LAWRENCE (Mercer) — There's good news and bad news for Mercer County drivers this weekend.

The bad news: Both the northbound and southbound ramps to Route 1 from Route 95 North/Route 295 South at Exit 67 will be closed all weekend starting Friday at 10 p.m. until Monday morning at 5.

The good news: The southbound ramp, which has been closed since January, will reopen permanently on Monday as the $4 million project moves onto its next phase that will allow both ramps to be available.

The state Department of Transportation said bridge deck replacement will continue over the weekend. Crews will work behind construction barriers on guide rail, parapets and other items during the project's next phase, which begins on Monday.

There will be future weekend closures this spring for final paving and removal of the construction barrier, according to the DOT, which did not give a final completion date.

Drivers will be directed to continue on Route 95 North/Route 295 South to Exit 65 for Sloan Avenue, where they can change direction to head north on Route 295 and exits for both directions of Route 1.

The project was part of a scheduled maintenance project
