Two Prostitutes Convicted in Atlantic City Robbery

An Atlantic County jury has convicted two prostitutes or robbing a man in Atlantic City.

Authorities say 21-year-old Asiameik Mayo of Cocoa, Fla., and 23-year-old Hanifa Rodriguez of Miami met 41-year-old Maung Oo of Elmhurst, N.Y., on July 30, 2010 and accompanied him and his friend to a hotel suite at Harrah's Resort.

They say that once there, the two stole thousands of dollars from Oo, then used pepper spray on Oo and the other man, 38-year-old Sandro Estrello of Woodside, N.Y.

Defense lawyers argued that the women used the pepper spray in self-defense.

The women are both due in court Feb. 24 for sentencing. Both could receive up to five years in prison.
