Shots were fired Friday morning in a Phillipsburg neighborhood.

Lehigh Valley Live reported the shooting took place on Rose Street around 8:15 a.m. and police were looking for four men who ran off after the shooting.

A gunshot victim arrived at Easton Hospital, and the hospital notified police in that community, which is across the Delaware River from Phillipsburg, the report said, citing Easton police Capt. Scott Casterline.

It also said Phillipsburg police confirmed about 9:30 a.m. that no one was in custody, but wouldn't confirm if anyone had been shot. At 10:15, the report said, someone was taken into custody and North Fourth and Broad streets.

A caller to New Jersey 101.5 said the nearby high school was placed on lockdown and a State Police helicopter landed on an athletic field.
