These merchants , who continue to rebound from Sandy, have only a limited time to profit and that time keeps getting shorter with makeup days from the snow extending into June and colleges starting earlier.

This year, the outlook for shore merchants is positive so far. You can find so many great values in the local shops because unlike the big stores, they have an urgency to move product simply because they don’t have much time to do it. Also, for many merchants, there’s a bond of trust and friendship that comes with seeing the same people year after year.
