MOUNT LAUREL — A tractor trailer that hit an overpass on  the New Jersey Turnpike early Friday closed the highway during the early part of Friday morning's commute.

State Police spokesman Alejandro Goes  said the tractor trailer drifted onto the right shoulder around 3:30 a.m.,  hit a guard rail and crashed into an overpass several miles north of Exit no. 4 for Route 73 in Mount Laurel.

Driver Gadiel Agosto-Diaz, 44, of Oxford, Pa suffered minor injuries while a 16-year-old female passenger was flown to Cooper University Medical Center for serious injuries.

One lane was reopened for clean up, inspection of the bridge and investigation All lanes were reopened by 7 a.m.

The truck was the only vehicle involved in the crash and an investigation is ongoing into the cause of the crash, according to Goes.
