Truck fire closes all lanes of Turnpike South in Mount Laurel
MOUNT LAUREL — A truck fire on the New Jersey Turnpike caused traffic problems to start the commute on Tuesday.
A fully loaded car carrier caught fire south of Exit 4 in Mount Laurel, closing all lanes to be around 5:30 a.m, State Police said. Only the left shoulder was getting by as of 7:30 a.m.
Police said the truck was already pulled over to the shoulder possibly for a mechanical problem when it caught fire but the driver was not injured.
Route 295 is the best alternative to get around the fire scene.
