Scotch Plains police said they were called to the 300 block of Myrtle Avenue Friday night by someone who saw an object thrown from a vehicle which took off.

Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School athletics director Ryan Miller told MyCentralJersey.com Rich Vaccaro is no longer with the team but could not discuss the specifics of what led to his dismissal.

Maddison Oakes spent three months at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, after being struck by a stray bullet at a family birthday party in November. A Philadelphia man has been charged.
