One dead in small plane crash in South Jersey
A small plane crashed in South Jersey killing the only person on board.
The small Cessna 150 went down late Saturday morning in the backyard of a home in a wdooded area on Jackson Road in Atco in Camden County not far from the Atco Raceway.Witness @justinwozniakk tweeted that the plane "nosedived" into the backyard.
The Camden County Prosecutors Office identified the pilot as David Sees, 65, of Marlton. According to 6 ABC Waterford Police Chief David Cormaney at a press conference said Sees took off from Camden County Airport in Berlin, about 6 miles away. He did not know where Sees was headed nor what led to the accident
Sees was the only person on board; no one was hurt on the ground according to Coemaney.
Fuel is also leaking from the place. The National Transportation Safety Board tweeted that they will investigate the crash.
New Jersey Fast Traffic reports Jackson Road has been closed between Medford Road and Richards Ave in Atco.
The crash is the second in South Jersey this week. A small plane crashed into the Atlantic Ocean 7 miles off the coast of Atlantic City.
