The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is trying to protect us from God. They have a problem with elementary school students in New Jersey saying the phrase “God bless America” after reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. The facts that the phrase “Under God” appears in the Pledge, and that the students have been doing this since the attacks on 9/11 doesn’t matter to them. What’s got their patriotic panties in a twist is that someone is invoking God’s daily blessing as a ritual and that is unconstitutional.

Personally I think with the way things are now in both New Jersey and the United States, we need all the help from as many gods as we can get and have no problem with it. In fact, I think the phrase can be a teaching moment where they would want to know more about God if they don’t already, whichever God they happen to believe in.

But if this bothers you, would you rather put your child in the religious school of your choice? There they can learn all about God. Do you feel safer knowing that the ACLU is on the job protecting our children from God?

How much God do you want your children to have? Let’s say all things being equal, if you had your choice of putting your child in public school or Catholic or the religious school of your choice, which would you choose? How much God are they getting now?
