A 3-year-old Toms River boy was bit in the face by his family dog on Monday night.

Reports say that he was bit in the face by the dog in his home in the Normandy Beach section of the Ocean County community around 8:15 p.m. First aid was administered to the boy before he was flown to Cooper University Medical Center in Camden for treatment. The owners of the dog voluntarily turned the dog over to Toms River Animal Control so he could be humanly euthanized.

These cases pop up often throughout the state, and it often sparks a debate as to what the owner should do with their dog after an attack like this. Should a dog owner in this situation give the dog a second chance and keep it, put the dog up for adoption, or do what this family did and put the dog down? Take the poll below.
