Thieves steal Oxycodone, not cash, from drug store at gunpoint
FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP — Two men held up a CVS pharmacy at gunpoint and demanded the pharmacist hand over the prescription drug Oxycodone.
Freehold Township Police said the pair entered the store at the Raintree Town Center on West Main Street early Monday morning between 12:50 a.m. and 1 a.m. and presented a note with their demand. One of the two followed the pharmacist to the store safe to get the pills, police said. The men then left the store on foot, police said.
Police said the employees described the suspects as Hispanic men between the ages of 20 and 30 both wearing black clothing and baseball caps. One man was described as 6 feet and 2 inches tall; the other was described as 6 feet tall with a goatee.
Surveillance photos show the men were wearing blue gloves.
The Monmouth County Sheriff's K-9 unit was not able to successfully track the suspects.
Freehold Township Police asked anyone with information about the incident to call 732-294-2110.
