As I stated in yesterday’s installment, the mantra I’ve always used to get me into some kind of a workout routine was always “Jacked by June” “Diesel by December”.

And it’s never been easy.

Because you can’t always do it yourself.

Not to contradict myself, since yesterday I advocated gathering some equipment for your own home gym.

Which I believe will help ease you into some kind of fitness routine.

But hiring a trainer could be one of the best investments you make in yourself.

And just like a doctor needs another doctor to treat him or her; or a shrink needs another shrink (refer to Dr. Melfi in “The Sopranos”); I believe a trainer needs another trainer to “tweak” his or her routine.

Periodically I’ll meet with Brian Wecker…the kickboxing guru at the gym where I work in Manalapan.

Loads of fun!

Brian was one of the trainers who got me ready for the exhibition boxing bout I did with Double Down 5 years ago at the Hilton in Atlantic City.

(The other was Chris LaRocca, from the mean streets of E-town who now resides in South Florida; and is one of the Southeast’s leading personal trainers.)

(For the record, even though I got the decision, the kid kicked my ass...and I still don't' have the stones to watch the video!)

Anyway, Brian keeps me challenged, and is a great motivator.

Just like you’d need if you wanted to stick to a routine.

Knowing that your trainer will be at the gym at the appointed time should be enough to get you out of your house ready to take on whatever challenges he or she will have planned for you.

And don’t be shy about telling them if there are any particular routines you want to work on. They’re not mind readers. They’re there to accommodate, and to give timely advice on how to proceed.

So far, you’re into day 2.

See how much you’re accomplished so far?

The journey of a hundred miles starts with one small step!
