Saturday night's race at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford is expected to be a huge boost to the sport, giving it exposure to the No. 1 media market in the country and a new demographic of fans.

Supercross last raced in the New York area at Giants Stadium in 1991 and has not had much exposure in the Northeast in recent years.

The series currently has stops in Toronto, Detroit and Atlanta, but nothing close to the New York area.

New York fans could get a chance to see a champion crowned, too. Ryan Villopoto enters the race with a 48-point lead over James Stewart and could clinch his fourth straight title at MetLife.
