al's where? In Jersey City on Avenue. Jersey. Okay, Jersey City. Okay, hold on. I want to make sure that Als was a real diner. Did they have red leather booths? No, they had they were like beige color uh booths with the the little juke box that was on each table that still works. Beige works. Beige works. Uh was there uh at at least one of the booths was there a little piece of duct tape holding together like a crack in the vinyl booth? Cuz that's important to make it a real diner. Probably. That's a long time ago. I'm going back 40 years ago maybe. Oh wow. Wow. Did the waitresses Did the waitresses call you either hun or sweetheart? Hun? Yes. That's the staple. Hun. I remember the I remember the one. She was Her name was Angie. That I remember. Don't ask me why, but her name was Angie. She looked like she looked like one of the like Hazel from uh you know from I Oh my god. This is actually before my time. But I know what you're talking about. I know the show. I saw it in reruns or something. I know what you're talking about. Right. It's had the same hairstyle theme. Very very Yeah. Heavy heavy makeup, heavy eyeliner, heavy uh the blue eyes shadow. It's not a compliment. Yeah. Hold on. It's not a compliment. You started laughing before Teddy said what the show was. Hazel from Hazel. I think the show was called Hazel, right? Yeah, it was. She was a maid for I forget the the the family she was a a maid for. Yeah, but that was the name of the show. That's dating me. That's dating me. So, yeah, I wanted I wanted to Google it, Teddy, to see what you were talking about. And yes, this is exactly a diner waitress. Well, you would rather date yourself than than date Hazel. So, I think I think you're doing okay. Yeah. And you know what? I don't know. Maybe maybe now. I don't know. I'm older now, so she was calling him hun. Hey, I hear you, man. Uh, but Teddy, yeah, the Galaxy Diner, I don't know if you know the backstory of how I found out about that, but I didn't realize they had closed and it was a caller live on air that broke that news to me. And I and I went nuts. Oh, Teddy, I went nuts. I couldn't believe it. And I'm like hitting Google hoping it was not true, that it was a rumor. And sure enough, it was true. It's a dispensary now. I know. I heard that it was becoming a weed a weed shop. Yes. Big one. Big one. Huge. Yeah, cuz they did catering and everything there. They had like separate rooms and Right. That was a large place. They should have kept half of it as a diner. You imagine how much food they would sell with everybody getting a pot and then going right next door and getting something to eat. Getting some French fries. Oh my god. Right. Fancy Frenchy gravy with the fre uh brown gravy on the fries. I was Teddy. You you beat me to it. I was just about to say disco fries. Yep. Okay. I'm gonna throw something at you that you're not going to remember. I mean, if you remembered Galaxy, maybe, but I This is a challenge. It's either for you, Teddy, or for anybody listening, cuz this closed down long, long ago. Do you or anybody remember a place called Super Diner in downtown Rawway? No. Yeah. No, we moved down we moved down here in 33 years ago. So I all I knew was the Galaxy. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All I That was a There Listen, a lot of them are closing. The Menllo Park Diner closed, which is right next to the overpass by Yep. Do you think eventually there that that whole restaurant business model of a diner is going to be a thing of the past? You know what it is? I I find out a lot that the kids of the family members that have diners now, they don't want to do It's a lot of work. It's a lot of work and right it used to be Yeah. It used to be more like workingass families, but you know the American dream, they started sending their kids to college and then once they got degrees, they realized I don't have to work 80 hours a week in a diner and so they're they're getting easier jobs and yeah, you're completely right. That is definitely part of it. Teddy, thank you for calling New Jersey 101.5. Diners can't go away because we run on the Euing Diner. No, I hear you. I don't want them to go away, but but I I worry that they might. And that's one of the things we're talking about here. Another thing is, is there an old diner that went away that you remember like Teddy was talking about that you want to give a shout out to, even if it was like years and years ago, and I'm going to try it again. Does anybody remember, and you would have to be beyond a certain age, cuz this has been a lot. The reason I'm asking about this diner, my grandmother worked at this diner. That's why I'm asking about it. It was called the Super Diner and it was right next it was right across from the train station in Rawway. It was downtown Rawway across from the train station decades ago called the Super Diner. Was there anything significant about it beyond that you had family members that worked there? Oh, that wasn't enough? Uh, I'm I'm kidding. Um, not really. It just was like that classic stainless steel. It literally looked like a train car. literally looked like a train car diner long counter. Um, a woman named Adriana ran it and uh yeah, I can't think of anything else more significant. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. But I'm just wondering I'm just Yeah. I'm just curious if anybody remembers it. I can see the twinkle in your eye. I just wanted to know what it was. It would make me I don't know. It would make me feel good. 1 800283101.5. It's a paid political announcement. Okay. Before we get back to diners, real real quick. I know we're giving away tickets to Glow tomorrow for our end of the week game. Mhm. I just found them on Instagram. Mhm. Jeff, this looks so cool. It is a drivethru light display for Halloween and it is worth the drive. And you know they sold me when they have a light up ghost face from Scream. Oh, look at that. That is very cool. I'm seeing Chucky in here. I think I saw Michael Myers. It looks so cool. Oh yeah. You get your kids in the car, you do some hot cocoa while you drive through this thing. They have uh so it doesn't get too crowded. They have like various start times that you pick. And we're giving away the VIP package where you don't have to wait in line. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. I think I'm getting sick. I might be out tomorrow. And if someone calls in during the 6:00 hour who sounds like me, ignore that. Right. Right. It's just the evil doppelganger. No, it is a cool price. Yeah. It's like an $85 prize. Damn. Yeah. Sorry, that was a real reaction. No, it's a nice prize. So, uh, yeah, we'll tell you more about it tomorrow. And right now, we're talking about diners that seem like I don't want to say it's the beginning of the end, but I'm a little worried about it. Another one is closed down in Morris County. And do you worry about that them going away like Drive-In movie theaters did? And what is a what is a diner that you know has left us that you still remember and miss? 1800 283101.5. Jay on the Parkway. You're on New Jersey 101.5. Hey, how are you? Good. How's it going? Pretty good. Pretty good. Uh, how about the Raritan Diner in South Amboy? Uh, again, it went away in the, I believe, the early 80s. Shouldn't the Raritan Diner have been in Raritan? Maybe. Maybe. Good question. But yeah, I don't know why. Maybe it was named after the river. Who knows? But um yeah. Was that your was that your go-to? Was that your favorite? Kind of was my favorite. Yeah. My my father used to take me there as a kid. Um you know, as a baby, we lived in I lived in Morgan, so it was right up the street. And uh yeah, went away. I think Woody Allen actually filmed u the Purple Rose of Cairo. Oh, no kidding. And it's actually currently still sitting in a field in upstate New York rotting away. Wow. Interesting. Interesting. Yeah, because they right they they hauled the whole thing away. Absolutely. Yeah, absolutely. Yep. Yep. Yep. Jay, that's a good one. Thank you for calling New Jersey 101.5. Stay with us. We're going to have Danny Dresenzo's news in just under five minutes. This is Jeff Deinsky and New Jersey time. It is 4:11 on this Friday eve. Oh yeah, it is so close to Friday. One could almost call it Thursday. That right. Well, I mean, yeah. I mean, technically, sure. Sure, it's Thursday, but I mean, you know, like we're on that cusp of Friday. So, we could say that this is the eve before like just the night before Christmas. The night before Friday. It's Friday Eve. There you go. That's going to be I'm about to go full Muppet Christmas Carol on you. I know. After all, there's only one more sleep till Friday. There it goes. All right. So, yes, it is uh it is a $10,000 at work payday in case you have been under a rock and not paying attention. Now, normally we're giving $1,000 away uh every day, but uh today goes to $10,000. Same way you win it though, you have to listen for that three-digit code. We have one more coming up in about 10 minutes, give or take, and then another one, a final one in the 5:00 hour around the same time. So, just uh make sure that you keep listening. Our phone number is 1-800 283101.5. Next hour we will be um talking about a mental affliction that Kylie has, but I uh have to confess that I I share this mental health issue as well. Um the list could go on and on. Right. Well, it's just it's just the one mental health issue that we're going to be talking about, the one that has to do with music, but we will get there. And um also I saw the cheesiest thing. We'll talk about this later, too. They really tried to make this look like a bonafide news article. It was on USA Today, but you could totally tell it was like paid for by Walgreens. Yeah. It's like one of those things where it's really a sponsored story, but like they don't they didn't really do a great job of making it painfully obvious, but it was like, yeah, they paid for this, you know? So, it was really just like a long ad. And they're trying to get people to get flu shots is what it was, of course. So, uh, so and and I'm not against flu shots. It's just I I I just find that tactic funny, but we'll talk about that later, too, because they're saying that this is already the time. And I'm always like, feels early. I know they say it'll last 6 months, but will it? I feel like if I get it now, am I going to be screwed if I if I am exposed in February? But they claim that it lasts. Uh, I'm not a doctor. Don't look at me. I know. Yeah. I don't know. I just feel like I don't know if I want to get it this early, but we'll talk about flu shots later as well. I know there's a big divide on that. Okay. Um I saw this is two days in a row. This is two days in a row that I ended up reading a Dear Abby column. Yesterday was because of the because of the guy dating the other sister after breaking up with one sister. Right. I believe that was also this hour, was it not? Oh, was it really? Oh my god, this is gonna be like known as the Dear Abbeby hour now. I could be wrong. I think you might be right. So anyway, here's the headline that caught my eye. Dear Abby, how do I go about saying something to my amazing fiance about her facial hair? Oh, I was like, well, how do I not read that? I mean, come on. Mhm. Like, how ugly is this letter going to get, right? So, I am buckled up. So, it's short and sweet. It's somebody uh in Florida. Florida man writes, "Dear Abby, I have an amazing fiance who is smart, beautiful, and honest. I couldn't ask for more. We are getting married next year, and we're excited about the future we'll have together." But then he writes, "However, I am struggling with something in regard to my fiance. She has noticeable facial hair. I don't know how to talk to her about it. I know saying something would hurt her feelings, which is something I want to avoid. What's the best way to go about saying something without sounding like a jerk? And and my first thought my first thought was, "Dude, if she has facial hair, she knows she has facial hair." But no, according to Dear Abby, she wrote back, or whoever is playing the role of Dear Abby these days, she wrote back, "Many women have facial hair to some degree. By that I mean a mustache, unibrow, sideburns, or even chin hair. Many of them don't realize that people notice because they don't notice." You can't imagine how self-conscious I am right now. Why? Do I? What? Have What are you talking about? You just said you're self-conscious. I didn't say anything that you had anything. But you No, you're saying that people don't realize that they have it. Oh. Oh. Oh, you're worried. I don't know what you meant. I was going to say I haven't said a word to you about anything. Um, I don't know. I don't think so. I'm moving the mic. Look at me. Oh my god. You're going to make this about you? Hold on. I think you're fine. I don't think you have anything. Okay. You You're making me worry. I This was not about you. It's about women. And then whoever is pretending to be dear Abby says, "Because you are engaged to be married, raise the subject privately and very gently." Well, yeah. You don't do it in front of family, obviously. Uh and then she says, "Do not say, guess what else we have in common? We both have mustaches." There are solutions for this. Among them are waxing and electrolysis. I hesitate to mention shaving, which by the way, some gorgeous women do because once she starts, it must be done every day. However, I was told by a friend who shaves that it helps with exfoliation and makeup application. And then that's where it ends. That's where it ends. So, she is saying, "Yeah, tell the fiance that this dude needs to tell the woman he's gonna marry that she's got facial hair because she might not know it." I don't know if that's true. I would think if you've got fa I mean, like, women are always looking in the mirror because women take better care of themselves than men do usually just applying makeup and things. You're spending more time in front of a mirror just naturally. Wouldn't a woman know she's got facial hair? What do you think? You'd think. You would think, right? Although you were doubting yourself and I don't think you have any. Thank you. But here's the thing. I feel bad for women. And this is not just about women, by the way. What I want to ask is what hair on a partner is going to bother you versus not bother you. Like, I feel bad for women that they feel so uncomfortable if they didn't shave their legs for a few days. Like to me, and maybe this is just me, maybe I'm a weird guy. I don't care. I don't care if there's some hair on a woman's legs. I think you're in the minority, but I'm not sure. I don't care. It's okay. It's like, do women think that us guys think that those magazines are real? Of course they're not, you know? And like, okay, if you got some hair every now and then, I don't care if you got what we're told. I well well you're not told that by me because I and you know what else and this really grosses people out. I have said this to women not only guys but women even get grossed out. I don't really care if a woman's got some underarm hair. I don't care. Oh that bothers me just because it it gets uh uncomfortable and that's fine. Like, but like as long as it's because of you, but like don't worry about it because of me, you know, if memory serves, I don't I don't care if there's some hair on the legs. I don't care if there's some uh hair on the underarms. I don't care. It really doesn't bother me. Was not positive that arms was going to come after under. No, it really doesn't bother me. But I know for a lot of guys, apparently it does. And also, I want to make this for women, too. Like you ladies, um, if if you're straight, do you do you mind like say uh a hairy back on a guy? Some women like a guy totally shaved down and not like any hair on the chest even. Maybe that bothers you. Oh, I was going straight for the face, but we'll get into and it could be the face, too. And maybe you don't like the stubble on a guy's face. whatever it is. But we want to know uh either gender or straight, gay, I don't care. Uh that's why I'm saying partner. What hair on a partner bothers you? 1800 283 101.5. Here's Fast Traffic. Zombies sh New Jersey 101.5. Uh inspired by some wacky advice column that I read online. Um, it was about some dude who's marrying this woman and he says that she's beautiful but that she's got facial hair and he doesn't know how to tell her and it's like I would think she knows but anyway anyway but the point is I want to know is there certain and this is for men or women it doesn't matter. Is there certain hair that is a turnoff or maybe a turn on? I don't know. Maybe there's the occasional guy who actually gets turned on by a woman's underarm hair. You never know. But is there certain hair that is a big turn off that's a big problem for you? Like if you're dating a woman, if you're a guy and you're straight and you're dating a woman and uh she doesn't shave her legs for like 2 or 3 weeks and she's getting hairy, is it going to be like a major turn off? Are you going to feel really weird about that or like, you know, is it not that big of a deal? Like if a woman to me, if a woman say like, you know, comes down like she's sick, she's got the flu and like nobody wants to bother with that nonsense. shaving your legs. No, it's a whole to-do. To me, it's like a big who cares. It's like we're all kind of just, you know, smart apes. I mean, seriously, like like it wouldn't bother me. And it always kind of blows my mind how many guys get like a big turnoff by that or even like a little underarm stubble. Not even like a big underarm bush, but just even stubble and guys will be freaking out about that. Is that a huge turnoff? And ladies as well for straight women say a guy has a hairy back. Is that going to be like oh hell no for you? See it's funny that you keep going to back. For me it's far and away facial hair. Facial hair. So you don't like the facial hair? No. It hurts. It's stubbly. Uh it's just spiking you when you go to kiss them. Mhm. I not for me. But see, but some women probably love the facial hair on a guy. I mean like Okay. one of your favorite artists, Taylor Swift. Think about Think about what that's feeling like every time she goes in for a kiss with Travis. It It sounds spiky, right? Yeah. No, I mean I get it. He's not just spiking that football. Am I right? No, I mean I get it. I get it. But we want to know men or women, straight, gay, I don't care what you're into. I just want to know on your partner, what hair bothers you versus does not bother you? 1 800283101.5. When it comes to the leg hair, I feel like I've had a mixed bag of exes because the one the ex that I was with, you know, my college dare where I had to go six months without shaving my legs. Yeah. And you got like beer for it or something? I got a six-ack of a Bud Light. That seems so not worth it. But okay. So 6 months you went without shaving your legs. He He did not give a hoot. I literally See, that that would have been me. Yeah. Good for him. It was if I was walking around the dorm in shorts, I could feel it blowing in the breeze. Yeah. Okay. And he did not give a care. Okay. Dr. Zas. Yeah. You're like an orangutan coming down the hall. Honestly, I'm not even insulted because that's just true. But yeah, but see, but I like I would have been, you know, uh I would have been like-minded with that guy. Like it's like, okay, she's doing it on a dare. Who cares? And so if anything, maybe it's like a little bit of a change up, you know? Sure. Yeah, why not? Like what was it grossing you out to look at yourself? No, it wasn't. So you didn't care. I'm not looking down there. I'm sure you occasionally saw your own leg. It's like 3 and 1/2 ft away from my eyes. I'm tall. Yeah, your vision is pretty bad. All right. So, we want to know um th this is coming from something I saw on nj.com. Uh hair on a partner, and it could be facial hair, too. Back hair, ladies, leg hair, underarm hair, whatever. Uh what hair on a partner is a turnoff for you? 1 800283101. Nearly 35 million. 437 with Jeff Daminsky and Kylie Moore. Getting a little hairy here. What hair on a partner bothers you? 1800283101.5. I feel like probably women are a lot more forgiving about a hairy back, a hairy chest than guys are forgiving about a woman having some leg hair or some uh underarm hair, armpit hair. But you guys tell us, you ladies tell us 1800 283 101.5. What a hot take. There are un uh you know non-equivocal body standards towards women, huh? Who knew? Ray in Yardley, you're on New Jersey 101.5. Yeah. How you doing, guys? We're good. Uh, I'll tell you, I I do have a problem with women that have hair on their legs or under their arms. It just makes them look unkempt, you know. Uh, to me, a woman is a thing of beauty, you know, and having underarm hair like European woman, it's just a turnoff. Have you ever said that to a woman to a partner? No, but I I just saw a a thing on Instagram where it was a prank, but the girl lifted up her arms and her husband sold it and he said, "I got to get you a t-shirt. You can't go out like that." And I agreed. It just looked horrible. But one thing that I do appreciate, and I'll try to put this as delicately as possible, is I would like to see that a woman maintain a little bit of hair around her pelvic area. And you know why? I don't care. A little triangle. All right. Yeah. Yeah. We get it. We get it. We get it. We're good. We get it. Thank you. All right. Ray, thank you for calling New Jersey 101.5. Not really the region I was trying to get into here. All right. Our phone number is 1 800 283101.5. But yeah, let's say a woman uh is like sick in bed for a week with the flu. Flu season's coming. If your wife, if your significant other, your girlfriend, if she's laying there and she's got some leg hair growth for say like 8 days, is that going to really bother you? Why would that be a big thing? I don't get guys that are bothered by that. Or even like the armpit hair thing. Like we're walking around like a freaking gorilla and that's fine. Although there are some women, and you ladies, I want you to jump in on this as well. There are women who they would like a guy who is like a swimmer where all their hair is completely. Yes, there are women who who would like that. And you know, at least even if it's not fair, at least we know that most guys they would like, you know, that clean shaven armpit, clean thighs, clean calves, the the shave look. With women, you never know. Some women would like a totally hairless chest. Other women like chest hair. I don't know about too many women that actually would enjoy back hair. But there are some women that would like chest hair. So, you never really know with a woman. You kind of almost have to ask the woman. But it's pretty rare that a guy is uh going to be like, "Yeah, I want the hairy armpits." I'm still working through clean thighs, shaving above the knee. Who has the time? Well, wait. Don't women do that? They do, but that's like a right of passage. What do you mean a right of passage? It's like, oh, at what age did you start shaving above the knee? Oh, well, don't you or no? No, you don't shave above the knee. God, no. So, wait, so you've got like So, you have like hair on your thighs like all the time. Well, currently, hold on. I'm pulling up the leggings. I mean, I don't know. Obviously, how would I know? Well, it's thinner up there. Oh, is it? Because it Well, maybe for me it's because it's shaped less. I I'm desperate to get Marissa's opinion on this, but she's on the phone. Yeah. No, it's all good. It's all good. We can talk to James. Okay, sure. Let's talk to James in Morristown. You're on New Jersey 101.5. Hey guys, how you doing? Hey, what's up? So, yeah. Listen, I understand like maybe in the winter months a woman might not want like to shave her legs. That doesn't really bother me that much. There you go. Good for you. Good for you. Yeah. A couple little stray hairs like under the yard that that's not going to be like bother me. But like if it's like a woman and like guy hair under there like in the armpits. Yeah. But my and I've dated European women. So hey, you go with the flow when in Rome and it's like that wasn't a deal breakaker. But the thing is for me would be more like um like a lip waxing thing when it's sort of like they have I'm not talking like a little peach fuzz that a woman could get on her upper lip where it's just like hair growing in right like you don't mean where you really have to look in the right light to even see it. But you mean like you can you can see it from 12 feet away that there's some dark hair there. Maybe not maybe not that far, but like up closer like it's hair. It's not that peach fuzz, right? That all women get it, right? Some more than others, but it's like No, there's like hair. It's like uh you like the 15year-old boy starting to get like a little bit of like a mustache and then like he leaves it cuz he wants to be like like you know, hey, I'm I'm starting to grow a mustache and it's like, you know, there's waxing and things like that, right? That's going to turn you off. Yeah. My women tend to be very uh like like very cosmo. They were, you know, like they they have a full array of services with like the the waxing and all the the nails and all that hygienic stuff. But it holds the show. Now, now I'm not saying I disagree with you about the upper lip hair. I'm not saying I disagree with you. I'm just asking. Who is the hottest famous woman that you can think of? Who would like turn you on the most that we would all know what they look like? Oh, what pressure? I really like Elena Bottom Carter and I think she's known for maybe like letting a couple places go and my girlfriend actually like is like looks just like her and dresses exactly like her. Okay. So if it were her so if that actress had a little facial had a little upper lip hair uh that would still be a turnoff. Elena bottom court. No, I could definitely overlook that for her. All right, that I feel like that would also like work with her. She's quirky enough. I also never expected that response, James. That was a good pull. Thank you for calling New Jersey 101.5. All right, so we're uh we're talking about hair. Yes, hair. Long, beautiful hair. Uh back hair on a guy, facial hair. Maybe that turns some women off. Uh maybe you want the guy to have chest hair or no chest hair. And men, is it going to bother you if a woman has some underarm hair or doesn't shave her legs for, I don't know, maybe 6 months to get a six-ack of beer? 1 800283101.5. Who would do that? Hey, this is Jeff Deinsky, New Jersey 101.5. We're talking about uh hair. It could be body hair. It could be facial hair. Uh if you're uh gonna be uh somebody's lover, if you're gonna be a partner, does any of that bother you? like which body hair or facial hair will or will not bother you on a partner. 1 800283 101.5 Raul in Morristown on New Jersey 101.5. Hey guys, how are you? Hey, what's going on? So, uh trying to keep it as clean as possible from the belly button straight down. Awesome. Uh we used to call it the yellow brick road when when I was a teenager and growing up. Okay. So, and you're talking about on a girl, right? You're a straight guy. Oh, absolutely. Yes. Yes. Okay. Um, hey, these days you, you know, you never know. You can't assume anything. We're not assuming, right? Yeah. Everybody's out. It's okay. I mean, everybody's out with everything, you know. Woke. So, but yeah, we used to say that if that if you started at the belly button and you follow the yellow brick road, you would eventually get to the uh to the Emerald City. So, yeah. No. No. Like I know on a guy that hair uh it's called a Have you ever heard on a guy that they'll call it a snail trail? Oh no. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm with Raul. I don't like that one either. I've heard I've heard happy trail. Okay. Happy trail. Trail. There you go. But like I know on a guy it's probably more common. Um but but you've seen that a lot on a girl where she'll where she'll have just like that little thin strand of hair. Yes. Yes. Very very rarely. And it was the biggest turn on ever. Really? How would you feel about underarm hair on a woman? No. No. I'm I'm going to tell you old school everything. And by the way, forgive me, but the whole thing above the uh you know, above the knee, covering it up with the uh with the skirt, I'm going to use the terms that my aunts used to say. You know, that's laziness. You got to you got to say that's laziness. They used to tell my my female cousins. Okay, but hold on. But hold on. Do you have any back hair? Yeah, I wish I could. I swear I wish I could just get the get it off. Well Well, you can get it off. So that's laziness. If you've got back hair, then how is that not laziness? Because I can't bend my arm back there to shave it off. Well, you could you could go and get that waxed off. I I'm I'm working on it. I know you're not. I will also say, okay, we're talking we're talking about my pre my preference moving forward, not what's on me. You guys ask me what my preference is. No, no, no. That's fine. But I'm just saying like, isn't it a quid proquo? If you say a woman is lazy, then a woman could say you're lazy for not taking care of the back hair. That's all. I'm not trying to beat up on you. I will also say your aunts aren't wrong about being lazy. I love my aunts. They were always very They were ridiculous. Oh, by the way, one more thing that a friend of mine used to go bananas over on a woman. The hair between the eyebrows like the artist, I think her name was Freda. for you, Kelly. A slight. Yeah. I had a friend who would go bananas over that. Now, wait. Now, do you mean in a Wait, so you're talking about the unibrow? Yes. Yes. Now, when you say bananas, do you mean that it would turn them off or that it would turn them on? It would turn him on. No, no, no, no, no. It would turn him on. He absolutely loved it. He said he said it was it was this might be a he said it was a it was like a sign of you know of of a of like this you know old school old country type thing uh really you know he might be a first but you know what we're not here to yuck his yum yeah hey if that if that's what that friend is into that's what he's into go for him and go for her right well thank you for calling New Jersey 101.5 we're going to have Danny Dres sends us news in under four minutes. Don't go anywhere. Jeff Deinsky and I want to speak on New Jersey chime time is 510 on this Thursday evening, but not just any other Thursday evening. That's right. It's a Friday Eve. Well, I was going to say something better than that. Oh, okay. What's better than that? On the opposite end of that evil part of the spectrum, it's a $10,000 at work payday. There's that. Oh, yeah. Big money. Big money. that code coming up in 10 minutes and I am very scared to hear what Jeff is going to make me say. We have we've been making each other on the $10,000 days. We've been challenging each other to do it in the in character of some other person. So, we have one more of those to have fun with. I will say I was not expecting frantic 1940s actress, but I was very happy to do Frantic 194. Oh, you nailed it, too. Yeah. I mean, for not knowing that that was coming. No, that was uh that was excellent. Um, so yeah, this is going to be your last chance uh for today. Now, tomorrow, of course, it will be a $1,000 at work payday. It all uh starts back up again in uh the morning show in the 8:00 hour with a Bill Spadia. Um, so how do we explain this one? Um, we both suffer I guess this is a strong word. Yeah, we both have sort of this weird mental uh glitch tick tick illness perhaps where we will hear certain things, a word, a phrase, something that will trigger an ongoing inner soundtrack in our minds. We like you'll never hear it out loud. It's not like we will start singing it. Sometimes we might, but usually it's not like you're going to be singing it out loud. Nobody else is hearing the song going on in your head, but somebody will say a word or something like that. You'll hear a thing and it will have a musical trigger and we would like to know how many other people have this at 1800283101.5. The best example that I can give, and I've given this example before when this has come up, because there's many, many ways you could go with this. If somebody just says the word stop in the name of love, I think that was Julia's cuz I was talking to them about it too. Really? Okay. Mine if you say stop in my head, I go collaborate and listen. I start doing the stupid. Okay, I I'll be honest. Ice Ice Baby. I'll be honest. I went with the one that I thought would be more recognizable to you. The one that would abs that would actually be mine is from the show Hairspray. Oh. Oh. Uh, lay it on us. Well, give me the trigger word. Hey, hey, hey, stop. Don't know, please. From Mama, I'm a big girl now. See? Keep going. Keep going. What's the next line? Um, it's stop again. Stop. And then what? Stop. Don't know. Please, mama. I'm a big girl now. I feel like I know this actually because I've definitely sung this at you. Yeah, maybe. Yeah, maybe because I said stop in front of you. Um, yeah, I'm not sure I would have known it was from Hairspray, but yeah, I think I've definitely heard this before. All right. So, I mean, like that's like the general idea, but it could be any word. It could be a phrase. It could be something. Maybe it could even be something else. I don't know. Um, but the way that this uh came about was something you said yesterday. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. What was yours? Right. And all I know about this is Kylie had something that triggered some soundtrack in her head and she wanted to talk about this. So before you even say it, let me just give the number again. When you hear something like a phrase, a word, whatever, does it ever trigger a song in your mind? 1800283101.5. All right. So what was it that I said and what happened? Okay. It took everything in me to not say this yesterday on the air. Mhm. But uh how familiar are you with the Disney movie Mulan? Zero. Okay. Then at goodness I did not say anything. Yeah. Nothing. I got nothing. Because you said, "Let's get down to business." And immediately like my millennial heart was just like, "I have to sing I'll Make a Man Out of You." Because the opening line is, "Let's get down to business to defeat the Huns." H Jeff, I swear to you, I would have had no idea what was happening had you done that out loud. I think had the bosses not been in yesterday, I would have been like a little more unhinged, but like everyone and their mother was in the building yesterday, so I was like, "Behave, behave. Don't hold." Well, but you best believe I listened to it on the way home. Did you? Yes. Well, yeah. I mean, with any of these things, it's like not everybody is going to necessarily know the song, but you know, some will, some won't. So, no, that's all good. But I I probably would have been like, "Huh? What? What?" Yeah. Yeah. Cuz my Cuz my kids uh I don't know when Mulan was out. I don't know if it uh 97 or 9 or 98. Um so they were non-existent. Oh, that's why. Oh, it's that old. Yeah. Oh, that's why. Yeah, cuz I didn't have kids until later than that. So, right. So, I was an adult, so it wasn't in my wheelhouse and I didn't have kids yet. Oh, yeah. I was just like going out to bars and I would not have known a kids movie that that year. You cannot understand how hard it was to be like to to swallow that to be like, "Don't do it. Don't do it. You're free to do it. It's okay." No. Many many would have gotten it to start talking about the huns as well. Why not? As you're trying to plug that the cash code is coming up. Yeah, whatever. No, that look had to have another meeting. And this is for everybody, okay? Everybody needs to calm down cuz guess what? I don't care who you are. What? There's one. You need to calm down, Taylor Swift. Could you just stop? You need to calm down. Oh, no. That song I love. Uh, but I was going to say, look, everybody needs to hear the same message, okay? We all get worried about everything. We're all at each other's throats. Red states, blue states, this, whatever. Should I have sang the Mulan thing? A 100 years from now, think about how much this is going to matter. Stop worrying about everything, people. We're all in the same boat 100 years from now. All right. This got existential real fast. Exactly. Existentially speaking, who cares about anything? Think about 100 years from now. Whatever. All right. So, we want to know musical triggers. Have you ever had one? 1-800 283101.5. Steven Freehold. You're on New Jersey 101.5. Yes. When I hear stop, first thing to mind is hammer time. Oh, wait a second. How did that Wait, does hammer time follow the word stop in that song? Yes, it's time. Hammer time. Oh, does it? Can't touch this. Yeah, like I could hear the hammer time, but I could I I couldn't hear the stop word right in front of it. Like I couldn't remember if that was really the word. He's 100% right. Yeah. Do right. And you never sing it out loud, right? You'll be like in public or something. You don't want to look like a weirdo, but So you have this too. Sometimes a a thing will trigger a song. Anytime I hear stop, I go hammer time. Yeah. We do not we do not have it in the system. I was going to play it. Oh, wait, wait, wait. Uh, no we don't. We have Okay, it we're going to get a little inside here, Steve. Yeah. What tricked you into thinking we might have had it. One of those things where we have a file and then it's like, but it's 0 seconds, so file. I got you. Right. Right. It was titled, but it was We have the concepts. We have a concept of a plan. We have the concept of MC Hammer. There you go. Hey, Steve, we appreciate you're calling in. Thanks. Thank you so much. Right. All right. So, there's one. There are three of us. Are there any more of us who suffer musical trigger syndrome? Please. Do you Yeah. Really? If you leave us hanging on this, we're gonna be really self-conscious. There's got to be other people that have this. You hear um and see like I can't even really give examples. It's like you only have it when you have it. You know what I mean? It's not readily available as a as a as a call back in your memory, but you know what I'm talking about. when when when when you hear something. It could even be seeing something like if you just see you ever driving down the street and you see a bunch of political signs. Mhm. And you think sign everywhere sign that old hippie song. Uh never once. But you just triggered one for me. Oh, what did I just trigger for you? You were saying that you know you got to know one of them, right? So are you saying that you ought to know? Oh wow. Wow. It doesn't take much for me to start singing. Wow. Okay. Okay. Yeah. All right. So, um, we'll take your call, I hope. Who else suffers from musical trigger syndrome? 1800 283101.5. It's 519. Here's Fast Traffic. What is it, Aussie? Somebody painted 525 with Jeff and Kylie. We can't be the only people who do this. Do you have a certain word or phrase that just triggers a song in your mind? I just remember, oh my gosh, Jeff, do you remember the like few days to maybe a week where I could not stop singing Span from Bare Naked Ladies one week? A few days more like off and on for years. What are you kidding me? That's one of mine. Anytime you say like, well, it's been I'll in my mind, right? You you won't even finish the sentence and she'll do that one out loud. I mean, a lot of these you just most of us will do it internally. Not Kylie, right? Kylie. I mean, with that one anyway. Yeah. You know, you you might be like, "Hey, you know what? When did we last talk about deer car collisions?" Because I Well, I didn't even say it yet. Okay. But continue that sentence because I have another one with that phrase because I think it's been it's been a while. Oh my god. That's right. That was the other one. I could hold my head up high. That's right. It's two different songs with It's Ben. So, we want to know, does anybody else suffer from this musical trigger syndrome where you hear a word, a phrase, something, you see a thing, and instantly you have a song popping up in your head? Do you have any of those? 1800283 101.5. John in Mount Laurel, you're on New Jersey 101.5. Hey guys. Hey. Hey, John. When's the last time you called in? Yes, Baron. Damn it. That's what I was going to do. I was going to have a while. Yeah, it's been a while. I'm sorry. I was trying to set it up. Oh, you're all good. All right. So, John, what do you have this or you just calling to tell us that we need help? No, no. I I have it, too. Like, if if I if I'm near somebody or everyone's like, I'm a smoker. The first thing I think I'm like, are you also the Joker or the Midnight Toer? Oh, yes. There it is. I'm a smoker. I'm a toker. Yes. I'm the pompetus of love. I hope no one calls you Maurice. No. No. Not anymore. Not anymore. What do you mean not anymore? Oh, they used to, sure, but not anymore. All the time. I feel like there are so many triggers in this one. Yeah, this one's got a lot any I think a lot of Steve Miller band songs have a lot of triggers in them just cuz they're so catchy. [Music] I'm just listening to the song. Yeah, I I'm I'm trying to hear a little jam sash. You know, another one could be Oh, here we go. [Music] Mhm. No, John, I think you nailed this. I think almost every line [Music] it's midnight toker. Okay. I was trying to remember where the toker and the joker thing cuz I will like do those interchangeably. But even that when you say midnights I'm thinking I'm I'm thinking hey midnights become my afternoons. Even if you just hear, "Hey, don't worry." Easily. You could start going, "Don't worry, don't worry now, baby." Not, "Don't worry, be happy." Or you could do, "Don't worry, be happy." Right? You could do, "Don't worry, be happy." Right. Yeah. Don't worry. Could be a lot of them. John, we could spend this whole hour on that song. Oh my goodness. There's another one. Is it a Beach Boy song where they go, "Don't worry, baby." Was it Is it a Beach Boy song? I know exactly what you're talking about. Yeah, but I can't sing it well enough to make it. Right. Right. Yeah. I don't know. Anyway, John, I'm I'm glad I'm glad we're not the only ones. Thank you, John, for calling New Jersey 101.5. Yeah, I think that's Beach Boys. I'll look it up during a break. No one No one called Marissa and Julia. Yeah. Uh Nancy in Medford Lakes is calling. Hi, Nancy. Oh, hey. How are you? We're good. That's good. I can't complain, but sometimes I still do. Right. Right. That's Oh, boy. Hope you're doing well. Nancy, do you have a musical trigger? Are you weird like us? I am very weird. Almost everything. Someone says, uh, because I'm as old as I am, it triggers a song somewhere. Oh, so you have it bad. You have the syndrome bad. I do. I do. Yeah. I I annoy most of my friends. Which one came to mind when we started talking about this? Um, well, so right away when you said the stop one, I was hearing stop. Hey, what's that sound? What's going down? Oh, yes. I I There's so many with stop. That's so funny. Yeah. Stop. Right. The word stop triggers probably at least 10 different songs in people. Sure. Okay. Nancy, now are you more like Jeff where you'll just have this internal thought or are you like me where you're like, I got to sing it right now. So, it actually depends on if I'm in some place where I feel comfortable, I will just blurt it out and people will forgive me. But if I'm in a big setting with a lot of people, it is it's internal and it's just as much of a challenge to, you know, to, you know, where I'm, oh, I'm supposed to be focusing on the sermon the pastor's preaching, but instead I have this rock and roll song going in my head, you know, that type of thing. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, man. The internal struggle is so real. Hey, hey, Nancy, thank you for uh thank you for making us feel a little less odd by admitting that you have this. We appreciate it, Nancy. Thank you. We could use more help, though. So, if anybody else has this. Hey, you know what? Are you saying maybe what help? We need somebody help. Not just anybody. My god, it's so bad. It's rampant. Um, maybe everybody has this. Do you think there's anybody listening who never ever has had this at all? Ever once? I don't know. That's a great question. I don't I have no clue. I wouldn't want a lot of those because that would be kind of dull. But if there's a single person who's never had this, then yeah, feel free to call and tell us that you think we're weird. You know what? I'm going to him. Danny de Cresenzo. I don't have this. I don't know what you're Oh, Danny. For me, for me, it's more facts. Jill was talking about Mastic in her coffee, I think. And I said, "Oh, that's on the island of Chios. It's a Greek island." She goes, "Yes, it is. How'd you know that?" Who cares though? We're talking about songs. Yeah, but that's the thing. I don't I don't do a song thing. I do a fact thing. So, whatever you guys are talking about, it's like an alien language to me. I don't spontaneous name that tune. You're on Jeopardy over there. Exactly. Mine's fact-based. It's not song based. See this? No, you do have that mind though. See, this is unimaginable to me. I like, you know, my parents have it and I think it's a generational thing. I really do. No, cuz she's in her 30s. Okay. I'm in my 20s. So, I don't generation. So if I said stop, you don't automatically think of like a song with collaborate and listen. No, I think of a stop sign. Oh my. Oh wow. You're probably much more palatable palatable to be around. I I hope so. Aren't normal people weird? All right. 180023. Seems exhausting. 1800 283 101.5. Need help with your electric bill? New Jersey 101.5. It is uh 537. And yeah, we already did the code this hour. Sorry about that. But tomorrow we resume the $1,000 at work payday with Bill Spadia in the morning in the 8:00 hour. All right, so we're talking about musical trigger syndrome is what I would call this. Um I wonder if there's actually I wonder if this has actually been studied, you know, cuz like people get like scientists get grant money from the government for studying all kinds of nonsense. I think it must have been because there's actually a board game about this. Is there really? Yes, Jill Myra texted me about it. I didn't know that. And I love, you know, I love a port mento. It's called spontaneous. Oh, right. So, I guess my limited understanding of this game because I've never seen it in person. I just have a screen grab is that one person says a word and then the other players have to be the first one to sing a song that contains that word. Oh, wow. So, we are Jeff Sponttonius. Yeah. Huh. All right. All right. So, do you have this or are we crazy? 1 800283101.5. Steve in South Planefield, you're on New Jersey 101.5. I guess both could be true. Hey, Steve. Hey. Yeah. How you doing? Yeah, I was always embarrassed about this because like I'm always thinking like, you know, like, oh, if people find out, they're going to think that boy ain't right. No, there there are many of us every day. You do. Like there's always like a phrase like somebody said to me once like a couple of weeks ago, it's astounding. And I responded with time is fleeting. Madness takes its time. Horror. Yeah. Every day my buddy Ron will say to me, "One more day and then I'll go into like a Vietnam flashback and like I'm singing Lame Miser Robs in my head." Steve, we are kindred spirits. That's exactly where I went when you said that. You know what, Steve? You just gave me one. Um I don't know if you know the song, but when when you said the word every day, I started going in my head. I started going every day. Every day I write the book is Elvis Costello song. Oh, see I went with a different one. No, it's okay. I went with a different song that neither of you will know by the band Magic Man. Every day. Every day. Every day. Uh, okay. So, there are so many You're not alone, man. I don't have one for every day. Yeah. No, it's crazy. There's got to be a 12step program we could put together, Steve. I I just keep it on myself. Pretend to be normal. And even even when you said that, I'm thinking dancing with myself. There you go. I keep it to myself. So, let's sink another drink. I'm going to say there's something right with us, not something wrong with us. We have some whimsy. See, thank you for calling New Jersey 101.5. Tim in Mount Holly is calling in with one. Hey, Tim. Hey, guys. Thanks for taking my call. Of course. So, this one's more for Kylie and our generation. Whenever anyone says, "Where are you?" I always say, "I'm so sorry." Blink 182. I know the song, too. Yeah, that's a great song. Blink 182. Yep. I I'm also going to say that same song when people mention spiders. The webs from all the spiders. And you have to do it in the voice. You have to do the voice. You have to do the the the weird like voice. Which one is it? Tom Delong. I don't remember. The Where are you? Like where are you? And I'm so sorry. You have to commit. You have to commit. You almost sounded like Kermit the Frog for a second. But it's good. Like Jeff, relisten to the song. That was a really good impression of it. Oh, no. I know. Oh, I know it is. Oh, it's very Yeah, it's Oh, he just emotes so much in that. I cannot sleep. I cannot dream tonight. Mhm. There are like seven extra vowels in every word that he says. Yep. Tim, I love that one. Thank you so much for calling New Jersey 101.5. Uh, Monty on Staten Island. Hi. Hey, how are you guys? Okay, good. Do you suffer uh musical trigger syndrome? Like like a bad habit every single day. Every time somebody tells me you can't touch this, I just go and then they start dancing and then they're like, "What the hell's wrong with you?" And I was like, "Couch time can't even fix this." Will will it even like if if if you're if you're in a Hallmark store where they have like little dainty items and if you see a sign that says you touch it, you break it, you bought it, will you start doing can't touch this or no? Dude, every time I'm like a fool in a china shop. I never grew up with my childhood. So anytime I'm in a store, I'm always touching everything to see what goes. The rubber duckies. Yeah, the rubber duckies. Back in the day when there was a Toys R Us, they used to have a roll of rubber duckies and you used to start squeezing the hell out of all of them and you'd hear the entire aisle go. Okay, Monty, this conversation alone, you have given me two separate triggers, but I didn't want to interrupt you. You saying like a bad habit triggered like a bat out of hell. And then rubber ducky. Obviously, I'm thinking Sesame Street. Oh, I was too. I was thinking too, but rubber ducky. Yeah, you're the one. Yes. You make bath time so much fun. Yes. Oh my god. That That's a sign of you guys getting older, too. Oh, this is this is maddening. Oh, this is awful. There's got to be medication for this. No, there's no medication. You can't even have couch time to fix this. What's wrong with you? What were you going to say? The best part of this is what? Or don't you remember? No, I was leading up to the couch time, but I just think right there when you said what you said. All right. Wait, I can't believe that in that one conversation alone, two separate ones. But Monty, thank you for calling New Jersey 101.5. I'm going to have rubber ducky stuck in my head all night. Oh yes, sponsors. You too can reach this twisted demographic. There's something wrong with all of us. Cool. Tony and Tom Driver, you're on New Jersey 101.5. Hey Tony, you there? Do we lose you? Is the mute button on Tony with an eye? That'll happen. Take the mute button off. Okay. Is there any now? Okay. Now, is there anybody out there? Yep. Now that triggered that. That triggered Pink Floyd in my head. Just not if you can hear me. Just take off the mute button. Sandra in Swedesboro, you're on New Jersey 101.5. Hey y'all. What's up? I do think something is wrong with all of us cuz I have it bad too. You have it too. I do. Which one gets you so bad? Well, there's this one song from Prince in Sign of the Time in his Sign of the Time album. When somebody said, "What was that?" I always say, "After the shop, cuz that's what he says in the retro." Oh, I don't know that one. Oh, I'm not like I'm not deep enough in like I like Prince, but I'm probably one of those more like all the really big hits. You know what I mean? Oh, yeah. Well, that was a pretty Was it all right? Yeah, that's a hole in my swing then. Yeah. No, I really do like Prince. I'm not I'm not I'm not being opposer. I'm just not Maybe if I heard it, maybe I would recognize it. Yeah, I'm looking. We don't have it in our system. But I will say another Prince one. And this is a little more cookie cutter, Sandra. Um, you know, if it's raining outside, purple rain. Purple rain. Oh, just seeing the rain. Yes. Yes. Absolutely. And it always takes me back to the halftime show from from Outcast when I got written up at work and I asked the boss how long it looked gone last. So I said forever and then I said forever and then everybody's like oh from the song you know Mrs. Jackson. You know what I mean? I am. Oh Sandra. What about this one Sandra? Now now this is I think late 80s early 90s. I'm not sure. But this is old school. But if somebody goes, if somebody goes, "Okay, people, here's the situation. Your parents went away on a week's vacation. Parents just don't understand." By Will Smith. Fresh Press Prince. No, nothing. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Here's the situation. Sandra, thank you for calling New Jersey 101.5. There is an excellent opening of an episode of Parks and Recreation about that where someone says, "Here's the situation." And then Leslie Nope, Amy Polar's character, goes through like most of the song. Yeah. And Ron Swanson lets her like like, you know, do the whole thing and then just goes like there's something on fire. Not the exact quote, but that's the gest. No, I know. I know. I know you're trying to speed it up for time, but yes, I've seen it. It's very funny. God, I love that show. All right, so we're talking about musical trigger syndrome. Who has it? Who doesn't? 18002831.5. Part ads mean hot deals at Sans. [Applause] [Music] Well, you mentioned wine. Mhm. So, obviously I'm going to think of this. But you don't like red wine, Lieutenant Diane. Aren't you a white wine? Uh, but they have a really nice pink blush. All right, we're talking about musical triggers and uh yeah, it's funny how many people are calling in uh that say they have this. You hear a phrase, a word, even just see a thing and you start having a song going off in your head. Ada in America, you're on New Jersey 101.5. Hi. How you guys doing? Hey, how are you? Great. This is so funny cuz honestly I thought I was the only one doing this. No. Welcome to the party, pal. And uh okay, so mine is this. Uh Bella will yell, "Brian, hit me." And I'd go, "What? You, Brian, hit the road, Jack, and don't you come back no more." That's for you, Kylie. All the extra moors were for you. Now, woman, woman. Oh, yes. Love that. Love that. Yeah. But and like you guys, I've been listening. I'm sitting here trying to think, "Oh, I have a million of them. I can't come up with one. I had I know. Right, right, right. It's like they only hit you when you hear it, right? They're hard to just recall. No, you're right. You're right. Terrible. Terrible. And I'm glad we're not alone. Thank you for calling New Jersey 101.5. Patricia in Bordontown. You're on New Jersey 101.5. Hello. Hey. Hi. Yeah. So, you had mentioned earlier you had just said the word stop and automatically stop in the name of love came to my head. And then stop by the Spice Girl Scrolls. Oh, came to my head. Stop right now. Thank you very much. That one. That one. Oh, I never would have gotten to that one, but now that you said it, that's going to be that works. That might be my new one. That that might replace hairspray, frankly. Here's another one that that will come up. Like if my son before he went to college, if we say like, "Hey, do you have the time to go to the store?" And I'm like, "Do you have the time to listen to me whine?" Yep. Yep. 100%. Green Day, man. I love it. I could have talked about this for the rest of the night, but unfortunately, we are going to switch topics. Yeah, we are. Fish, thank you for calling New Jersey 101.5. Danny Deer sends us news coming up in four and a half minutes. Zaminsky. And if you're craving fresh New Jersey chime time, it is 611. Happy Friday eve to everybody. That means it's Thursday. That means it's Thursday, the evening before Friday when everybody gets into that weekend mood on Friday. So, uh, yeah. And, um, hey, uh, tomorrow resumes the $1,000 at work payday. So, make sure that you're listening with the morning show with Bill Spadia. That will be in the 8:00 hour and it will go right through Judy EJ and right into our show in afternoons also tomorrow. Oh, and Kylie was uh kind of admiring I think it was on Instagram. You're looking at this this this place called Glow. It's a Halloween light drive-thru Halloween light display. I've been going back and forth with them on Instagram. Visit Glow. Yeah, we're um we're going to be giving away uh VIP car passes. Basically, like the tickets to get in there. Like you pile your kids in the car, give them some hot chocolate, whatever. And uh and they have like various times that you can go where you set yourself up so you're not waiting. But the cool thing is these are the VIP passes, which means you don't even wait in line anyway. You're just ushered right in, which is very cool. These are like uh I was looking at the site. I think it's like $85 these prizes, these passes. Yeah. So, this is this is nice. Yeah. I was looking at their Instagram and I I was having a back and forth with them during uh during breaks. They were saying how they're excited for tomorrow and I was like, I'm excited for you. I was talking about Ghost Face from Scream. It looks amazing. Ah, you're smoozing glow, are you? You're smoozing glow. I'm not smoozing. I'm admiring. Yeah. Look at you. No, I know you are. I know you want to go and see that Ghost Face. You just want to go to see like if if only Ghost Face, you want to go just to see Ghost Face. I love Scream. Also, I know. I know. I know. I I sent this to you before we before you go uh started going on that tangent, but I just wanted to say I was talking about All County Exteriors. Take a take a look. See, I got a picture from my mom of her and my dad's front door. I wasn't looking at my phone. Hold on. That All County Exteriors was doing today. Mhm. It's gorgeous. Whoa. Very nice. I mean, oh yeah, that old door looked like hell. I mean, I'm kidding. I'm kidding. Kylie's parents. It's okay. They're not listening. I'm totally kidding. No, but that's very That's really really nice. No, they do great work. Oh, man. That's a be. Look at that. All right. Go for them. All right. So, I saw something on USA Today and you know, you're looking at a news site and okay, maybe USA Today is not the most hardcore news site, you know, but still, you're looking at a new site and you expect it to be like just straight news, right? And they're supposed to, if they're going to like sneak an ad in it look like it's uh uh like a news story, they're supposed to let you know that. And I can't remember seeing that this thing was like actually paid for by a sponsor, but I don't know, maybe the rules on it have changed or maybe I just didn't catch it, whatever. But I'm reading this thing because it was about flu shots. And then I realized like partway in it's like, wait a minute. This is written by Walgreens. This isn't written by a news reporter. This is basically an ad. But but it's made to look You ever see those folks? You know, it's made to look like a like a legit news article. And I'm not saying that I have never gotten a flu shot or don't believe in them, but it made me think, you know, this really is just like an ad. And I know a lot of people don't believe them. And so I was kind of inspired. I want to ask, do you get a flu shot? Do you believe in getting a flu shot? Are you going to get a flu shot? If you do, would you get it this early? Because um that's what they're pushing. It starts off the best way to stay protected this flu season is to get a flu shot. Summer's winding down, which means flu season is right around the corner. According to the CDC, flu activity typically rises in October and November with peaks between December and February. And see right there, that's what I always think. It's like, well, do I want to get it now? Because I feel like it'll run out. Well, yeah, kind of. And so I look that up separately, you know, because I'm not going to trust an ad, not from them. But so I just wanted to see. And but sure enough, it does say like legitimate medical uh sites say a flu shot is supposed to last 6 months. And like so many other knuckleheads out there, I'm just as much of a knucklehead because I'm thinking, "Yeah, but does it really?" Like I'm trusting the science of the flu shot, yet I'm not trusting the science of how long the flu shot is actually effective. You're a tortured soul, right? Like, so I'm just as guilty as the person who's not trusting the flu shot at all. I'm denying science, too. But I'm just treating it like it's a buffet, you know, instead of black and white. Like, well, I'll believe this part, but I'm not going to believe that part. Like, what's wrong with me? It's like if I'm going to believe it, I should just believe them. But yet I'm not. I don't want to get one yet because I just still feel like, okay, they say 6 months, but is it I don't know. Is it Is it 6 months? Right. Exactly. Right. I I I feel like it would be safer to get it by December, but I am not a doctor. Do not take my advice. Okay. This is just like my own paranoia. Neither one of us are medical professionals, right? Not at all. Uh, but there's like a big divide in this country about that. And I just want to ask at 1800283101.5, do you get one? Do you get a flu shot? And do you get it because you believe in them? Do you get it because maybe your significant other just nags you about it? Do you get it because your job makes you get it? Do you get it now because now you have some pre-existing condition, but you do used to not like that's me. I never got a flu shot until I found out that I had developed type one uh diabetes. That's what Yeah. I never got one growing up. I never got one in my 20s. I was like uh late 20s before I found out that I had that. And then they were like, "You really should get one because uh for somebody with type one, it can be really devastating." Okay, that was going to be my question. So type two, it wouldn't be asative. I don't actually I don't know. But but I do know that type one is the much more serious type. Like we're the ones who like go blind and you know lose a limb and kidneys fail and all that. More likely. Yeah. All the fun stuff. Woohoo. Yeah. No, it was just because that you clarified that it was type one. They wanted to ask if there was Yeah. Just cuz that's what I am. Yeah. Yeah. I I I think they should probably get one too medical with medical advice. But Right. So, like I I like I'm not gonna I'm not going to get on anyone's case if they don't get it because I never used to either. That's the only reason. And even since I found that out over the years, um there's still a year or two or three or five that I never bothered even though I supposed to because I've got that pre-existing thing and I just still never bothered. I'm like, me, you know? Uh and yet I do believe them. I'm I'm not one of those people that believes that the flu shot can give you the flu. I do not believe that. I understand how they're supposed to work. I get all that. The only thing I doubt is how long they're actually effective. That's why I don't want to get one yet, you know. Um Yeah, but I'm not like hellbent on it. And I always thought it was weird when you get one like at like, you know, like a Walmart or something. Oh, that's my that's like my go-to. That or like a CVS, a Walgreens. Yeah, I feel weird getting them there. I feel like I want to get one in a doctor's office. Like they've got the good stuff. You guys got like, you know, and and and again, I'm denying science. It's dumb. The good stuff. You make it sound like drug. It is drugs, but you know, like the vial doesn't know like which store it's in or if it's in a doctor's office or if it's in a, you know, Walgreens or a Walmart. It doesn't know. But yet in my head I'm thinking this just seems cheesy to get in a Walmart. It's less than. Yeah. Yeah. It doesn't seem right. So anyway, we want to know, do you get flu shots? 1800 283 101.5. Here's a look at Fast Traffic. Very good savings. This is New Jersey 101.5. We're talking about whether you get a flu shot. Do you get your shot? It's talked about a lot. Um, that was really good. Oh. Oh, what? No. I almost want you No, like that dead ass. I want you to keep going. Nope. Nope. All right. But um again, I'm not going to get on anybody's case for not getting it because again, I did not for like the first half of my life, I never bothered. It was only cuz I, you know, got this disease. And they're saying like, "You're much more at risk." And uh God knows it's true. Like where other people get a cold, I'll get bronchitis. Where where they will get bronchitis with me, it'll be pneumonia and so on. So, you know, now I do usually, but not always. All right. All right. So, but do you get one 1800 283101.5? Jeff and Lakers, you're on New Jersey 101.5. Hey, what's up, guys? Jeeoff. All right. So, so my thought on it is I'm 60 I'm 63. Never had a never had a a flu shot. I'm a carpenter for 44 years. And um my customers get it and every time it seems like every time they get the shot they get sick. Everybody, you know, they all go and say, "Oh, you're getting old. you don't want to get a really blown out flu, so get the shot. And they end up getting sick, you know? I mean, maybe not as sick as they would, but I I'm just listen, sorry to say, but just like the co I wouldn't put that garbage in my in my system. That's like uh Yeah, that um that looks really good. It's antifreeze. Let me take a little sip, you know? I mean uh really I I I guess like like you were saying, to each their own, you know, but if you uh have good Hello. Yeah. No. Yeah, we're just I really have you guys' attention then. I was listening to a podcast. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, you've been talking well. We're just letting you talk. I'm sorry. Go ahead. Yeah. But that's just just my feeling. I don't believe in um most of the the stuff that's out there. Granted, there are some um good stuff, but if you if you have good hygiene, which I see so many, especially women putting their fingers to their mouth or on their nails and stuff like that, putting your fingers in your mouth and putting your fingers to your face, it goes in, it can go into rubbing your eyes, it can go into your eyes. You walk into a store and you pick up a germ, but you know, if you I my feeling is I keep you know, keep your hands I'm a carpenter, so you know, I'm going get splinters and stuff like that. go get a pair of tweezers and pull it out. You know what I'm saying? So that Oh, I'm sorry. You go. No, I was just going to say so I mean I I don't believe and as you said to each to each their own. I I I believe the science that says, you know, that it's a dead virus when it's the shot. Uh and that and that it can't actually give you the flu. But but I will give you this. many many years. They only guess they only guess at what strain they're trying to cover. I was I was just going to say that too, you know, right which one is it, you know? Yep. And it's never 100%. And there have been years where it's like only 20% effective. And so even if you get it, 80% chance it's going to be useless anyway. So, I mean, I will give you that, right? It is definitely never anywhere near 100%. And I was just going to say it's funny that you brought up the COVID vaccine but then also uh women touching their face because well while I did believe in like I believe in vaccines again to each their own. Um I to that was the one part of co where I was like I'm not I'm not buying into this. I am going to continue to touch my face. So yeah you know like you called it to a tea on that one Jeeoff. There you go. And and the same thing with the same thing with the mask. You know when they talk about that stuff I mean I'm a carpenter. You know, you ever put spackle on a wall, especially you doing a whole room, and then you you put the N, was it N95? N95. You put that on and it's the same thing they wanted you to use for the CO. Can you see CO? No. But I can guarantee you can see sheetrock dust. And when you get done, you're going to have still it's going to go through that mask. You're going to have it on your eyelids and everything else. So CO is the same thing. I know this is a whole new story, but Yeah. And you know what? And the dust from that and the dust from that sheetrock whatever that's going through is probably still thicker than the little virus. Uh and so if that could get through, you're saying that the virus probably got through anyway. Jeeoff, we are up against the news. Thank you so much for calling New Jersey 101.5. Take care. All right, so we'll take more of your calls coming up. We're uh we're asking uh do you get a flu shot? Because this is the month that they're starting to suggest everybody piles in to places like Walgreens and gets them. 1800283101.5. Let's meet hot deals at Santa. It is 6:37 on New Jersey 101.5. Jeff and Kylie hanging out with you. We want to know, do you get a flu shot? Even if it's inconsistent, we just want to know what your MO is cuz Jeff, I'm kind of with you. I have gotten them. I do believe in them. Some years I'm a little lazy. Yeah. Yeah. Me, too. Right. I'm not hellbent on it. I don't Yeah. And he and I and I've got a reason that I that that I'm told by doctors I should. That's why I started getting it. But yeah, first 30 years of my life, I didn't bother ever. Never ever. But uh no. So yeah, where do you stand on that? 1800 283101.5. Chris and Chester, you're on New Jersey 101.5. Do you get a flu shot? No, I don't actually. I think that's it's a terrible idea for everybody. What? And I would want to make me well I would first want to make mention that um Jeff's uh you know later diagnosis of type 1 diabetes um very well could be related to vaccines actually because if you read the if you actually read the insert um diabetes is one of the possible side effects and so along with that and then if you read any vaccine insert if you actually take the time um like for instance like 13.1 it's on every single vaccine it'll say it'll say this vaccine has not been tested for its ability to be carcinogenic or meatogenic or its ability to be to impair uh fertility. So for these reasons I think it's an awful idea. I think that um you know there's a lot of like for instance the adivants or the preservatives are harmful like mercury is harmful. Um aluminum hydroxide is harmful. So um people may say they get sick after the vaccine. Well that's because you're putting in neurotoxins into your bloodstream and that's why you're getting sick after the vaccine. So it's not like you're actually getting sick. Your body's reacting to the preservative. So I would just Well, your body is reacting to the dead virus because that's how immunity happens is they give you a little bit of it, but it's a dead virus to get your body to actually if it then comes across the live virus to actually respond properly. That's why people are feeling sick. They warn you that you're going to get feverish, that you might have some bodyaches. Uh that's it's supposed to happen with a vaccine. Well, there it's a they they warn you that, but if you look up actually what your reactions are for mercury poisoning, they're the same exact thing as that. You're going to get a fever. Your body's trying to uh get rid of the, you know, the the toxin, you know, the neurotoxins into your in your bloodstream. So, it's trying to get rid of them. Your the mercury poisoning does the exact same thing. It's going to make you feel tired. It's going to make you feel sick. So um you know there there is a um you know a certainly a reaction that you know people will feel after the vaccine and that's that's the you know the neurotoxins that you're putting into your bloodstream. Also for what you were saying about Jeff I'm looking at nationalacademas.org and it's saying that there is no evidence that flu vaccines could cause type 1 diabetes. Well, you if you actually read the read the insert though, Kylie, you need to read the actual insert and it'll look at it like the MMR2 vaccine Merc. It'll say diabetes uh melatitis is uh related to um you know it's a it's a possible side effect. Okay. But Jeff also said that he didn't get the vaccine until he was diagnosed with diabetes. So where did he have other vaccines? Did he have other vaccines in his life? So I can't speak for him. So So have you ever had a vaccine? Did you never get a polio vaccine as a child? Did you never get uh measles, mumps, reubella vaccines as a child? Nothing ever. Well, I mean there there are many things that I've done in my life that I regret doing and vaccines was definitely one of them. I mean, I just think that it's something that we should all talk about that people are for vaccines, I don't think they understand the science at all. You know, they just uh So, so the CDC is wrong. The Center for Dise is absolutely wrong. I would quote um yeah I would quote some like for instance if you want to quote the CDC I would quote William Thompson who is uh basically a uh you probably about 10 or more years ago he came out against vaccines he was working who's a senior scientist at the CDC coming out and saying what what have we done um you know basically relating vaccines and autism and saying the MMR2 is definitely related um to vaccines and autism and no it is absolutely no it is absolutely not that has been debunked countless times countless times. Can you do me a favor? Can you do me a favor and just Thompson Chris? I have two autistic children and two non-aututistic children and I have looked this up at Nauseium and even the guy who did the bogus study who he even admits that he fudged the study because he was trying desperately to prove something because in his heart he thought he was doing the right thing. Even that guy admits that he was wrong. So, I don't want to start yelling, but this is very personal for me. Vaccines do not cause autism. So, we're just going to we're we're going to agree to disagree. I don't want to go there. Thank you for calling. We have other calls. Chris, thank you so much. Joe in Edison, you're on New Jersey 101.5. Hi. How you doing, guys? Great show. Great topic. Yes, I'm 73. I've always gotten a flu shot. And I've always gotten the COVID shots. Uh whether it was because of work or not, it's just something I've always done. I'm a four-year kidney cancer survivor. And of course, just congratulations. Thank you. Just like Jeff with his diabetes, you got to you got to watch out for yourself and everything. And uh just want to throw this at you. My mom always got a flu shot and she lived to 102 years old. Wow. Wow. Damn. Okay. So, uh, uh, maybe that maybe that's what push her to 102. I do not know, but right, you never know. But always got them. How how early do you get your flu shot? Uh, put it this way. My wife is and my wife also has gotten them. She's going to the doctor next week and we're probably going to get screamed at cuz we haven't done it yet. I want to give some numbers here and I know the caller prior to you will just say, well, he knows more than the CDC and he doesn't trust the CDC and that's his right. That's his right. Um, but as far as as far as a flu vaccine doing damage, okay, there is this thing called the vaccine injury compensation program. And a lot of antivaxers love to point that out. It's like, well, they even have this compensation program. this is how dangerous blah blah blah. Well, anybody can file things with them, but it it it doesn't necessarily mean that it was ever actually proven to have done the damage. But under that program, as of 2022, only 228 deaths had been filed after uh flu shot. As of 2022, only 228 compared to the deaths prevented in one flu season alone. 7,900 deaths prevented, 120,000 hospitalizations prevented, 4.8 million medical visits prevented, and 9.8 million illnesses prevented in one flu season alone. But that's from the CDC. So, a lot of people will say, "Oh, well, you know, what do they know?" Wow. Joe, stay healthy. Thank you so much for calling New Jersey 101.5. What about you? Do you get a flu shot every year or are you kind of are you kind of iffy on it? 1 800283101.5. New Jersey 101.5 and uh 652. Uh Shrod Williams coming up. Uh we're talking about flu shots. Do you believe in them? Do you get them? Did you have one? And did it kill you? 1800 283101.5. Are you calling from heaven? Yeah, it's spooky season. Calling from the grave. Miranda in Matuchin, you're on New Jersey 101.5. Hi guys. Thanks for taking my call. Of course. Thank you for calling. Uh, yes, I do typically get the flu shot, but I'm chronically always behind. So, your program actually reminded me that I need to set an appointment to go get one. Uh, when do you usually end up doing it? Like three weeks before the season is done, like in February or something? It's not that bad. Um during uh during college and and school, I would typically be more on top of it like very end of summer, like early like September when they first come out with the new season shot. I'd be like the first in line. Yeah. Now it's September, mid October range. So I'm at the end of my typical range for getting it. Yeah. They make you grow antlers though, you know that. Oh yeah. Okay. And you're going to glow in the dark. And and yeah, I am I am calling from from a graveyard. So, you're being such a good sport, Miranda. Thank you. No problem. Um, you guys, you guys, too. I I appreciate taking these calls on this cuz um and you you brought up it. I Jeff the numbers that you listed out or or Kylie I forget who but um those are a great perspective on it because as long as you're not going to like as long as you don't have a medical reason not to get the vaccine it can't hurt to have it because it's going to give you some amount of protection almost never right almost never hurts and right you're I mean statistically but but the problem is and and you know this I can tell you're smart. The problem is a lot of people just don't even trust, you know, the greatest minds in science, but a lot of people think that they know better. Well, yeah, they know how to Google because they'll say, "Yeah, you got to do your own research." It's like, well, or maybe you got to go to school for 20 years. Miranda, we want to squeeze in one more call, but stay healthy and thank you for calling New Jersey 101.5. John and Hamilton, what do you say? Hey, how's it going? Um, I'm not an antivaxer. I got the flu shot, but I will tell you there, I'm more cautious of what I put in my body and what I give to my my children. Uh we had a friend of ours who uh got the flu shot and ended up in a wheelchair. She was paralyzed um for nearly a year and it was directly linked to the flu vaccine. That was that was just an unbelievable side effect. I know that doesn't happen to everybody but there is you know there is instances where it can uh we had another friend who gave who gave Yeah. We had another friend who gave the HPV vaccine to their daughter. They developed narcolepsy from it. Um it happens. Yeah. And yeah, it's and there's a study going on with that vaccine in Texas where they're showing a lot of children who have gotten this that HPV have developed some serious serious side effects. So, does it happen, you know, more often than not? Probably not. But it is good to be cautious and and you know, do your I'm not saying do your research, but ask your doctor. But no, I hear you. Right. Yeah. What are the odds? Hey. Yeah. Yeah. John, we're not trying to cut you off, but uh we we got to get out of here. Sherrod's going to beat us down if we uh Oh, he's a he's a vicious one that Oh, he's mean. John, thank you for calling in. Sherrod Williams, he's nothing but nice. I know. Sherrod Williams is spilling in for Steve Cre. You'll hear him after Danny's news on New Jersey 101.5. and see tomorrow.
