Arrest in Rahway after SWAT standoff Tuesday

RAHWAY — A man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after a barricading himself inside a home in a brief stand off against city police and the Union County SWAT team, authorities said.

"The barricaded suspect was just now arrested without incident on 600 block of Audrey Place in Rahway," Union County Prosecutor's Office spokesman Mark Spivey told New Jersey 101.5 Tuesday. "Members of Union County Emergency Response Team (UCERT) SWAT Unit (were) involved in response."

Spivey said the incident involved domestic violence and declined to release further details, including the name of the suspect, on Tuesday.
